Interesting, but...

In all honesty could be a 12 minute YouTube doc. Lots of locals telling stories that they've heard over many years + interesting first hand experiences with the "monster", but the documentary never really goes anywhere other than this and in the end you can't help feeling like it's about an hour too long. The stories are generally the same (understandably) and with no actual footage or photos of the "monster" itself, nor any expert opinion or science backing up any samples of fur etc (as there aren't any), it quickly feels repetitive. Interesting, yes, but for me, over long.

Quite interesting but poor production

Watchable certainly but annoying production. Specifically the sound, interviews with the ex sheriff and museum curator are almost incoherent. Makes you think though that there could well be some out there....

As a longtime fan of T.L.O.B.C. this movie was a real treat!

Warning: Spoilers
Next to the original Legend Of Boggy creek, IMO Seth Breedlove knocked this documentary out of the park. You can tell he really put a ton of effort & research into making this most excellent documentary.

Seeing the state of the Searcy home was sad & also great that it's not been lived in any longer all these years after the event took place. Our ancient growth forests hold many secrets, the creature is a star & doesn't even know it LOL:)

My dad grew up very close to Fouke(he lived in a tiny place named Ringgold, Louisiana, only 98 miles from Fouke. AR)next to a similar bayou\location as Boggy Creek area) as a boy, he's a Louisiana swamp rat at least according to him. Those areas in the deep south are perfect for Bigfoot type creatures to thrive in. It was also interesting how they found five toed footprints, while the original prints were three toed.

More than likely it had some type of deformity? So in that sense it could be considered as a "monster" in relation to others of it's tribe. All in all a great movie, definitely a good watch IMO.

Boggy Creek Monster (2016)

** 1/2 (out of 4)

Fairly interesting documentary that goes back to Fouke, Arkansas where the film THE LGEND OF BOGGY CREEK was filmed. Director Seth Breedlove travels back to the location of that film to interview people who have seen the monster as well as give an update on some of the people whose stories were told in that now cult movie.

There's nothing ground-breaking to be found in this documentary but if you're a fan of the movie or just a fan of Bigfoot then you should enjoy this. At just 73-minutes the film manages to features some entertaining interviews including some audio clips of Smokey Crabtree who was considered one of the biggest experts on the Creature. It was fascinating getting to see the Fouke locations today as well as get some updates on THE LEGEND OF BOGGY CREEK.
