A new musical about the life and career of Neil Diamond will debut on Broadway. The as-yet-untitled show will center around a score comprising some of Diamond’s biggest hits. Oscar-nominated writer Anthony McCarten will write the book, while Tony-winner Michael Mayer will direct the show.
“I’ve always loved Broadway,” Diamond said in a statement. “The inspiration for many of my early songs came from shows like West Side Story, My Fair Lady and Fiddler on the Roof, so it seems only fitting to bring my songs to The Great White Way.

Ali Stroker made history as the first actor in a wheelchair to be nominated and win a Tony Award when she took home best featured actress in a musical for her role as Ado Annie Carnes in the Oklahoma! musical revival. During the award show on Sunday, the 31-year-old took a moment to talk about the importance of representation when she accepted her award on stage. "This award is for every kid who is watching tonight who has a disability, a limitation, a challenge, who has been waiting to see themselves represented in this arena. You are," she said.
The actress got her start on the competition show The Glee Project in 2012 and later guest-starred on season four of Glee. In 2015, she became the first actor in a wheelchair in Broadway history when she originated the role of Anna in the revival of Spring Awakening. Congrats to Stroker on her monumental award!

The new musical “The Prom” won over industry folks with its big heart and bevy of Broadway insider jokes. But many wondered where each member of the ensemble cast would compete at this year’s Tony Awards. While the Tony Administration Committee decided Brooks Ashmanskas would be the sole Lead Actor contender, they went the opposite route with the women. Beth Leavel and Caitlin Kinnunen will each compete for Lead Actress in a Musical. So can they both land bids?
Leavel, a Tony winner for “The Drowsy Chaperone,” plays vain Broadway diva Dee Dee Allen. She and her fellow thespians head to a small town in Indiana to help Emma (Kinnunen) bring her girlfriend to the high school prom…and scoop up some much needed press in the process. It’s the type of over the top, scene-chewing role in which Leavel always excels. Two of her big numbers bring...

We never knew that we needed a Mötley Crüe biopic in our lives, but now that it's happening, it feels so right. Based on Mötley Crüe's bestselling 2001 autobiography The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band, this long-awaited biopic will follow the story of the heavy metal band's rise from obscurity to super stardom and international fame during the course of the 1980s. You may not recognize all of the names of the cast, but even if the name Iwan Rheon doesn't sound familiar, you'll recognize plenty of the other shows and movies he's been in.
Thirty-three-year-old Welsh actor Iwan Rheon portrays Mick Mars - lead guitarist of Mötley Crüe - in the film, which makes sense, as the actor has been singing and songwriting since the age of 16. However, he actually got his start in theater, his first starring role being Moritz Stiefel in...

For many musical fans, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s first collaboration, Oklahoma!, is one of the most influential American musicals ever made. When it opened on Broadway in 1943 it was revolutionary for its blending of song, plot and character — and is now considered a masterpiece. But anything can become hackneyed and corny with age. So that’s why when director Daniel Fish radically reimagined revival of the classic — his attempt to expose the repression, lust, and violence that always lay beneath the surface of this seminal work — fans and critics were ecstatic.
