Best villain in K drama

The good points of this show outweigh some flaws.

This is a revenge melodrama about a son trying to exonerate his wrongly accused father of murder. There are some exciting court battles, lots of corruption and the best makjang male villain played perfectly by Namgoong Min. He provides the much needed laugh out loud black comedy as he plays the worst chaebol son you can imagine. Rapist murderer & drug addict you name it, he's it.

Flaws: 20 episodes was too much. 16 would have eliminated some repetitive scenes of angst and flashbacks. Although things do move along with some nice twists and cliff hangers that keep you tuned in, much could have been edited out. Also there wasn't enough romance between the cute leads. Park Min Young is suited to her role since she acts serious roles even better than rom com. Yoo Seong Ho is quite good as the man with a photographic memory although he has some tiresomely repetitive scenes. The conflicted lawyer played by Park Sung Woong is an interesting character.

cry baby men but good

Two hours into it looks good has a good story good actors but i sware every adult man in this cry every scene, i know Koreans are not like this i hope they nut up and act like real men going forward, cry cry cry please......

A classic K-drama to treasure!

I was hesitant to watch this drama at first. Though I've already seen some clips of it on Youtube, I thought it was boring and mediocre. I want to stay away from melodramatic and tear-jerking dramas as much as possible, and just stick with light, fun and comedic stuff.

This is one of those that carry heavy loads of emotions, which in the midst of doubt, became one of my favorites. Great story line. Very interesting yet "frustrating" plot. I got hooked in the first fifteen minutes run of the pilot episode.

Although I'm more into cheesy and romantic kind of a story, Remember is an exception, along with Angry Mom. It talks more about crime, conspiracy, political aspects, bureaucracy and the like with very minimal romance. Sure, there are specks of unintentionally hilarious scenes, but I have no idea about the practices and implementation of laws in S.Korea, so I can't pinpoint things out for discussion. Besides, those are too little to distract viewers and ruin the entire episodes or even the story line for that matter.

Otherwise, Namgoong Min and Yoo Seung-ho's acting is phenomenal! The first, stirred my anger with his crazy 'stunt' and outre behavior ,while the latter burst me into tears, almost the entire drama. The affliction of the main character(s) is real. The emotional impact is 'severe'. It affected me really hard.

I highly recommend this drama. It's worth it! And it's worth it hundred times!

A Realistic ending makes this drama memorable

One of the beautiful dramas that you will always remember. All the actors have acted well most importantly the leads, the antagonist and Park sung woong. The reason why we want the protoganist to succeed is because the character arc of the antagonist(Namgoong Min) is well written and when you see the antagonist losing in the end, you will feel for him too inspite of all his sins. The ending was more realistic. It just made to feel that this is what life is. A huge credit should go to the writers for the male and female lead's characterization, it felt more natural.

Must Watch

This is the only kdrama I've watched, and I'm not disappointed. I cried like a crybaby at the end of the finale episode. It's so damn good.

A SOLID MASTERPIECE

I only have three words for this KDrama, Nam Gyu-Man!!!! If there was an award for best villain in a KDrama i would award him THRICE because he DELIVERED. The story revolves around a boy who tries to get justice for his father who was wrongly framed for murder and a chaebol's son who thinks the world is at his feet. It is honestly one of the best KDramas I have watched as it evokes so many emotions at once.

Everyone did their job well, but I really loved the villain. I found myself rooting for him even in times I know I should not have been rooting for him. His character was really well done and it came out so naturally and this was the best part for me. This KDrama shows how far some rich people would go just to cover their wrong deeds. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

Decent Melodrama

Whew, that was quite a drama! I don't usually write reviews with spoilers in them, but I'm going to make an exception for this drama because there was so much good mixed in with some bad. First off, they REALLY tortured poor Jin-Woo throughout this show. Jin-Woo was an interesting character, and Seung-Ho did a great job portraying him, although I have watched his more recent works and he has definitely improved as an actor since this show. He did an awesome job portraying Jin-Woo as a naive and trusting high-schooler in the first 4 flashback episodes, and then he was equally good portraying a changed Jin-Woo who was still kind and caring but a little colder and a lot smarter. The fact that at the end of the show he got Alzheimer's was so awful, I literally felt like screaming every time he forgot what he was saying during a courtroom scene. I'm not sure if someone so young would actually get Alzheimer's, but I suppose because of the photographic memory aspect, it could have accelerated the disease? Easily the best part of the show was the relationship ups and downs between Jin-Woo and his lawyer Park Dong-Ho, played by the fantastic Sung-Woong. I know that Jin-Woo was the main character, and I really loved him, but Dong-Ho was the star character of this show for me. He was a fascinating semi-villain with an amazing accent (or dialect? I'm not sure but I loved how he talked), and charisma just oozing out of his outrageous suits. He was cruel at times, and loving at others, and I just with there had been more scenes with him and Jin-Woo. Okay, now for the bad - this series felt dated, particularly the camera and lighting felt like an older, low-budget series. Also this was definitely a melodrama: there were parts that were over-acted, the music at times felt overly dramatic, and the story was a bit farfetched at times. Nam Gyu was the clear villain, and it was at times painful to watch his performance, but at the same time I can't really find fault with him because he was SO committed that I was also impressed at times. The plot also felt heavy-handed in places, and it felt slow around the episode 13 mark. Overall, it was a good drama, and I think it is worth a watch. (6 out of 10 is not a bad rating! I watch things that are 6 out of 10 and sometimes they are great lol).

Min Namkoong shines

Min Namkoong is fenomenal in this. He is the main star of the show. His ability to play the extremely disturbed and insane Nam Gyu Man is out of bounds. High praise for his acting skills.

I hope he'll show more of his skills in other projects.

About the show/story: This show once again shows the extreme differences between the "upper" and "lower" class. Money buys everything, and money thinks it is above the law, even the law itself.

The show was highly frustrating in that way.

It was a nice procedural law series with a somewhat satisfying outcome.

The loose ends are all tied up and you can help but feel a bit triumphant at the ending of show.

Dumbest male main character

The first 4 episodes were dedicated entirely for their backstory and they did an outstanding poor job in that regard. These first 4 episodes were painful to sit through, unbelievably boring, lacking any interesting or gripping elements and it failed to lay the groundwork for things to look forward to in the future episodes. If that wasn't enough, the main story was mostly shelved and the subsequent episodes turned into side cases with slight relation to the bad guy until it returned to the main case in the last few episodes. Although the male lead was labeled as a genius and has super powers but his character proved to be otherwise. Namkoong Min playing a pathetic low-life chaebol playboy villain was definitely a miscast. It would more suitable for him to play a smart cunning merciless villain but the director was blind. On the other hand, Jeon Kwang Ryul playing the main victim with Alzheimer and being a good loving father was weird, another miscast and oversight from the production. The trend continues Park Min Young playing a prosecutor, it's just not it.
