Fun movie to watch because of unique characteristics of Dileep. He played this role well.
just a lot annoying twists in the story like 70% of all other films that comes out of india.
I will still watch this again, somewhat a good message if you have marriage problems. But everyone's problems is different and spouse is different. Would you reconnect with the person who's been giving you death threats or physical abuse? Even though it's coming from a Christian and a female ? You can never change a person but only god can. Blah blah blah
How long is that wait ???

Barely a comedy

King Liar is a film that had the prospect of being a comedic goldmine based on the topic it chooses but greatly misses the mark. One would struggle to find anything good about the movie except for the occasional laughs in the first half. I'm not a fan of Dileep going out of his way to act in a very childish way, and that sort of acting is too common in King Liar. Don't get me wrong, I believe that he's a strong actor, but when he speaks in a heavily exaggerated voice half the time in the movie or literally runs in circles around the room screaming nothing in particular for a whole minute in one scene, you begin to wonder whether the movie was seriously made for an adult audience. Except for a few hits, most of the comedy was just child's play. And lastly, the story is one that starts off as believable but loses most of its logic along the way. So unless I am trapped in a room with nothing else to do for a few days, I'd skip this movie for the sake of my own sanity.
So formulaic .....

This film has been made at least a million times in Malayalam cinema. A man (Dileep) pretends to be someone that he is not. The whole film is about how he tries to keep his fake persona going. It is amusing in parts. Dileep has acted in so many films like King Liar. Only his sidekicks keep changing. Balu Varghese plays the sidekick who used to be played by Harishree Ashokan, Suraj Venjaramood, Salim Kumar or Aju Varghese. Madonna Sebastian, the heroine has too much make up on. It is hard to take her seriously. She must have been cast as a sex symbol. She did a decent job in Premam but is wasted here.
You could watch this film for a laugh and if you have nothing better to do. But if you have nothing better to do and you watch King Liar, then there must be something wrong with your life :).

Warning: Spoilers
This movie was quite a good show although I looked at the watch twice thinking when is it getting over. Lying is being portrayed as an admirable skill and the truth of it is quite debatable. From a critics perspective, movie makers are liars and they make beautiful lies look real on the screen. A young boy studying well till 7th grade and then being discouraged by a prejudiced teacher is not quite acceptable from a scientific point of view. A child that smart wouldn't have to fake a first rank in MBA. He could've easily done an online or distant MBA. So that sounds very much like a lie. Going down the path of lying and faking everything is not something great or to be admired. It is nothing that we want to teach to our kids at least. We have to accept that lying is the starting point of all evil in this world. Sometimes the chain of comedy went at a rocket pace and the audience missed most of it. The story goes on to psycho-therapy and subliminal messaging being used to alter women's perspectives which is not acceptable from a feminist perspective. Not all women are that suggestible. The fashion show and beauty competition sequences can make a professional fashion designer or beauty pageant organizer vomit. Nothing more can be expected from a lying world of creators who says satyameva jayate, 'may the truth win. '
Pure Entertaining movie

The movie's first half has one after another comedy scenes that makes you die laughing and at the end of the movie, a very meaningful message is conveyed. Dileep's strong acting and Balu Varghese's hilarious moments make this movie one of my all-time favourites.
