So far first impression is amazing. Starting the binge watch. I'm a die hard Slayer & Winchester fan I hope this stays on par.

Three Minutes

Like, that's a lot of wattage for a road-side sign out in the middle of nowhere, isn't it?

HEY mister bus driver:

1) Maybe notify someone that you have a flat tire? You have a radio, yes?

2) Aren't you in a union? Don't change the tire yourself.

3) Do you even have a jack?

Why does a woman have to go so far away to pee? It's not like anybody can see her stuff.

At 01:55- Hollywood cliche #132: keep yelling: "hello?" until the monster gets you.

HEY mister bus driver:

4) Maybe honk the horn to alert the woman who is peeing in the scary woods that she should come back to the bus before you drive away and leave her to die?

Oops. Too late.

Like, EVERYBODY knows this is a bad place for a bus to get a flat tire yet there is no 7-11 or McDonalds nearby for shelter?

It's been less than 3 minutes and my wife is already getting tired of this.

I'm going out on a limb here, OK? The good guys win and the bad guys lose?

Great start to an amazing series

The show starts off with introducing you to wynonna and then just goes up from there. Each character interaction is a mix of funny and serious. Great pilot

Starts off and pulls the viewer in immediately.

Starts off and pulls the viewer in quickly with a murder mystery. You immediately feel for main character Wynonna and many can identify with her brokenness. Also this show has a great way with character introductions. Waverly is introduced to the audience with a bang.

Wynonna and Waverly

Loved the sister relationship from the beginning in this episode. Great introduction to both. Action, humor, mystery, western feel, this show has it all!

Sell trash by sexing it within 12 mins
rustgold1 January 2022
There's a saying, you can sell trash by sexing it. 12 minutes it took this to run out of story and insert pointless sex with some virtually random dude. Why did they feel that they needed it? There was some promise in it. However the story has woeful sound control, making it difficult to understand what's being said, and jumping straight into a sex scene with some virtually random guy that Wynonna hadn't seen for however many years & just met up with 10 seconds prior simply highlights a lack of storytelling ability.

What a beginning!

This episode started out strong and kept going with the perfect pacing. Most pilot episodes I watch, pacing ends up going screwy - either they cram too much into too short a time, or they start out slow and take forever to set up. Not so with Wynonna Earp! It has the perfect balance, and was what clued me in that this was going to be an amazing show.

We meet most of our main cast, and they are all engaging and leave me wanting to know more about them! (And we meet one of my favourites - Doc Holliday! One of my other favourites doesn't show up quite yet, but we'll get there.)

Watch For Yourself

Please ignore rustgold's review. They have no clue what they're talking about. There is literally no sex scene in this episode. The "virtually random dude" is actually not random at all nor is the scene pointless.

Here's why: Gus mentions this (not) random guy was with her Uncle when he died. Clearly Wynonna was playing along with his advances to get more information about her Uncle from him. And guess what! She gets good information that keeps the plot moving forward. So, it's safe to say there's no lack of storytelling ability.

Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion and not everyone is going to like this show. But I had to call this review out because of its unfair rating due to the reviewer's severe lack of media literacy.

Anyways... this episode is a solid start to the series. Lots of information and laying the groundwork for what's to come.
