Exclusive: The personal story of multi-hyphenate Mario Van Peebles will come to TV. The actor, writer and director, known for New Jack City and Heartbreak Ridge, has teamed with Dorothy Toran and Leslie D. Farrell’s Lauren Grace Media to develop a docuseries about Van Peebles and his family.
The series will focus on the close relationship the Superstition, All My Children and Rude Awakening actor shares with his four adult children: Maya, Mandela, Makaylo and Morgana.
Mario Van Peebles’ acting credits include Ali, Bloodline and Baadasssss!. His directing credits include episodes of Empire, Superstition and 21 Jump Street. He has both directed and acted in Salt-n-Pepa, Panther, Red Sky and more. He will produce the Broadway revival of his father Melvin Van Peebles’ 1971 musical Ain’t Supposed to Die a Natural Death. He will also direct and star in the upcoming Outlaw Posse.

Braxton is developing a cooking format with Dorothy Toran and Leslie Farrell’s Lauren Grace Media. Cooking With Ms. E, which is inspired by her upcoming cookbook, will see her give viewers an inside look into one of her favorite places – her kitchen.
The series will also see Braxton joined by a number of guests in the kitchen as she bakes up recipes, including her famous buffins – a cross between a muffin and a biscuit.

Pj Harvey has revealed a demo for “This Mess We’re In,” from her upcoming reissue of Stories From the City, Stories From the Sea, out February 26th via UMe/Island.

In the indie pic, a controversial social media influencer stays at a cursed hotel to gain more subscribers. But what begins as a fun investigative challenge quickly descends into a personal hell. Followed was released two weeks ago in North America, where in a coronavirus context it has been a top ten movie at the box office, accumulating more than $300,000 from only 44 theaters at widest point of release. Global View Ent. has released an official trailer for an indie horror film called Followed, yet another horror film mixing social media mania with ghosts. We've seen way too many of these kind of films recently, and they never turn out any good. To gain more subscribers, a controversial social media influencer named "DropTheMike" stays at a cursed hotel ("one of the most haunted hotels in America") to terrifying results. What a remarkably unoriginal concept that won't scare anyone. Followed stars Matthew Solomon, John Savage, Sam Valentine, Tim Drier, Caitlin Grace, Kelsey Griswold, and Christopher Ross Martin. Why do all of these found footage horror films look the same, with all the usual cliche, cheesy moments and jump scares and boring ghost surprises. Ugh.
