Kinda disappointing flick, could have been so much better

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Gautas Iskvietimas" (2016) is a dull but sometimes funny take on police forces of Lithuania. Unfortunately it could have been so much better, nevertheless it's nice that they even tried and while not many jokes in here works, effort made is welcomed.

Overall, while it is impossible to comment on plot or script or directing of this flick, it has some funny moments, but overall impression isn't that good. Acting was nice, script had it's moments, overall idea is great in here but most of jokes fells flat very soon. I could recommend this movie if you are with some friends at home and there is some alcohol involved, but to see it in a movie theater - there are better things to see there unfortunately.

Very disappointing

Watching this movie was pretty dull experience. About 20 minutes in I was considering to turn it off but kept going because I was expecting something good. Did I get something good? Sadly, no. Most of the jokes fell flat, only small chunk of them had me smiling.

To be honest, it was very disappointing because the people working in front of the camera are considered pretty good here in Lithuania. Unfortunately, it couldn't help this film. It's basically like the episode of Cops. What's funny is that the episodes of Cops are more entertaining for me than this movie and I'm not even the fan of that show.

All in all, I can see someone enjoying this film watching it with their friends. That's not good enough though. I will surely skip the sequel which is coming out this month.

amateur attempt to imitate a movie
dmicura31 August 2016
I feel genuinely sorry for every single person who spent their money to see this "film" on the big screen. it feels like a bunch of friends just had a party and for the sake of entertaining themselves videoed some impromptu satirical skits loosely based on a TV cop show set in Lithuania. In short, some of the worst points are:

  • Absence of any script, just a number of poor improvisations based on a loose synopsis;

  • the acting was just terrible;

  • Use of drone shots was overdone and too annoying but that probably is the least problem with this flick.

  • Again, barely any good jokes, very amateurish.

Overall it is just unfair to call this a movie charge admission to see it.
