Season 4 Finale was phenomenal
heidi-717-70630027 July 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This ending of this season was PHENOMENAL. Obviously Bea was going to die this season - whether by her own hand, or the hand of someone else. She wanted to kill herself, but what an opportunity - kill herself to be with Ally (or so she thinks) AND get Joan locked up forever (because how can she get away with this one??) I think the thing everyone is missing is that I don't think the writers are writing for our ENTERTAINMENT - they are writing an honest look at how raw and painful prison can be. Her daughter died. The first person in years she's had a real, vulnerable relationship with is now dying too? Why would she want to just stay alive.. in prison??

I knew her death was coming from the first episode. A few minutes before she ended her life (when I too thought Ally died) said out loud "Bea is gonna kill herself." Minutes later my prediction came true.

I am so thrilled for season 5. Ally's alive. Joan's coming back. There is potential for Franky to make a comeback (let's not forget how much focus and time was spent on watching her take the gun, and keep it in her possession - someone made a brilliant point about the potential of it being a breach of probation).

The show is amazing. Now we are left with a group of girls who are going to have to deal with the loss of Bea - another real experience that some inmates deal with.

Yes, the show started with Bea, but it does not have to end with her end.

The end of an era
SJulien1224 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
During the first four seasons, Wentworth's quality has remained stable if it has not improved and this end of season proves that this is not a series like any other. After the penultimate episode, we knew that this feeling of happiness could not continue. With Bea's death and Allie's condition, their love story has something Shakespearean about it. This episode also reinforces the idea that The Freak is somehow invincible. The evolution of Bea's haircut is something that I find quite interesting. Smith was a hairdresser and her state of mind is translated by her hair each season. The first two seasons, she had the same one that she had on the outside (except a little bit more red in season 2), the third season, she had the badass top dog haircut and in this season, the coloring of her hair faded. Bea's last word to Allie are heartbreaking as she tells her to take care of her daughter while they waited for her. We lose the protagonist of the story and an extraordinary actress, but I don't understand the dissatisfaction of some people with Bea's death. It is, among other things, twists like this that make Wentworth a series apart. Her departure was a good decision, but the fact remains that there is a before and an after Bea Smith's death.

How A Plan Turns Out
ZegMaarJus19 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Bea found Allie at the showers unconscious, Allie was brought to the medical unit after that to the hospital. Bea punched Caz to the ground because she thinks Caz drugged Allie. Ferguson clearly revealed she drugged Allie. Sonia shaves Maxine's hair off. Ferguson her conviction is today. Shayne holds Franky under shot with a gun. Niles Jesper, one of the witnesses in Ferguson her case gets killed by Jake in order for Ferguson. All the Indictments against Ferguson are erased because Niles Jesper was killed. Ferguson may leave the prison now. Caz is the new top dog at Wentworth prison. Ferguson and Bea fight the last battle with each other, after some threatenings to each other Bea stabbed herself with the screwdriver while Ferguson has it in her hand, after that Ferguson stabs it trough her. At that moment Allie wakes up and Bea dies at the courtyard. A really good Season 4 final and also nice action, blood, drama and thrilling moments. With the emotional death of Bea Smith very well played by Danielle Cormack.

Excellent series and a bombshell ending for Season 4
AlyssaTate7125 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I stumbled across this series during a lull in my usual streaming watchlist. I was skeptical, after watching several seasons of Orange is the New Black, about how another women in prison series would fare. Being severely disappointed in the rather lazy writing and sub-standard plots from the last few seasons of OitNB, I wasn't sure this show would be deserving of watching. I just finished season 4 and all I can say is wow. The writing is superb, the storylines are excellent and the acting is top notch. The characters are so well written and portrayed by the actors, that I am now heavily emotionally invested in this series, again, unlike OitNB. This season finale was heart-wrenching and the ending had a complete twist to it that I didn't see coming.(ie the last few seconds)

I can't even

While a compelling ending, it breaches past what I would deem an acceptable level of prison shenanigan's, like there is just no way that these showdowns could occur. From a tv side, I'm riveted. From a reality side, it doesn't add up.

This is the worst plot I know...
ahmad_ali-268263 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Honestly, I enjoyed watching this series with all its previous seasons.

At the end of the third season, I felt that the story of the series was complete, and I wondered why there is a fourth season?

Bea Smith has evolved into a prison boss, and junkie Joan Ferguson has deteriorated, so what's next? Nothing, are we going to see repetition of the same ideas? Yes, that's what happened... We're back to watching Bea's hesitation versus Ferguson's cunning, and that's something we've seen over the past 3 seasons, so it was pretty boring...

The worst is the death of "Bea Smith"! I have no problem when the main character dies in the series, but the problem is when the main character dies and the series continues... They spoiled the whole series, and I regretted the time I wasted on it, and I had to quit watching this series, and I also had to go back and rate all the previous episodes (in every seasons) 1 star...

Tip: Don't waste your time watching this garbage series...
