If you tell me this was actually on the big screen ,,i just won't believe it at all.
Aktham_Tashtush15 August 2018
The story is good ... good for a Liftime or MTV movie ,, i mean i get it cancer and all ,, but the whole scenario was a bit lame.

The plot is so average,, the writing was a problem ,, and the directing looked so weak ,, the scenes just kept on coming and it actually felt like a TV movie where 14 years old girls would like to watch with there moms.

The cast just added to the awfulness ... don't know about, Mia Rose Frampton, i feel like i saw her somewhere before in a movie ,, and i hated her back then, and it all scratched back into life today.

finale thought,, you could watch it if you have "literally" nothing to watch..

Could Have Been Better

It's an interesting premise. A teenage girl who was expecting to die soon from cancer is suddenly told that she's in remission, and can look forward to many years of adulthood. Likewise, I don't have a problem with a protagonist trying to figure out how to adjust to a complete change in her plans. It turns out that she's more scared of living than she was of dying. The movie has a good message about living life, instead of just waiting for death.

However, the movie has a very unlikable protagonist. She keeps milking the cancer to get special treatment. That is disgusting behavior. My brother's wife lost her sister to bone cancer, and I wouldn't dare show this movie to her. Furthermore, the way Hope treats her friends is abhorrent. I know that a story needs a low point, but it doesn't have to result from the main character being a bratty jerk.

She changes, though. She finds a badly needed new friend, who helps her get her life together. Friendship is a powerful thing, and a single friend can make a huge difference in someone's life.

Horrible, not all what cancer patients act like
ljohnsto-785016 May 2020
Hope was a selfish brat who didn't care who she affected because she had cancer. This is not at all how patients act. My brother is in remission and he is very humble and great full, like everyone else I've met who have battled. Hope was spoiled and used her sickness for her advantage which was very wrong. I know she apologized but it doesn't make it any better. Nice job for making a horrible spin off of The Fault in Our Stars.

Is it possible to rate 0 stars?

This movie is terrible; Like actually the worst! Imagine if an eleven year old tried to rewrite The Fault in our stars? The acting: terrible, Writing; Pitiful- Definitely would not recommend.

The movie may have worked if the audience could have sympathised with the protagonist- Hope (Yes, This joke was used consistently throughout the movie). However the poor acting overall led to me low-key wishing our dear friend Hope was run over with a truck. Multiple times.

The only time I smiled was when the Australian boyfriend was introduced because his accent was so utterly terrible, My natural instinct was to run away and live a new life as a llama farmer in nepal or smile in blissful unawareness- I chose the latter.

Terrible acting. Terrible plot. Don't waste your time. Can't believe Netflix would even want this.

A fault in our stars wanna be! Acting, writing, character development is as bad as a rotten tomato. I just cannot even understand why they make this kind of movies, it just annoys me.

Shallow and deeply uncomfortable
alexanderkdowsett13 March 2019
I understand the demographic for this film may not be myself but this doesn't change the fact that the script is truly atrocious. I watched this with my daughter of 12 upon her request but hate to say about 45 minutes in we both agreed to turn it off and watch something else. It's apparent that the actors are trying their utmost to force the terrible writing off the paper but it really is a film that never should have been made/funded, not even to mention the fact that it's disrespectful to those with cancer. Just a bad bad film just don't watch it for the love of god.

Not worth your time

This movie is bad. Really bad. The acting is terrible. The storyline is bad. It is so far from the reality of what high school is actually like. Honestly, I feel robbed of the time I spent watching this dud of a movie. Don't be like me.

I created an account to share how spot on this film was!!
sarahhendricks-6279316 September 2019
My husband and I just finished watching this and don't understand the shallowness of the negative reviews! My mom just passed away at 64 from Leukemia in May 2019, and my husband's mom passed away 16 years ago from cancer at only age 44 and we felt this movie got the perspective right completely!! As much as our pain is with us constantly for losing our parents, they were adults and handled their cancer as adults.... I can't imagine being a kid-teenager faced with terminal illness being told you would never live past your teen years then to be told your pain and suffering led to remission. Hope didn't know how to feel her feelings, and popularity felt good, but she had to learn her "Aha!" moment on her own in her own way. One thing my husband and I learned from being so close to the struggle of cancer, is that each person truly deals with it in their own way, and there is no right or wrong. Remission is sometimes scarier than the terminal illness, because it doesn't mean "cure" and you are waiting for the other shoe to drop. As a child faced with a terminal illness you learn to live to die before you live, then with remission you don't know how to live without a too-soon expiration date. This movie proves exactly that and I think it was incredibly done and had such a warm heartfelt meaning. Plus the ending and credits were perfect!!!

If this movie offends you then you need to get out more and open up your mind and heart to how you would deal with a struggle like this... a terminal diagnosis as a teen from a teen prospective!! Take a moment to think how difficult a walk in their shoes would be, figuratively and literally...

High School is Hard
nrehrig12 August 2018
Hope has accepted that her cancer is terminal, and enjoys special attention from the most popular girls in high school because of her diagnosis. And her teachers excuse her from tests and assignments. When Hope's mother wants to intervene in her school life, the guidance counselor explains to Hope's mother that high school is hard for everyone, not just Hope.

When her cancer goes into remission and she is no longer considered terminal, Hope is uncertain how her friends and teachers will react and hides the truth. She faces her fears and learns that some things are more important than being popular.

This movie has some funny moments and some serious and touching moments with her friend Sarah, who also has cancer. All in all, a good movie that you'll want to see again.

The truth about cancer??
kymrox59 November 2018
The acting was so so & a really pedestrian storyline besides, I don't think so. Another propaganda for the billion $ healthcare machine. Chemo is the biggest lie ever devised. It does NOTHING to cure cancer in fact it makes you too weak to fight it!! Natural, organic supplements are the only way to shrink the tumors. Family members have bought into the lie that chemo works & paid the ultimate price while I know people that didn't fall into that trap that are still alive today. Don't believe the lies!!

Ugh!
ts-000015 October 2020
Like they took all bad ideas that never made it into big blockbusters,of similar content & called it a movie. Did start out ok before her diagnosis change, than it became actually a terminal mess. Any event in life changes you,but how the film approached it was horrible.. Shallow & so forth. The main character wasn't all that likeable, don't feel a different actress could of helped the script. Have seen the lead(Mia)in other things, where she was good. I was hoping for more of a saving grace type ending, but instead was rather bland. Than besides the cancer tribute, most decent part.. Unfortunately came the closing song, which felt went on.. Forever! If you are bored, check it out.
