It’s fitting that the first look at Jonathan Eusebio’s Love Hurts came in the same week as John Wick’s 10th anniversary. Eusebio, who’s affectionately known as “JoJo,” met Wick co-directors David Leitch and Chad Stahelski at a martial arts school in the early ‘90s, and the two stunt performers turned filmmakers have taken Eusebio under their wings ever since. It was quite a career pivot for someone who majored in biological sciences at Uc Irvine, but it wasn’t completely unforeseen considering Eusebio’s two first loves were martial arts and Hong Kong action cinema.
Eusebio then climbed the ranks, working on the stunt teams for features like Blade II (2002) and Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002). He then gained more and more responsibility through roles such as the assistant fight coordinator on The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) to the actual fight coordinator on Iron Man 2 (2010) and The Avengers (2012).

It’s no secret that the Covid-19 pandemic upended the movie theater business in 2020, but in the years since, the industry has slowly climbed back. So how many features released during the current 2024 calendar year will end up becoming box office behemoths? Stay tuned.
To date, the biggest money-makers of the year are a trio of highly anticipated sequels: “Inside Out 2,” “Deadpool & Wolverine” and “Despicable Me 4.” Scroll through our gallery above (or click here for direct access) to see all of the 2024 box office hits so far that made more than $100 million in the United States. In the school yearbook of superhero projects, 2018's "Venom" would definitely have been voted "Least likely to succeed." It was an origin story about a supervillain whose comic book origins are inextricably tied to Spider-Man ... but Spider-Man wasn't even in it, being tied up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Instead, "Venom" was to be part of Sony's own shared superhero universe (which at one point bore the unfortunate acronym "Spumc").
Against all odds, "Venom" was a box office hit. Then the 2021 sequel "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" was also a sizable hit. And although this year's threequel is heading for the lowest opening weekend of the franchise so far, it'll still be the second-biggest opening for a superhero movie of 2024 to date. Per TheWrap, "Venom: The Last Dance" is on track for an estimated $52 million debut at the domestic box office after grossing $22 million on Friday (including previews). That's...

Ryan Reynolds. Josh Brolin. Zazie Beets and a ton of se*ual jokes and gore. Deadpool 2 was a wild ride from start to finish. However, it was Sandra Bullock’s 2009 film that made the iconic collaboration happen!

Deadpool & Wolverine, which came out this summer, is the newest MCU movie. The film was very successful, breaking many box-office records and making over a billion dollars. With these numbers, things look good for both Deadpool and Wolverine in the MCU, and Ryan Reynolds recently hinted at part of that future.
Reynolds teased a new project by sharing a photo that looks like a Christmas-themed set. In the picture, he is partly in his Deadpool costume, hugging Leslie Uggams, who is famous for playing Blind Al in several projects.
This could be something small, like an ad or a commercial, but it might also lead to something bigger—a new MCU special.
The biggest hint that this could be a special comes from the background. If you look closely, you can see that the set has a Christmas theme. The MCU already had a Christmas special with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan continues to write new chapters in his feel-good comeback story, and this latest one is as an action star in Jonathan Eusebio’s Love Hurts.
After a nearly two-decade hiatus from acting, Quan won an Oscar for his supporting role as Waymond Wang in Daniels’ best picture-winning Everything Everywhere All at Once. It was a storybook second chance for an actor who grew disillusioned with acting, opting to quit and enroll in USC’s film program. It wasn’t until watching 2018’s Crazy Rich Asians that he felt the urge to test the waters for any new opportunities.
In Love Hurts, Quan’s character, Marvin Gable, is one of Milwaukee’s best real estate agents, and he, too, has also been enjoying his own second bite of the apple until his much darker past as a hitman comes back to haunt him. In the lead-up...

Ryan Reynolds might be all about breaking the fourth wall, but when it comes to one thing, he’s drawing a hard line. After teaming up with Brad Pitt for Deadpool 2—in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo—Reynolds had an experience that left him swearing off ever doing it again.

Months after Deadpool 2 was released in 2018, 20th Century Fox announced plans for Once Upon A Deadpool. The sequel was toned down from an R rating to PG-13 and filmmaker David Leitch returned to shoot a few new scenes, including a cameo from Fred Savage.
It made money but received a mixed response from fans and critics for being what many felt was ultimately a cash grab. Now, speculation is running rampant that we might get a Marvel Studios-produced Deadpool Holiday Special.
Deadpool & Wolverine star Ryan Reynolds took to Instagram last night to share some behind-the-scenes photos from a recent shoot with Blind Al actor Leslie Uggams. Look closely, and you'll notice that their apartment was decorated for Christmas. It seems some green screen work was also required.

In the future, everyone will get their own “John Wick”-esque action comedy. The next person to get one is Ke Huy Quan, and the movie is “Love Hurts,” in which Quan plays a former hitman who comes out of retirement for one last mission. On Tuesday, Universal released a trailer for the film, which opens in theaters early next year. It features Quan’s impressive stunt work scored by the ironically easy-listening tones of Celine Dion’s “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now.”
In his first lead role since winning the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his career-restoring performance in “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” Quan stars as Marvin Gable, a mild-mannered real estate agent with a secret past as an assassin that he’s trying to put behind him. Ryan Reynolds sure has changed the superhero genre with Deadpool but his run as Green Lantern will always remain a bit…um, questionable. While there are some DC fans who actually found the movie quite enjoyable, many simply want to cash in a favor over at Hydra to erase the film from their memories. Paramount Pictures' and director Edgar Wright's long-gestating adaptation of Stephen King's The Running Man is finally moving forward with Glen Powell in the lead role of Ben Richards, and the project has now added some A-list support in the form of Josh Brolin.
Deadline reports that Brolin is in final talks to play the "antagonist behind the violent reality show." However, Justin Kroll would later clarify that Brolin will not be playing the main villain, Damon Killian, but an unnamed producer on the series of the title.
Brolin played Thanos in Marvel Studios' Infinity Saga (there are rumors that he's set to return for Avengers: Secret Wars), as well as Cable in Deadpool 2. The highly in-demand actor recently passed on the offer to play Hal Jordan in the Dcu Lanterns series.
For those wondering, Brolin playing producer not Richard Dawson role, that is still open https://t.

Evan Peters has not only created his position in the industry as a phenomenal actor but has also become a significant part of Marvel Studios. Considering how he played the role of Todd Haynes in Kick-Ass and appeared as Peter Maximoff/Quicksilver in X-Men movies and Deadpool 2, Peters even appeared in Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha All Along Episode 6.

However, while the actor appeared in the Disney+ series as Agatha Harkness’ hostage and bewitched husband, Ralph Bohner, Evan Peters’ role seemed like a disgrace to his talent. Given that the actor has proven his skills in playing superhero roles in Marvel, Peters should have had a Chris Evans-like renaissance, if any. Unfortunately, his appearance as a character who isn’t even in the comics seemed simply outrageous.

There was a significant gap (over two years) between the first and second seasons of Prime Video's Invincible animated series, but we had been assured that the wait for season 3 wouldn't be as long, and that's now been confirmed thanks to a leaked teaser.
Invincible will return to our screens on February 6, 2025 - and there will be no pesky mid-season break!
We have no idea how long this promo will stay up (and wouldn't be surprised if an official version was released fairly soon), but it finds a now 19-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) meeting with Cecil Stedman (Walton Goggins) in a café in a similar set-up to the season 2 teaser with Allen the Alien.
Cecil is not happy (for a change) with Mark taking a lengthy break from crime-fighting, and tells the young hero that he needs more training if he hopes to face the oncoming Viltrumite threat. It's a fun teaser,...

Over the summer, Deadpool & Wolverine became the top-grossing R-rated film of all time, exceeding all expectations for the franchise. Critics gave it strong marks, and so did audiences. But if one were to offer a complaint, perhaps it’s that it could use a little bit more Peter, the endearingly dorky character who became a fan favorite thanks to Rob Delaney’s performance in Deadpool 2.
Well, ask and you shall receive.
In a deleted scene from the movie, Peter finds love, sharing a kiss with Loki‘s B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku). The Hollywood Reporter won’t spoil the rest, but you can watch the exclusive clip below.
The film hit digital on Oct. 1, and arrives on physical media on Oct. 22. In addition to deleted scenes like the one featuring Peter, there’s also featurettes and commentary from filmmaker Shawn Levy and star Ryan Reynolds, who co-wrote and produced alongside Levy.

Mike Mignola’s award-winning comic franchise “Hellboy” has been adapted into four motion pictures now, and this may be a controversial statement, but there’s never been a bad one. Guillermo del Toro’s “Hellboy” movies were ambitious and beautiful, especially “The Golden Army,” which ranks among his finest works. Neil Marshall’s “Hellboy” reboot stripped away the classiness and focused instead on the series’ freewheeling wildness, an unfocused but enjoyably weird adaptation. It isn’t popular but that doesn’t make it bad. Give it time. It’ll find its audience.
The new reboot, Brian Taylor’s “Hellboy: The Crooked Man,” will need more than time to find its fanbase. The cheapest entry in the series (by a wide margin) was released in Europe to little fanfare a month ago, then dumped on VOD in the United States this week when nobody was looking. Universal Pictures and Sega Corporation are teaming up on a feature film adaptation of the video game franchise “Shinobi,” the companies announced on Tuesday. Sam Hargrave, the filmmaker behind Netflix’s “Extraction” films, is attached to direct the “Shinobi” movie from a screenplay by Ken Kobayashi (“Sunny”).
The “Shinobi” series first debuted in 1987 as an arcade game and follows protagonist Joe Musashi as a modern-day ninja who confronts great evil. The franchise spans 14 games, including spinoffs, and ports, with over 5 million copies sold worldwide. A new entry in the series was revealed in late 2023.
The film comes on the heels of Universal’s video game adaptation success with “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” which grossed over $1.4 billion at the box office, and hit “Five Nights at Freddy’s” which made $290 million on a budget of just $20 million. Universal is also developing an adaptation of the video game “Ruiner” with “Planet of the Apes” director Wes Ball.

The dream team has finally been reunited and it's never felt like such a thrill. After Will Smith and Martin Lawrence joined forces once again for this year's surprisingly good "Bad Boys: Ride or Die," the former is set to reunite with one of the most brazen and unapologetically chaotic action filmmakers around -- and for a new original idea, to boot. The man who started the "Bad Boys" franchise in the first place, Michael Bay, is currently "in talks" to direct a movie known as "Fast and Loose" with Smith already slated to star. The exciting news was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, marking the first Bay/Smith collaboration since 2003's "Bad Boys II."
Now, if that title sounds familiar to you, that's because we previously reported on the production back when it was meant to be helmed by "Deadpool 2" and "Bullet Train" director David Leitch. He parted...

Ryan Reynolds has cemented his place as one of Hollywood’s most bankable stars, and the Deadpool franchise is at the heart of his meteoric success. The Canadian actor, known for his sharp wit and infectious charm, took a huge financial risk when he signed on to star in Deadpool with a relatively low salary compared to his blockbuster status. But in true Deadpool fashion, Reynolds proved that his earnings could have been astronomical if he hadn’t chosen to take a different approach.
Deadpool (2016): The Game Changer Credits: Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool & Wolverine / Walt Disney Studios
The first Deadpool movie, released in 2016, was a gamble for both 20th Century Studios and Ryan Reynolds. With a modest budget of $58 million, the studio wasn’t expecting the film to smash box-office records, but that’s exactly what it did. The MCU is gearing up to introduce the Mutants, something we’ve known since Disney acquired Fox. While you could argue that the Mutants have already made a few brief appearances, the X-Men themselves haven’t yet entered the MCU.
Although their full debut is still some time away, Marvel has promised a major introduction in the future.
Even though we don’t know all the details, it’s clear that Feige and Marvel are taking their time to get it right. The X-Men’s arrival in the MCU will be a major moment and will shape the franchise for years to come.
Given the importance of this debut, fans are understandably anxious about who Marvel will cast. With an already-established X-Men universe, comparisons between the old and new casts are inevitable.

The MCU will soon welcome the Mutants. This is nothing new, of course, as we have known this since Disney acquired Fox. You may argue that the Mutants have already made multiple appearances in the MCU, but the X-Men haven’t. Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds have shown that humor and teamwork can help propel a superhero movie to success. Their new film “Deadpool & Wolverine” is breaking box office records thanks partly to the comedic rapport between its two leading stars.
Jackman and Reynolds have fostered a playful rivalry for years through social media posts and joking comments during press tours. Audiences have enjoyed their banter, and it has become a hallmark of their joint appearances. Their mock feud takes center stage in the new film.
In a recent interview, Jackman recounted his brief early career as a birthday party clown named “Coco.” Along with a partner, he would perform without any specialized skills. At one ill-fated event, an 8-year-old dubbed Jackman a “crap” clown. Feeling he had to salvage the act, Jackman resorted to smashing eggs on his own head to elicit laughter – effectively ending his clowning days.

Director Todd Phillips returns with the highly anticipated sequel to his controversial 2019 Dceu adventure, Joker. The new film, Joker: Folie à Deux, brings back Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, the mentally disturbed criminal who becomes the Joker. Joining Phoenix is the iconic Lady Gaga (A Star is Born) as Harley Quinn, while Zazie Beetz reprises her role, albeit all too briefly, from the first movie. Irish actor Brendan Gleeson and Catherine Keener add gravitas to the cast.
Joker: Folie à Deux delves deeper into Arthur’s descent into madness, set against Gotham City’s criminal underworld. With a musical twist, Phoenix and Gaga share several striking performances together.
The story follows Arthur navigating life in Arkham Asylum five years after the first film’s events. His Joker persona becomes central to a legal battle where his lawyer (Keener) argues for his mental instability, while district attorney Harvey Dent seeks the death penalty.

Superheroes and other comic book characters often cause significant damage during their battles. While these heroes typically do not intend to inflict harm, collateral damage and casualties are an inevitable part of their conflicts.
However, there are instances when heroes choose to kill, believing it to be the only way to defeat their foes and achieve victory.
Characters like Batman and Superman may uphold a “no-kill” policy, but this is more of an exception than a standard. Generally, superheroes do not hesitate to eliminate threats, whether they be monsters, aliens, or other adversaries.
With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at the kill count of a particularly intriguing Marvel character—Deadpool. Known for his willingness to kill, Deadpool’s on-screen history is quite complex, yet when we examine all of his appearances (both MCU and non-mcu), his total kill count isn’t as high as one might expect.

Before rising to fame as Deadpool, a role he seemed destined for, Ryan Reynolds took on the character of Hal Jordan, the most iconic member of the Green Lantern Corps.
Initially, fans were excited about the film, but it quickly became clear after its release that it would be remembered for entirely different reasons.
Green Lantern faced numerous issues, with a storyline that lacked depth and failed to effectively introduce Hal Jordan’s transformation into a hero. The film was overly ambitious and overcrowded for an origin story, attempting to juggle Jordan’s character arc alongside cosmic elements like the Green Lantern Corps and the villain, Parallax, resulting in a generic and unfocused plot.
The movie also relied too heavily on CGI, which quickly became dated. The visual effects, especially Ryan Reynolds’ fully CGI suit, were often criticized for looking cartoonish and distracting. This has since become a long-running joke...

Before he achieved widespread fame by playing Deadpool, a character he was seemingly born to play, Ryan Reynolds was Hal Jordan, the most popular member of the Green Lantern Corps.
Fans were excited about the movie at first, but soon after the release it became evident that it’s going to be remembered for drastically different reasons.
‘Green Lantern’ had several issues, the storyline lacked depth and failed to properly introduce Hal Jordan’s journey as Green Lantern – it was too ambitious and too crowded for an origin story.
The plot was considered generic, trying to balance Jordan’s origin story with cosmic elements like the Green Lantern Corps and Parallax, the villain. The movie was also too heavily reliant on CGI, which didn’t age well even shortly after the film’s release.

2025 is set to be a significant year for the Dcu, which is built on the foundations of the former Dceu. Although Creature Commandos will be the first release, both James Gunn and Peter Safran have emphasized that the upcoming Superman movie marks the true beginning of the Dcu.

2025 will be a huge year for Dcu, a newly established cinematic universe on the remnants of the former Dceu. Despite ‘Creature Commandos’ releasing first, both Gunn and Safran stated in the past that the upcoming ‘Superman’ movie is the true start of the Dcu.
Not much is known about the movie plot-wise, but thanks to the set leaks and official announcements we know that the cast is pretty huge. What’s even better is that Gunn “borrowed” quite a few actors from the rival Marvel projects.
Due to this, we decided to summarize all ‘Superman’ actors that at one point appeared in Marvel projects.

Frank Grillo portrayed a notable villain Crossbones in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier,’ ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame.’ The actor famously stated that he almost got fired by Marvel a lot of times due to constantly leaking information.

The Multiverse Saga is building towards Avengers: Secret Wars. James Gunn’s Lanterns seems to be aiming to have a particular story in mind, one that might go back to Jon Stewart’s introduction in the comics. However, seeing that Green Lantern might be stuck on Earth for this particular show, there is one team-up from the comics that might be on the cards for Hal Jordan, apart from his new recruit Jon Stewart.
Among the many team-ups that Hal Jordan has had in the comics, one stands out to fans and fits into James Gunn’s tone for the Dcu. If Superman, which is seemingly stuffed with characters to the brink, is any indication about what’s to come, Lanterns might introduce a character that has nothing to do with Green Lantern’s mythos but is an integral part of Hal Jordan’s story.

Now, it remains to be seen who the studio will tap to play the military man-turned-intergalactic law enforcement John Stewart, who will be training under Hal when the Lanterns series gets going.

There are a slew of choices that WB could go with, from keeping Wayne T Carr from the Dceu to deciding on someone else who could take the role. But there is one actor in the Dceu who would be perfect for the role, and has in fact even essayed the role in animation: Aldis Hodge.

Actor Josh Brolin is one of the frequent collaborators of the Coen brothers, working with the acclaimed filmmakers on three movies. Here we are, then: Hellboy take three. After Guillermo del Toro’s superb 2004-to-’08 double bill and Neil Marshall’s bloated 2019 attempt to take things into harsher action-horror territory, we now get the purist’s approach. Directed by Brian ‘Crank’ Taylor, who also co-wrote the script with Hellboy creator Mike Mignola (drawing heavily on his limited-edition series), Hellboy: The Crooked Man strips away the fantastical spectacle and brings its diabolic hero down to ground level, as it were, in a gritty low-fi chiller.
Similarly to Matt Reeves’ The Batman, there’s thankfully no attempt to re-tell Hellboy’s origin story. We’re just dropped right into another day at the office — or rather field trip — picking up with Red and his obligatory attractive-female sidekick (Adeline Rudolph) while they’re transporting a magically mutated funnel-web spider from A to B. Shit swiftly goes south in a little train-crash/monster-tussle set-piece that...

Back in June, Dcu’s Lanterns scored a straight-to-series order under the HBO banner, which will be helmed by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King, with the Ozark creator set to serve as its showrunner. It was also speculated that the DC studios were eying to cast Josh Brolin as an experienced Hal Jordan, but it no longer seems to be the case.
