Sex & Nudity

  • Mira, a female character, has jacket undone from the top to the middle, fully displaying her bra-covered chest on a constant basis.
  • A drunk character pleads for another character to have sex with her. Two characters are shown beginning to have sex, before a fade to black.
  • The dialogue contains references to sexual material (e.g.,"Call HR, this is sexual harassment, old man"; "Then sleep with me!"; "He'd ask you for money, sex..."). One scene depicts a male character briefly straddling and holding down a female character's arms.

Violence & Gore

  • The characters are in a death game, in which "at least six people must die". Multiple scenes in the game involve rounds of this game, in which the characters are forced to make sadistic choices, often involving a risk of a brutal death. The player partakes in these games, to attempt to produce what they consider the best possible outcome. Some of these involve the player having to decide whether to take affirmative, yet possibly horrific, action, in a moral dilemma. For example, whether it is best to fire a gun that might kill someone to unlock a door and save someone else who is about to be burned to death, or to let that person burn to death, to insure you don't become a murderer. Others involve a situation with an ultimately brutal failure condition. For example, a game that involves one desired outcome, while failure in the game results in a cut scene in which the characters are gunned down.
  • "Q", a young child, is among the participants in the death game, and receives multiple death scenes, although his deaths are typically the least violent in the game and never involve blood.
  • The player is put game game scenarios where he or she may feel coerced into having to commit violent acts against other characters. For example, selecting shoot someone in the head, selecting to activate an acid shower that brutally dissolves 6 other people, selecting for select people to be executed via a bomb blowing their head up. These are often the outcome of the player attempting to make the right choice during morally grey scenarios (e.g. a scenario involving the "trolley problem"), an outcome based on a gut instinct for survival, or a situation based on trust.
  • During scenarios where the player must make a choice, there is always an option for the player to avoid directly committing any violent act, by refusing to do so. However, this choice is not presented as the "correct" thing to do, and committing these acts is not the "wrong choice". Refusing to commit direct violence against other characters may lead to violent, undesirable outcomes (e.g. refusing to fire a gun at someone's head results in someone else getting burned alive) that the player indirectly causes. In other to experience the game in it's entirely, the player will have to commit every violent act that the game allows them to commit.
  • Characters sometimes use weapons to kill each other: a character shot in the head; a man shot with a crossbow; a character attacking a person with a chainsaw. One dramatic scene depicts a woman cutting out a dead man's heart with a crossbow arrow; though the sequence is obscured, there are protracted crunching and squishing sound effects. Blood-splatter effects and pools of blood frequently occur throughout the game.

Profanity

  • "Fuck", "shit", "bastard", and many other strong, and weak, profanities are used constantly through the game.
  • The words "f**k," "sh*t," and "a*shole" appear in dialogue.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • "Q" is a young amnesiac child that was forced to take part in the death game, and is exposed to the same thing as the adult characters. "Q" is constantly abused, physically and verbally, by the character Eric, is subjected to atrocities which occur during the games event, and is forced into many heavily psychologically scarring scenarios, as well as scenarios where he can be killed by other characters. On some paths, "Q" is coerced or forced to kill other characters.
  • Players must partake in "Decision Games", in which they are confronted with a choice they must make. These are frightening moments, that often involve intense conflict of moral, and may force the player to make a horrific choice, under a strict countdown. Others involve aspect of luck, intelligence, and a trust in others.
  • This is an adventure game in which players follow the story of nine people forced to play a life or death game while trapped in an underground shelter. Players mostly watch events unfold in a visual novel with occasional choices that affect the story line.
