Saif Ali Khan: “I found the story of Chef to be funny, touching, amusing, and interesting“
Saif Ali Khan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, Chef — an official remake of American film Chef released in 2014. Playing the character of a New York based chef, Saif shares how he trained under a professional chef at a five star hotel for the role.

“I enjoyed it. My director wanted me to be comfortable in the kitchen. People usually cheat in movies with scenes of cutting and chopping, but we have done that well. But I found frying relatively easy, I am now an expert at it,” laughs Saif.

What attracted him to Chef was its modern take on relationships and its complexities. “It shows the relevant issue among urban middle classes and the upwardly mobile people who have work pressures and have trouble balancing family with work. The situation that the character is in, I found to be funny, touching, amusing, interesting. We have...

There is a lot of teasing between the father and son, played with endearing casualness by Saif Ali Khan and Svar Kamble. Aptly, Chef teases our appetite for cinema. Saif Ali Khan really had a father like bond with Svar Kamble in Chef
One of the films we are eagerly awaiting to see is Saif Ali Khan’s Chef, the official Indian adaption of the Hollywood hit film. Directed by Raja Krishnan Menon, Chef follows the journey of New Yorker, Roshan Kalra, a Michelin-starred culinary master who is forced to go back to India and reconnect with his roots and with his family, especially his 11-year old son, Armaan. Their relationship is bittersweet, and throughout the film Roshan finds out what it really means to be a good father.

Interestingly Saif Ali Khan, who is of course a father in real life, found in reel life the role of Roshan Kalra was surprisingly daunting.

“I find it difficult to connect with or like other’s kids. I only like mine,” he jokes, but then goes on to explain, “therefore, to play a father to another kid and be convincing while doing that was my biggest concern.

Saif Ali Khan’s Styling In Chef Inspired By Real-Life Dads
Saif Ali Khan will soon be seen playing a Chef in Raja Krishna Menon’s next directorial venture. The trailer of the film has struck the right chord with the audience and movie connoisseurs have not only taken notice of the mouth-watering ‘foodgasm’ scenes and Saif’s culinary skills, but also his casual yet contemporary everyday Dad look!

Well, true to his chef-father avatar the actor’s clothes had to depict a convincing easy-going style and hence the designers took inspiration from urban dads in our country. The kind of look that Saif is sporting in the film is something that one will see young fathers wear on their day out with their kids, when they’re lounging around at leisure or on holidays.

Talking about the same, Raja says, “While styling Roshan Kalra (Saif Ali Khan), I wanted a very casual creative every day look so naturally, we veered...
