Sex & Nudity

  • Prostitutes are seen in the background of a scene. Not graphic/explicit in any way.
  • A woman gets ready for bath in her hotel room. She is briefly shown in her underwear. Not graphic/explicit.
  • 1 reference to an elderly lady not being able to have sex. Mild and will definitely fly over kids heads.
  • Brother Bull tells Imran to check a deceased woman's bra because the woman is an "infidel" who may have a passport hidden. Imran cannot bring himself to to this, considering it a violation of the woman, and he is deterred by the capture of a nearby man.
  • A woman writes a letter and stuffs it down her own cleavage (so it will be found on her body if she is killed; non-sexual).
  • As a man is beaten up, his shirt is opened, revealing his full upper body.
  • A buttocks of a nude infant is seen as the infant is bathing.
  • It is said that a woman was pregnant before she got married.
  • There is very little expression of sexuality and almost no nudity whatsoever in this movie. The most blatant example of sex is when a man remarks that he wants to buy a particular prostitute because her "nipples look sexy". Most of the sexual content is limited and only verbal, with any nudity being brief and non-sexual in nature (e.g. scenes of bathing).

Violence & Gore

  • News footage features heavy amounts of blood and gore; no viscera, but brief shot of brain matter on a police van's windshield and shots of broken/severed fingers, feet and legs.
  • Very frequent scenes of civilians getting shot by terrorists with blood.

Profanity

  • Uses of "God/Allah/Christ", "oh my God", "damn", many uses of "fuck", "sisterfucker," "pigfucker", "nipples", "pig", "ass"/"arse", "shit," "bastard", "sexy" and "bitch."
  • Some brief milder language/insults, uses of "beggar", "ugly", "wrinkled old", and similar mild insults/name-calling.
  • Brief scene of scatological humour while the terrorists marvel at the concept of a toilet, remarking that for Indian people, "even getting rid of their shit is fun!". The toilet is repeatedly heard flushing. A man is also told to pee in a food dish in the absence of an available bathroom, which upsets him.
  • A man screams loudly, repeatedly, that he needs to "piss". He is told to urinate in a food tray so as not to risk being shot at while trying to locate a bathroom.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Contains infrequent depictions of alcohol/tobacco consumption. Wine is s drunk with meals in a restaurant. A man offers a distressed woman hard liquor to calm her down. The film as a whole does not endorse or depict substance misuse, and all featured substances are legal in the film's setting.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The film establishes itself as a true story, this knowledge may be upsetting to some viewers.
  • Numerous characters die and this includes main characters, which may be distressing to some viewers. The father of an infant baby, a female desk concierge, an ex-Soviet police spy and multiple others are beaten, killed and shouted at.
  • Many scenes of blood and gunshots, grenades thrown, building set on fire.
  • Some religious extremism and racial bigotry which may be offensive and intense to some viewers. This includes a woman being accused of terrorism because she speaks Arabic, men shouting about killing in the name of Allah, talk of the Soviet-Afgan War, and uses of offensive slurs.
  • A scene at the end shows a real-life memorial for the victims. May be emotional to some viewers.
  • A woman caring for an infant hides in a closet and tries to keep the baby silent as two gunmen walk through their room and search for people to kill. It's a very tense scene.
