Sex & Nudity

  • Oaken and his family are seen in a sauna wearing only towels around their waists. He takes his off and gives it to Olaf, but the camera angle changes at the moment of removal. (His crotch is barely visible before the shot cuts to Olaf getting hit in the face with a towel.)
  • Olaf at one point asks Oaken for one of those "awkwardly tastefully revealing towels" that the family is so fond of wearing. (Personal opinion deleted.)
  • Olaf eats a fruitcake in one bite, but it comes out his rectum in one piece, still steaming-hot, and Olaf says, "That went right through me."
  • Olaf parks a fruitcake at a public outhouse.
  • At the sauna, Olaf removes his coals as if they were clothing.

Violence & Gore

  • Olaf is chased by wolves in a dark forest.
  • Sven high fives Olaf and accidentally knocks his twig arm off in the process, hurting him slightly.
  • The first family that Olaf visits gives him a candy cane, which he thinks he is supposed to use as a replacement nose. When the kid tells him that he's supposed to eat the candy cane, he says, "Eat my new nose?" confusedly. Not particularly suggestive, given that Olaf is a snowman.
  • After seeing a family hang stockings above an open fire, Olaf sarcastically says, "That sounds safe..." Particularly dangerous to Olaf himself because he is a snowman.
  • Olaf's arms get pulled off when he gets swung around and thrown onto a windmill blade, but the person grasping his arms reattaches them shortly after.
  • When a Jewish family shows Olaf how they light the menorah, the tip of one of Olaf's fingers catches on fire, and a kid blows it out before he notices.
  • While taking notes about how one family decorates a Christmas tree, Olaf interprets it as cutting down a tree, then dressing its corpse with candles. This frightens the kids, and their mother whacks the father on the head.
  • Olaf holds a glass bottle up to his eye, but it shatters almost immediately. This prompts him to say, "This is unsafe now" and bury the glass shards in the snow.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • People at a party clink tankards, but no indication is given as to what they contain.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Wolves chase Olaf through a forest.
  • Some viewers may be startled by Olaf jumping out of places and yelling "Surprise!" prematurely.
  • While singing "The Ballad of Flemmingrad", Kristoff mentions that trolls remember Flemmingrad by shoving grass up the nostrils of a statue of said troll. After he unveils a troll decoy with a lot of grass shoved up its nose, Anna and Elsa react in disgust to the grass in the decoy's nostrils.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • While fooling around with his sauna towel, Olaf accidentally knocks open the sauna door, and a gift box falls onto a box of coals within the sauna, launching one of the coals into Olaf's hand. The hot coal burns his hand, and he throws it at a squirrel, but it bounces back at his sleigh and lands on top of flammable decor. Lots of combustible objects catch on fire.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Olaf did not do the job of finding Christmas traditions. So he fell into sadness.
