Want to fall in love all over again??....I'll recommend you all to watch MONCHORA by Sandip Ray...This movie is a cure to the diabetic mind.....Audience has always compared Sandip Ray with Satyajit Ray...After watching Monchora, I'm sure the audience will now stop comparing him with his father ......Such a beautiful story narrated in a fantastic way...It doesn't take foreign locales and astronomical budget to narrate and touch hearts, our own 'Tilottoma' Kolkata still can be such a superb backdrop of a love story...At the premiere, Sandipbabu had rightly said Monchora is an 'acting based movie'...This movie is an example of acting brilliance (in many cases, under- acting has tuned the film to the highest chord)....Paran Banerjee was superb...June Malia was very good...Saswata Chatterjee was at his usual best...immaculate timing..and folks, if you remember PK...Amir Khan did a stellar scene in the lockup where he delivered the word "Achha" in several ways...in Monchora you'll see Saswata delivered our commonly used "Achha" in such a fabulous way that in that one shot he proved why he's considered as one of the best actors of our time.....and Abir Chatterjee...My God!!!...those who are used to his sleuth avatars as Feluda and Byomkesh....Monchora is a revelation....Helplessness, man with a mission...and an undercurrent of love.....all portrayed brilliantly by him...and Raima Sen....my personal opinion is she is the Best actress in the Suchitra-Moon moon clan..and yes, I can take on the world for commenting this...She's an absolute visual delight....she will definitely make you reminisce the love whom you've hidden in your heart away from the world....Lucky for me, I have not read this story by Saradindubabu...with the midas touch of Sandip Ray...Monchora seems straight out from any O.Henry story.....The film has the eternal message hidden in it...to be happy in life...one should not be judgmental about persons..and to be grateful to persons who have helped you in life even if that requires you to go that extra mile.....Monchora leaves you with a sweet taste in mind once you leave the movie theatre...and it lingers on.........

Sandip Ray excellently portrayed Saradindu Bandopadhyay's master piece novel into silver screen! Elegant screen presences of Paran Bandopadhyay, Saswata Chatterjee, Raima Sen, June Malia and last but not the least Abir Chatterjee made this film to be considered as 'Cult'.
