Season 1 was better. Im not liking this season... The story seems messy.

My overall rating of "Gomorra: La serie"'s Season 2: 4/10

This episode is incredibly interesting in its topic. While I don't necessarily agree with transsexualism, its portrayal in this episode lead me to sympathise somewhat with Conte and his "girlfriend" and their socially-difficult situation that ultimately becomes Conte's downfall. This whole subplot is a very interesting addition and send-off to Conte's character - his outward religiousness and ascetism apparently concealing some more deviant tastes.

This episode is finely-woven and has layers upon layers, both within itself and in the context of further episodes - Conte's party has many characters who will only make a named appearance later on. The characters are very charismatic.

There were some culture shocks for me in this episode that made me somewhat uncomfortable, interestingly from both "directions" of the spectrum between frivolity and backwardness - Italy's is truly a culture of contrasts. Additionally, the twist-upon-a-twist finale felt a bit arbitrary.

(I've watched this series in original languages with English subtitles)
