What did I just watch?

The overall scheme of the movie ( That I perceived ) was that apparently there were some jug heads with a vendetta who sought vengeance against the thieving pastor who basically took all and gave nothing back. The overall morality of the movie was acceptable, but it seemed forced, overwhelming, and misplaced. In the movie, the church had prison-like features ( For almost no reason ), a "high security" (which consisted of two people ), and an irregular plot. It wasn't long before I noticed the very poor directing and acting, let alone, some of the worst editing I've seen in a movie that considers itself< at the least, a "B" movie.

As far as editing, there are many scenes where the blood doesn't match up with the previous scene. These cuts are one of the most important things to viewers.

The plot was shaky. I half way understood where it was going, but in the end, the director just gave up and wanted to finish quickly.

The conclusion was a ( for the most part ) a happy ending, excluding personal deaths within the movie, but, very inconclusive and had not left an opening for a sequel, or at the very least an answer on how things happened. Also, five minutes, is five minutes. If you're going to place a specific time in a movie ( ex. 5 min ), and be so elaborate as of how much that time means, then execute that time in a timely fashion.

Overall, I rate this movie a 3/10. Spend your time watching something better.

its clumsy mr.miller

Wes miller, it sounds like a speedy director,has composed this thriller that simply makes my toetips burn from the bad acting, bad timeline and edited timeline, with an original idea but so lost story about a heist and hijacking of ......a church(?)....and this church are bulletproof and terrorsafe with state of the art surveillance and security force that are just armed with a mouthfull of nothing, and the head of security shines his twinkling cowboy revolver and has his own plan,the rest of the crew though have no guns,no tazers ,no sticks to beat the enemy with. its so filled with holy spirit in the start that they totally forget to lock the doors that day,namely the day that the new security chief starts in her job. and this freak manages to lock herself out of the building, while the heisters equiped with assault rifles and god nows what, and masks to disguise their faces , where each thug has its own color from gold and silver to blue and white. how stupid do you think real terrorists are mr.wes miller? every geek with a mind of itself would never attack a target not being able to differ between his ''armed brothers''. i think you should rewrite the story to a bank,casino or a brothel to beheist, and use one color on the outfit next time. im an old grumpy man that can take a lot but this was like tide on astronomical low caused by high pressure in the producers cylinder head, that makes me krank. i couldve said so much more,but the editor of this site may not like it,and will shred it, but this is my sincere review . no recommendations from me

Seriously what the hell was this? The acting was so terrible that I was in stiches with laughter. Reminded me of Steve Martin's movie within a movie "Chubby Rain"! I don't think the actors got paid for this movie. They themselves paid just to be in front of the camera! LOL

The secuirty says they are walking in a military fashion. How they were on an escalator. Lets see they were all wearing masks but the hero never picks one up to blend in. No search of bodies for ammo but was a special forces op.

This movie is complete garbage. The "action" is terrible, the acting is worse, and the plot is one of the stupidest twists on "the siege action-thriller" genre I've ever seen. I couldn't finish watching it.

Awful acting and writing... a slimy reverend is stealing $ from the million dollar church. A team comes in to "bring justice" but they end up killing just about every character. Daughter of one of the board members basically kills all of the "bad guys" trying to get her daughter out of the church. Very uncomfortable to wat h.

This 'movie' makes no sense. I don't know where to begin how bad it is. It looks like the video was shot by a first grader, wrong angle in every shot. The music doesn't work and it just randomly cuts off in some scenes. The story must have been written by a monkey and then it all directed by a blind & deaf person.

Soooo....lmao. Unless you plan to make a drinking game out of this movie, please do not waste your time. The details in terms of sound, editing and consistency, never made it to the window so they could be thrown out. To be fair, they would have had more success if they kept this as a college film project.

I just watched latest movie 'Atone 'which is released on February 26, 2019 per IMDB information. Surprisingly it is a good movie. Very similar story line to 'Peppermint' of Jenifer Garner with some difference. Story is of a mother of daughter to fight against a gang of nasty goons who hijacking a church for their demand. Movie is full of action and thrill till the end. And you feel tension throughout the movie. As me we should must learn to fight against the wrong side although it would be very dangerous or deadly. Must watchable for action and thriller lovers. Do not go with low ratings. Moreover movie is only one and half hour long whereas torture drama movies are mostly lengthy ( best example : The House That Jack Built for 2 and half hours long ). However there are some loose points too in the movie that the church seems like a bank with high security! What is the past of Lara? Why did not Lara tell her daughter to go to the police for help when she escaped?

But you can overlook this in the flow of action movie. Must watch for your value of money and time.

O.M.G...WHY did someone write this CRAP. The actor is BEYOND trash. But GREAT for a snooze feast. With Columbus Short it was a guarantee for b.s....smh. The shooting of the two camera watchers was pure comedy.

The editing was bad. One person got shot then it went to another character and gun shots were in the background. I edit my youtube skits better than this movie.

Apparently all you need to make a movie is a half semester of film school, access to a big building for the weekend, and a script loosely assembled from a half dozen other movies. You don't need things like skills, talent, writers who graduated from high school, editors who are trained, an original storyline, or a budget. I would give it one star but Jaqueline Fleming has some talent, the script just didn't provide her an opportunity to show it.

Simply described this is a faith-based "Die Hard" with Jaqueline Fleming playing the role of Bruce Willis. Laura was a GI Jane and a lawyer. She is apparently the member of some kind of fight club and is 90 days behind on her mortgage. She considers herself a great mom. Laura gets hired on to the Bethel Community mega-church as security the same day a group of terrorists break-in and raise havoc. Rather than say, pull the fire alarm occasionally seen in the background in order to get help, she decides to be a one-woman vigilante. She is up against folks with semi-automatic weapons who miss at close range, even in a sweeping motion and there are two of them. Since it is faith-based, do I need to say the acting was God awful?

No swearing, sex, or nudity. Just a woman who can take a punch to the face

This movie was probably made with a ultra-low cost budget or no budget at all. "Anyone can make a movie"style. Bad acting, bad effects, bad scenario, bad sound, bad everything. I have not a clue how this "movie" found its way to IMDb, Netflix, and so on. I have seen better editing and special effects done with a smartphone.

Okay but forgettable.

"Atone" is not a great movie but it is an okay one. The comments on IMDB are a little harsh. Low budget action movies can only do what they do and this one held my interest. The cast of "Atone" did a (mostly) fine job. This movie moves quickly and its short running time helps out quite a bit. "Atone" was okay but I don't think I'll ever pay it another visit. Honorable mention: Columbus Short.

This is the worst movie I've seen in my life. I really wasted 1hr and 29 minutes of my time looking at straight garbage acting, terrible effects, and a horrible plot. I'd rather listen to bubble guppies til my ears bleed. I don't regret many things in life but watching this is one of them.

Note to Wes Miller: you're done

This was the worst movie I have ever had the misfortune of watching. Shame on Netflix for giving me a 97% recommendation, shame on Wes Miller for creating such a disaster, and shame on Columbus Short for being involved in this trash.

The director obviously has some issues with the church in which he set forth to vehemently voice in this film. While the theme of the story is an issue alive and well within churches of all sizes, it's painfully obvious through the dialogue of the film. Not only is the dialogue excruciating to sit through, the acting was painful for every single actor. The fighting scenes were sub par. There were, at times, moments that made absolutely no sense. Lastly, the start of the movie was a slow build that immediately made me lose interest (yet I somehow kept watching until the end).

I will say, however, that I appreciate the moments in the movie that had me rolling over laughing. The dramatic, literal fading out of scenes, the overly dramatic and unnecessarily slow reveal of Columbus Short (the movie's only well-known, if not recognizable, actor) and Laura Bishop's corny sudden "awakening" after she has a flashback of her husband's death.

Honestly, I really need Wes Miller to read the reviews of this movie and take heed. I understand he put work out that I'm sure he stands behind and, by all means, he should be proud of himself for actually setting his mind to come up with an idea and execute it. However.... dude should seriously not make any more movies until he takes a directing or writing class or something. This movie was absolutely unbearable and stupid and waste of resources and money.
