The plot is very simple, with a father wanting to arrange his daughter Sweetiee's marriage to an NRI, unaware that she already has a boyfriend (Akash) whom she wants to marry.
It sets off ridiculously with embarrassingly poor acting that make you pray that the film is not simply a collection of overacted scenes worthy of an over dramatic soap opera. Alas, the prayers went mainly unanswered. Even if the rest of the film is not as bad as the beginning, it is merely average.
Eventually, Akash pretends to be an NRI, and on their wedding day, the two villains, who also plan for one of them to marry Sweetiee for financial reasons, threaten to expose his lie. This results in Akash fleeing the scene, leaving Sweetiee heartbroken and her father falling ill. With no further word from Akash, Sweetiee, willing to accept an arranged marriage to an NRI, agrees to marry the villain.
What annoyed me the most about the film though, was the ending.
The audience discovers that Akash has become an NRI and he films the villains discussing their plan of getting Sweetiee's family money. He shows up at Sweetiee's wedding to talk her out of the marriage, but she coldly proceeds with the celebration. To cut the story short, thanks to the video he took, he convinces her father of the villain's true intentions and then takes the groom's place and without Sweetiee knowing, they marry each other. What's annoying is that Akash did not contact Sweetiee for months (despite having a nice phone with which he took the video) and marries Sweetiee without her consent?? It seems obvious to me that if you don't contact someone for months, the best way to win their affection back is not to sneakily pose as the groom and proceed with the wedding procession. If nothing else, the ending managed to get my attention.
All in all, the film is very average. It certainly doesn't begin well as it makes the viewer fear that the whole film is going to be so painful and unrealistic that they would not survive to see the end of it. But if you survive the intro, it's a bearable film with quite good songs. To be honest, there's a lot worse out there.
