Excellent show
esteban-torre11 November 2017
Before starting I want to clarify: this is a reality TV-show WITH history, not a documentary... I feel the need to clarify this as it seems to be some confusion on the topic.

Then, my actual review:

I had real fun watching this and getting to know more places that I could visit myself (or not). And Ozzy is Ozzy, you love it or hate it but I think it's quite clear by the TITLE OF THE SHOW that it will have him on it. For me it is an asset, he is a real showman that does not need fancy girls, big muscles nor big brains to entertain you. He is authentic.

This is for common people to have some fun while getting to know a little more about different places. I think that's it's quite clear from episode one that this is NOT a history-nerd show and that's why I like it, if I were a history nerd I would be reading books, not watching TV shows about it.

Footnote: I'm from Argentina and have self-learned English and English grammar... so if something isn't quite well written well... use your brains to understand it.

LOVE this show
jh-352224 January 2018
Was interesting to see places in the US I didn't know about. This season the scenes with the doll Robert made me laugh a lot. I was waiting for Ozzy to set fire to it. When Ozzy complained about Robert, Jack's comments were so perfectly funny.

I hope they have another season.

"Ozzy & Jack's World Detour"- Rock-God and Reality-TV pioneer Ozzy Osbourne returns with his adrenaline-junkie son Jack in this clever and highly entertaining series!
TedStixonAKAMaximumMadness24 November 2017
Ozzy Osbourne is an entertainment legend. From his early days with the wildly popular and influential rock-band Black Sabbath, through a successful solo-career that continues to this very day, Osbourne has emerged and remained one of the most beloved icons in Rock and Roll of the past fifty years. And his legend only grew when he teamed up with wife Sharon and children Jack and Kelly in 2002 to deliver the award-winning show "The Osbournes"- one of the original and quintessential Reality-TV series. It broke barriers, won over critics and audiences alike, and it eventually paved the way for many follow-ups and imitators who tried to replicate its great success to mixed results.

And while rumors have swirled about an "Osbournes" revival or reboot in the twelve years that have passed since it went off the air, the Osbourne clan have all moved on to their own solo-projects. Sharon continues to manage Ozzy's career. Jack built a miniature media empire with several shows of his own. Kelly became a TV personality and presenter. And Ozzy... well, he's continued to rock out, releasing album after album and selling out concerts the world over.

However, in 2016, Ozzy and Jack returned to the small screen together with a new series- "Ozzy & Jack's World Detour." And as a massive fan of not only their prior reality-franchise, but of Ozzy Osbourne in general, I can safely say that "World Detour" is a fantastic and genuinely hilarious new show that will please fans old and new alike.

Ozzy and his adrenaline-junkie son Jack are looking to have some quality father-son time. After all, Ozzy has been on the road basically his entire life, and as a result he didn't always get to do the things he wanted with his children. And so, the series follows the two as they take road-trips throughout the United States (and occasionally other nations), stopping at strange, notable or historically important locations to learn some facts and history, and most of all... to have a ton of fun in the process. What'll happen when Ozzy and Jack decide to visit the infamous and supposedly-haunted doll 'Robert'? Will Ozzy ever be able to find the perfect vintage RV? And will the boys turn into smugglers to get some of those sweet Cuban cigars? The answers to these questions and more will be found in "Ozzy & Jack's World Detour!"

While it might not technically be the long-awaited "Osbournes" revival and is produced by a different company for a different channel... "World Detour" very much feels like the best possible spiritual-successor to that ground-breaking original. The series is fast, loose and surprisingly informative, with a good structure that mixes in fun vignettes of the Osbourne men just chatting and joking, with educational segments for each of the locations they visit. You'll learn a thing or two each episode while getting plenty of chuckles and giggles from Ozzy and Jack's antics. It's not particularly deep, complex or challenging... but it excels at what it sets out to accomplish and does it with a great gusto that I just love.

I also really appreciate that the series eschews most of the tentpoles and tropes that have emerged in the Reality-TV craze. There's no falsely-manufactured drama, nor contrived story lines created in the editing room. The clearly-scripted segments feel organic and work well in the overall structure when mixed in with the unscripted segments. And on the whole, it's just very entertaining. It feels like you're right along with them, on a fun family road-trip with Ozzy and Jack.

"Ozzy & Jack's World Detour" is a charming, engaging and fairly educational program that fans of the Rock Icon and his delightful family will surely love. You'll learn some cool factoids, get plenty of belly-laughs and have lots of fun each time you tune in. And honestly... what more could you want? I give it a fantastic 9 out of 10 and highly recommend it!

Ozzy and Jack's show one of my fave of all time!
thecrowrules198215 December 2017
I remember catching the first episode of this new show once last year when it was on the History Channel and was like "this is sooo good" and that FINALLY, History Channel had a reality tv show about...well...history. I was sad that they didn't wanna continue the guys' show on that channel but I'm glad A&E took over so we can see Ozzy and Jack. I was like "he's so cute" whenever I see Ozzy being...well...Ozzy. I was sad that he didn't get to see the WH but also I'm glad he went to see John's statue in Cuba cause it helped me tell my friend (who also is like a 2nd mom to me) about it when she went to visit Cuba. You also get to learn stuff too. If it goes on dvd soon, you bet I'd buy it. I recommend it!

Funny and Interesting.
mikestockton9 September 2018
I really like this hybrid show. Hybrid because it is part travel, part family and part comedy...hard to actually define it apart from to say it is funny...and interesting.

Ozzy and jack, and various family members, go to interesting places and do interesting things. I've no doubt it is part scripted (my opinion) but much of it is not and you can see that...even the scripted stuff is funny such as robert the doll.

Anyway, I'm crap at reviews but am just hoping for a season 4 as this is a genuinely funny and interesting show.

Love Ozzy and Jack
gghx5 August 2018
The show is great fun. Love seeing Ozzy as a dad and grandfather. The bounding and traveling they do makes me miss my parents and times I had with them. It makes my heart smile. Would love to meet them if they are ever in NJ. Xoxo to the Osbourne family.

sumofme1 September 2018
I love the show. I'm disabled I can't get out like I used to. The drove through the city of St. George Utah where I live I enjoyed seeing the different things to do here that I can't due to a rare spine disease called tarlov cyst disease. So I want to thank you all. I wish to see more shows.

EPIC!
sixthshiva20 November 2020
Ran into Ozzy a couple of times on the road, although he was so blasted... Sharon kept a close eye on him & I didn't get to see the real Ozzy. It was right after Randy died. Brad was playing guitar... Ozzy wasn't himself. This show makes me smile. I'm so happy he came out the other side. Many aren't so fortunate. GREAT Show!

So Fun

Season 1 the best.

My fave enjoyment for this was the music episodes and detours! I'm a huge fan of Delta Blues so Deep South was the better ones for me. I enjoyed the push/pull of Ozzy n Jack's personalities and I 😂!

Premise is great idea and kinda sad it didn't continue.

The Adventures Of Jack And Ozzy
darthsitkur16 September 2020
I only discovered this show while channel surfing and decided to start from the beginning afterwards, this is a really fun and hilarious show, and they even visit plenty of historical sites too like I would do in St Augustine. I don't have much else to say but I do recommend it, and there's even lots of great music including the songs from Black Sabbath and blizzard of oz

Rock'n'roll is through, now anything will do.
CherryBlossomBoy21 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
It's aired on History Channel, and unlike the usual garbage they peddle there, I suppose you can call this one an actual historical show. In any case it features historical content and history experts to give it a brief rundown for the hosts and viewers.

Unfortunately it features Ozzy Osbourne as a host. I frankly don't know how that guy still receives a media exposure, but there he is. After he hit it off with the reality show, he'll do anything to squander what little professional dignity and musical legacy he has left.

As a typical rock'n'roll airhead, a genuine one at that, Oz just stands there, in any given gallery, museum or memorial center, nodding his head in bewilderment and uttering "wow" at anything that's shown to him. Doesn't matter whether he understands what he sees and whether he's genuinely impressed, a "wow" will be uttered at steady intervals. He'll also twitch in a silly manner, as if he's just going through a withdrawal.

So, that's it, that's your show. Perhaps there are some historical tidbits to learn there, but watching Ozzy makes it an insufferable experience. There is another host partnering in it, but beats me who that other guy is and I don't care.
