This is a documentary by director Risteard O'Domhnaill and narrated by Brendan Gleeson about the fishing and oil resources of three North Atlantic countries; Canada, Ireland, and Norway.
There is an important missing part about Canadian fishing right from the start. A section of the Grand Banks is in International Waters which makes policing not in Canada's hands. A simple map would explain it. The doc takes the words of a fisherman in the street and uses it as gospel. Basically, he said that Canada gave away the fishery in exchange for a market for its wheat. It's a very simplified and slanted narrative.
The big takeaway from this is that the Irish are plainly getting screwed. They really should be angered by this. They should be sheikhs of the seas. The evil EU has stolen billions in resource from them and they're dumb enough to get taken. It's actually eye opening to see how badly they are losing. There is also a big section about sonic pollution by oil exploration. It doesn't convince me of its environmental damage but it does show the relative power of the fishing industry in the three countries.
