The season three cast of HBO’s The White Lotus is coming into focus.

Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey and Tayme Thapthimthong are now confirmed to be joining the cast of the Thailand-set season. Filming will begin in February in Thailand for a premiere most likely to come in 2025.

Natasha Rothwell will return to reprise her role in the new season, which will film in and around Koh Samui, Phuket and Bangkok and will follow a new group of guests at another White Lotus property. Additional castings are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

HBO has partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to support the filming and production of the season.

“We are honored to have amazing Thailand featured as the filming location for the highly anticipated upcoming season of The White Lotus,” said Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

The Motion Picture Sound Editors said today that Supervising Sound Editor/Sound Designer Dane A. Davis will receive its 2024 Career Achievement Award during its 71st annual Golden Reel Awards in March.

Davis is known for his Oscar winning work on The Matrix, and for his creative contributions to that film’s sequels and scores of other films and television shows.

“With his work on The Matrix, Dane Davis set a new standard for how to use sound to create worlds, add impact to stories, and arouse the emotions of the audience,” said Mpse President Mark Lanza. “Since then, he has continued to innovate across features, animation, television, and other mediums. We are excited to recognize his unique accomplishments with our annual Career Achievement Award.”

Mark Millar's Millarworld is moving from Image Comics to Dark Horse Comics, bringing over 20 franchises and 40 graphic novels with it. Five new series are planned for 2024, with Nemesis: Rogues' Gallery the first to be announced. Millar has also confirmed that Dark Horse will publish several hardcover collections of past series.

Keanu Reeves has been at the forefront of some of cinema's most important franchises, including "The Matrix" and "John Wick." Steven DeKnight, known for the Netflix version of “Daredevil” and “Jupiter’s Legacy,” has called Disney+’s upcoming reboot of the superhero drama an “old Disney scam.”

In 2022, it was announced that Disney+ would be moving forward with its own Daredevil series, titled “Daredevil: Born Again.” Though the series will see Charlie Cox reprise his role as the blind superhero, it will largely involve a different creative team than the one behind the Netflix original.

In a letter to shareholders Wednesday, it attempted an answer. What it came up with is that a hit Netflix show is, well, a hit Netflix show. You know, like, “Beef, “Queen Charlotte,” “Love Is Blind” or “The Night Agent” — any show that “super-serves the audience,” as the company put it.

Tautologies aside, it might have a point. Viewers tuned in, and subscribers paid up, to the tune of 5.9 million net new additions in the June quarter.
