Rebecca Ferguson has been nominated for and won awards in several categories, including Best Actress in a Television Series for Silo and Best Actress in a Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie for Dune.
There's a good chance she'll get more nominations for Dune: Part Two, which has already grossed nearly $697 million since its release last month and looks set to be one of the biggest films of 2024.
Other notable successes for the Swedish-born actress include playing:
Jenny Lind in The Greatest Showman Ilsa Faust in the Mission: Impossible franchise Rose the Hat in Doctor Sleep
Next year, she'll star opposite Chris Pratt in the sci-fi detective film Mercy. But for all her success, she still has one sci-fi ghost to lay to rest.

Stephen King is one of the most adapted authors of all time. By the time we finished writing that first sentence, somewhere in the world production began on three more live-action adaptations of King’s stories, and that’s just how it goes: the writer has been incredibly productive over the decades, and people love watching his scary tales unfold on big and small screens.
Speaking of which, another Stephen King adaptation will soon be released, and its director teases the audience with the most captivating promises.
The Life of Chuck Is So Much More Than We Expect
Mike Flanagan is known for his passion for the horror genre, both as an actor and as a director. Mike Flanagan has already worked on Stephen King adaptations: Doctor Sleep, the sequel to The Shining, was his doing.

The upcoming film The Life of Chuck is the latest Stephen King adaptation from Mike Flanagan, who has previously been at the helm of the Stephen King adaptations Gerald’s Game and Doctor Sleep (and is also developing a series adaptation of The Dark Tower for Amazon Studios) – but it is not a horror movie. Flanagan has let it be known that this isn’t horror, and cast member David Dastmalchian has said the same in a new interview with Gizmodo, describing the film and elements in it as beautiful and heartbreaking.
Dastmalchian, who was also in the recent King adaptation The Boogeyman, said (with thanks to Coming Soon for the transcription), “It’s beautiful. You think, ‘Oh, Mike Flanagan, Stephen King, this thing’s going to just be the most horrifying, terrifying, thing you’ve ever seen.’ [But] it is so beautifully rendered, heartfelt, the drama, the performances. The cast in this is deep.

While the Big Easy was still shaking off a slight springtime chill, my horror-loving heart was heating up as I rode the escalator to the third floor of the Canal Place mall: home of the sprawling food court, the terrific Prytania Theaters, and, for this weekend, the official headquarters of the “summer camp for genre fans,” the 2024 Overlook Film Festival!
Taking that second escalator up to the third floor is akin to ascending to horror nirvana, as I was immediately immersed in all manner of the macabre: the Vinegar Syndrome table of essential physical media waited on my right, the Super Yaki merch table of eerie apparel lied straight ahead, and must-see screenings lurk around every corner. After meeting up with fellow Daily Dead team members Jonathan and Christy, we headed to our first screening of the fest: I Don’t Understand You. Emily Alyn Lind is still haunted by her work on horror movie 'Enter the Void' when she was five years old.The 'Gossip Girl' star played a young girl who sees her family killed in a car accident in the 2009 film, and she remembers the gory scenes vividly despite her young age and believes it inspired her to take on darker parts as an adult.Emily, now 21, told The Hollywood Reporter: "That [film] was such an experience in and of itself. I don’t know if it’s paranormal, but it feels like the ghost of my past at this point. I was like five years old, and it was the craziest experience. "People tell me: 'Oh, you don’t remember being five or six years old,' and I’m always like: 'I do, because I basically lived through a traumatic experience'."Yes, it was fake,...

Stephen King is one of the greatest authors of our time, and it was his novel Carrie that set him on the path to fame. Over the years, he has published several works that have won him critical acclaim. Some of his works have also been adapted into films, which speaks volumes about his skills.
King has been in this profession much longer than other writers of this genre have been alive. As morbid as it might sound, Carrie has reached a special milestone this year, and the author could not have been prouder.

“And then the world exploded.”
Fifty years ago, Stephen King published a slim novel about a lonely girl finding her power and the world of horror has never been the same. We all know the story by now. Outcast Carrie White gets bullied by her classmates and abused by her ultra-religious mother. Good Girl Sue Snell convinces her boyfriend to take Carrie to prom in her place. Mean Girl Chris Hargenson orchestrates a plot to get Carrie voted Prom Queen then coronates her with a bucket of pig’s blood. They all laugh and Carrie unleashes her deadly powers of telekinesis. King’s story of high school morality and bloody revenge has woven itself into the fabric of American life, extending its reach well past genre limits. To mark this milestone, The Losers’ Club celebrates the birth of a legend with a Twinner book episode on the 1974 novel Carrie.

Carla Gugino worried that by playing “Gerald’s Game,” she might lose her career forever.
The actress revealed to Buzzfeed that first collaborating with future “Haunting of Hill House” showrunner Mike Flanagan on the 2017 indie Stephen King adaptation was a daunting task.
“It was always considered an un-adaptable book by Stephen King,” Gugino said. “Also, someone was attached to play the role before. So, from the moment that I spoke to Mike Flanagan to the moment we were filming ‘Gerald’s Game,’ it was literally two weeks. So, to come on to that role in that project, in which I was chained to a bed within that period of time, was a real risk. And I thought, ‘We’re either going to do something really special here, or this is the end of my career.’ You know what I mean? There’s no middle ground here. I’m so thankful that it was the former.

Before starring in the space opera Star Wars as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Cara Dune, Ewan McGregor and Gina Carano shared the screen in the 2011 action thriller, Haywire. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, the film follows Mallory Kane (Carano), a spy caught in a web of deception as she fights to protect herself and her loved ones.

The movie, which marked Carano’s feature film debut, also became memorable for McGregor, who played her ex-boyfriend Kenneth. The actor once recounted an incident that happened during filming where he accidentally punched his co-star. However, the mishap ended up causing more harm to McGregor himself than to the former Mma star.

The Losers head down to North Carolina for a summer job at Joyland circa 1973, a time when Rod Stewart was still in Faces, Dark Side of the Moon was the cutting edge new album, and moments could only be captured by Hollywood Girls and their professional cameras. It was also a time when local legends could flourish and remain mysterious enough to linger in our minds. And that’s of major interest to us today as we try to unravel the eerie murder within Stephen King‘s Hard Case Crime novel Joyland.
Published in 2013, King’s second Hard Case Crime novel brought the author even closer to his crime era with The Bill Hodges Trilogy, while also paving the way for his then-highly anticipated sequel to The Shining, aka Doctor Sleep. Aykroyd said, “We like New York, but that’s not to say that we couldn’t make New York the base and travel off somewhere else. But… hey, there are ghosts around the world.“

Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining will undoubtedly stand out as a cult classic horror flick through generations. Featuring a few of the most popular and unforgettably terrifying scenes and starring the ominous Grady twins, the movie is held in high regard, by even casual moviegoers. But surprisingly Stephen King wasn’t quite fond of Kubrick’s take on his novel.
A still from Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures (2001)
Despite being adapted from Stephen King’s 1977 novel of the same name, the author wasn’t pleased with Stanley Kubrick’s movie. Mainly disappointed by the character depictions in The Shining, King was eventually able to forgive Kubrick, after Mike Flanagan adapted the author’s 2013 novel Doctor Sleep. Watching Rebecca Ferguson’s underrated 2019 movie, King admitted how Kubrick’s The Shining was redeemed by Doctor Sleep.

Something strange is happening in the neighborhood. Time to call the Ghostbusters. Sony has just released the final trailer for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. While it’s been addressed in past trailers and TV spots that this new evil entity that is taking over New York City can scare people to death, and there’s been a mention of a “ghost army,” this final trailer emphasizes that every ghost that the Ghostbusters have ever caught will be unleashed. This provides an opportunity for the film to showcase old fan favorites as well as make references to the wild, unique ghosts of The Real Ghostbusters cartoon and toy line. The notion of “every ghost they ever caught” sounds like an ultimate final conflict, but director Gil Kenan has stated that he already has ideas for sequels beyond Frozen Empire.

Dune: Part Two star Rebecca Ferguson recently revealed that she was screamed at on the set of a film early in her career by a huge star. The actress mentioned that she later told the star to “F off” after the altercation and refused to work with them, which drew flack from the producers as the other actor was ‘Call Sheet No.1’.
While Ferguson did not reveal who the screamer was, the Internet has gone with speculations. The actress assured that it was neither Tom Cruise nor Hugh Jackman while Dwayne Johnson, her Hercules co-star seemingly cleared his name. A recent clip with Star Wars star Ewan McGregor showed Ferguson being extremely comfortable with the actor, clearing his name too.

We’ve already seen multiple posters for the Ghostbusters: Afterlife (watch it Here) sequel Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (which, of course, also serves as a sequel to the original Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II), but the marketing department at Sony Pictures thought we needed a couple more, so now they’ve unveiled two new posters that feature a Mini-Puft and the iconic ghost Slimer. You can check them out in the embed at the bottom of this article. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is set to reach theatres on March 22nd.
And if you’re wondering what it’s going to be rated, the Motion Picture Association ratings board just made their announcement today: Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire has been rated PG-13 for supernatural action/violence, language and suggestive references.

Update: Well, we can scratch Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson off the list of suspects (not that anyone really thought it was him). Rebecca Ferguson’s former co-star (from Hercules) hit X earlier today, posting: “Hate seeing this but love seeing her stand up to bullshit. Rebecca was my guardian angel sent from heaven on our set. I love that woman. I’d like to find out who did this.”

As much as "Star Wars" might seem like a clear net-positive for any actor's career, history has shown that it's not always as good as it sounds. Jake Lloyd, who played young Anakin in the first movie, was famously bullied out of acting for his supposedly bad performance. Natalie Portman also struggled to find work after the prequels because her performance as Padme was considered pretty wooden too. Basically everyone involved in these movies is indeed a perfectly fine actor; the problem was just that George Lucas is bad at directing his actors, as shown by how even Christopher Lee and Samuel L. Jackson seemed to performing below their abilites.
Even in the agreed-upon good movies in the franchise, the actors involved could sometimes struggle to find meaty roles later on. Mark Hamill became a much-celebrated voice actor after the original trilogy, while Carrie Fisher carved out a career for...

For a guy who writes about awful stuff happening to people, Stephen King sure likes liking things. Just think about how many times he’s used his position to praise other creatives and projects. “I have seen the future of horror and his name is Clive Barker,” declared his blurb for the American release of Books of Blood. “Tight, terrific, and very, very scary. Reminded me a bit of Duel,” he said of The Fall on Twitter in 2022. “Wish I’d written it.” Heck, his horror history book Danse Macabre ends with an appendix recommending over 100 books and nearly 100 movies.
But when the 76-year-old writer praises the upcoming film adaptation of his seminal novel Salem’s Lot , King’s word carries a bit more weight. King published Salem’s Lot, about a man who learns that his old hometown has become infested with vampires, in 1975 and is still regarded decades later as...

Listen close! Follow my instructions. There is no time for introductions. The score for "Five Nights at Freddy's" is officially getting the vinyl treatment from iam8bit, and these albums are going to go fast. Officially licensed with Blumhouse and Universal Pictures, the "Five Nights at Freddy's" score contains the music from The Newton Brothers as featured in the smash-hit film adaptation of the ridiculously popular video game series. If you're reading this, you probably already know that and don't need me to explain why "FNaF" is so popular, so I won't waste your time. For the rest of you, here's your homework.
The "Five Nights at Freddy's" soundtrack comes on red vinyl, but it's not just any red vinyl, it's specifically "Pizza Party Red." What does that mean, exactly? Well, it's the color of red many associate with those perfect plastic cups from places like Pizza Hut in the 1980s and 1990s,...

The Ghostbusters: Afterlife (watch it Here) sequel Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (which, of course, also serves as a sequel to the original Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II) is set to reach theatres on March 22nd – and during an interview with Empire magazine, director/co-writer Gil Kenan revealed that the film draws inspiration from the 1986 – 1991 animated series The Real Ghostbusters‘ willingness to be weird and wild.
Kenan said he appreciated The Real Ghostbusters‘ “wild, original and weird-as-fuck villains. We wanted to bring that show’s looseness and fearlessness to this movie. I think it’s going to surprise people just how big this film is.“
As Empire pointed out, The Real Ghostbusters “unleashed such oddities as a werechicken, a boogeyman, and an alternate reality with ‘Peoplebusters’.” As for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the main villain is something known as the Death Chill, and it also features a giant creature known as the Sewer Dragon.

Some horror properties naturally lend themselves to incessant sequels, while others seem to will themselves into existence through sheer will, as if they’re the result of a demonic possession. William Friedkin’s The Exorcist, while over 50 years old, is still considered to be one of the scariest movies of all-time. Various Exorcist sequels and even a two-season television series have materialized over time. However, none of these projects generated the same level of skepticism that accompanied Blumhouse’s announcement that they’d be producing not just a legacy sequel to Friedkin’s original film, but an entire trilogy, directed by David Gordon Green. Green had just pulled off a similar spectacle with his Halloween legacy sequel trilogy, yet Michael Myers’ slasher antics are much more conducive to this formula than repeated returns to The Exorcist’s MacNeils.

If you’re looking forward to the Ghostbusters: Afterlife (watch it Here) sequel Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (which, of course, also serves as a sequel to the original Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II) we have some good news to share with you today: showing that they’re concerned by the spring break competition of Lionsgate’s Mark Wahlberg adventure movie Arthur the King or Focus Features’ The American Society of Magical Negroes, Sony has gone ahead and moved the Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire theatrical release date forward slightly. The theatrical release was scheduled for March 29th, but now Deadline has confirmed that it has moved to March 22nd.
And yes, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire will screen in IMAX and premium large formats.
