- TriviaThe plot of this episode, while likely making direct reference in its title to the 1958 Tony Curtis / Sydney Poitier film The Defiant Ones, in which two criminals chained together flee the law, draws more directly from John Boorman's 1968 Hell in the Pacific, in which an American officer (Lee Marvin) and a Japanese officer become stranded on a Pacific island during World War II. The two must come to some understanding in order to live. This film was remade in the 1980s as Enemy Mine, about a human and an alien stranded together who must rely on each other to survive. The trope is a good one and still works well in the context of Star Wars Rebels.
- GoofsWhen discussing with Agent Kallus how the temperature will fall at night, Zeb says that he "thought Geonosis was a desert planet" (they did not crash on Geonosis but rather one of its moons). It is a common misconception that a desert is a hot environment. Deserts are defined by their (lack of) precipitation, not their temperature. The largest desert on Earth is in Antarctica.
- Quotes
Zeb Orrelios: I see you modified it for close-quarters fighting. Impressive. But *you* shouldn't have it. It's not a trophy! Now hold still.
Zeb Orrelios: I didn't take it as a trophy. The Lasat Guardsman I faced, he... fought well, died with honor. He gave me the rifle before...
Zeb Orrelios: The Boosahn Keeraw.
Agent Kallus: The what?
Zeb Orrelios: The Boosahn Keeraw. The Lasat warrior way. When one is defeated by a superior foe, he gifts his weapon.

Enemy mine
There's not much to add after a title like the one I've choose... This episode is not bad for the series but it's still a rip off of a great movie.
Two enemies, Zeb and Agent Kallus, are stranded on a dangerous and have to trust each other in order to survive is exactly what happened in Enemy Mine.
I won't blame anybody for this, let say "inspiration", on the contrary I know that the original movie wasn't that original in itself. The only thing I wish is that those who weren't born or just haven't seen the 1985's movie with Dennis Quaid and Louis Gossett Jr. will know of it and maybe be intrigued to see it, if it turn out to have some echoes in the public then I'll say that Disney have made a great job.
