"No for sale ranch no more! Can you believe we did it? Thank you girls for believing in me."

A husband, father, pastor and friend was so happy to finally get the place of their dreams. But this happiness was to be short lived when he was killed serving a second tour.

Now behind in bills and facing foreclosure on that dream, Rebecca sells the last memory her daughter Grace, had gotten from her father. A speckled horse he named Faith. Grace no longer wants to attend church or see the pastor's face because he reminds her of her dad's funeral. "She still had her hope (speaking of her mother). When dad died I lost my faith."

This is a very interesting film which includes reflections of Mike's life throughout the movie. Sharing the memories that light the corners of their minds; giving the viewer a clearer insight as to who Mike really was and the effect he had on all those around him.

A mother, through her faith, expresses her desire that she and Grace stay strong and together in order to overcome their heart wrenching loss and other ongoing battles. In the midst of trying to get Grace on board, her daughter asks, "What's the point in prayer if I don't believe the words? To which Rebecca replies, "You know your dad is still with us. He is always going to be here."

All these pressures begin taking a toll on Rebecca who is starting to doubt if she has the strength to get through it all. She feels like God's not hearing her prayers. Then Pastor Williams reminds her that with hope and faith she will be able to fight when she feels like quitting

A keepsake for peace sake is given to Grace to honor Mike's last request. And you will have to see the movie to find out what it is and how it all turns out.

What I took away from this film was sometimes in life we just have to ride on faith to ride out life's storms---in order to see God's plan; even though we are clueless to the conclusion. Because He is truly the God of the faithful and He still works in mysterious ways.

On my website gave this a 3 1/2 stars.

Military Death Benefits?
jla-5563918 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The movie was okay. Slow moving. First, I wondered why Rebecca and Grace didn't have jobs. Second, shouldn't she have received a Military Death Benefit lump sum, and subsequent monthly payments? If that were the case, I can't believe that things would have been so dire.

Soooo cheesy
sylvana-933859 August 2020
Starting with the unlikely situation that John Schneider would be called back into duty at his age (seriously, how desperate is the military? He's 60 for Pete's sake) and there's an 18 year age difference between him and his wife's character. The dialogue is bad, the actors aren't great and the movie is really stilted and predictable. I would like to point out that one reviewer was really upset about the white horse being called white and the lead rope being dropped... White horses are called white and a well trained horse will stamd still when a lead rope is dropped, also no horse in the history of ever have tripped over their lead rope and broken a leg.

Why didn't mom get a job?

Warning: Spoilers
It seems like a very easy solution. It seems so simple. Why didn't mom tell her daughter about selling the horse? This movie is bad.

Disappointed in casting
wcabwater21 June 2020
Why not cast age appropriate actors? Disappointed that a Christian movie casts a man 18 years older than the "wife". Ageism. Alive and thriving even in faith based movies.

Never Give Up or Lose Hope!
rannynm8 May 2020
This film is most appropriate for people who are Christians. The plot is quite slow moving and repetitive. The topic of arguments between characters does not change much. It is definitely not mysterious in any way and there aren't many surprises. Although the message is quite uplifting and can help any person.

The storyline entails a mother Rebecca, a father Mike, and their teenage daughter Grace, who move to a large, countryside ranch. But everything goes downhill when Grace's father is deployed in the military and passes away in battle. After this, she and her mom struggle to pay the mortgage and must do anything to save the farm, including hold on to hope, have faith and believe that not all is lost.

Grace (Grace Van Dien) is a very emotionally driven character. She cares so much about the ranch and will do anything she can to make sure that she and her mom can keep it and continue to live a full life together. What really stands out about Hope Ranch is the music. The tempo and instruments in each scene tie together in a way that is expressive of emotion and the events that either follow or are presently happening. It happens to be my favorite part as well. It helps the element of varying emotions shine and helps viewers to connect more with the storyline and the situation that the characters are in.

The message of this movie is that you should never give up or lose hope, and that if you persevere through tough times, it will only make you stronger than ever before. It is definitely successful in portraying its message. The message is most certainly positive and uplifting. There isn't any negative language or behavior. This film definitely promotes the admired social behavior of helping others in need and sticking together in times of difficulty, which is an effective choice, as it helps other people in desperate situations.

I give this film 3 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 12 to 18, plus adults.

"Faith without works is dead"
rugle127 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
There is just so much wrong with this movie; from a Christian viewpoint. You have to remember the words of the Apostle James, Faith without works is dead. We are not to just sit around and do nothing; like things would just drop out of the sky. "He who will not work, nor should he eat". They get all this money, from charity to pay off their debts, but what happens when the next mortgage payment is due; another bailout; I don't think a few trail rides would support property, of that size nor pay the labor and expenses it would require to keep the operation profitable. There is a saying to "Do your best and let God do the rest. The mother gets all these notices from the bank, that the ranch is in trouble, but she just ignores them; thinking that doing this the problem will go away. This is prime example of what the Unbelievers think and say about the people who claim to be Christians; followers of the Faith and Prosperity Gospel; that all you have to do is pray and you will receive what you ask for, like He is entitled to give it to them. As scripture says "pray without ceasing and not doubting and God will give you the desires of your heart; according to his will and purpose".

I hate this will be stuck on my Netflix
bmscott-5831121 June 2020
It feels like a bad Sunday school movie. I've had ex boyfriends more kind about shoving things down my throat than this film. Someone clearly never explained to this director show don't tell. Not only did this movie insult my time, but now I will forever have Netflix insisting that I continue watching this absolute piece of garbage.

bad show and cast
knorris-9254630 July 2020
This show was overall really bad. being a horse crazy person there were a lot of problems that the actress who owned the horse did. she obviously had no experience with horses. it looked like she didnt even know how to ride correctly. she also called her horse "white" if im not mistaken. that's not that big of a deal but if you have a horse you should be able to know what color she is. and since I am an equestrian and stuff this kinda gets on my nerves. if they are going to make a movie that is mainly about a girl and her bond between her horse than they should at least know some simple stuff about horses, or else they might as well not have one in their movie. there were a lot of other mistakes that they made but the biggest one was that the girl was walking her horse on a halter (with the lead rope) and then she kept on dropping it on the ground to talk to her bf or guy friend or whatever. This is very dangerous. the horse in this movie was probably very well trained but if a kid goes and does this with their horse thinking it's okay, it's most likely that the horse will run or walk off and then trip and fall over the lead rope. sometimes depending on the fall, the horse could die from tripping and hurting it's leg . I also found the movie unrealistic. the only reason i gave this movie a 2 star is because the horse is really pretty.

Cliché, boring, and terrible acting
angrybirdman10 October 2020
The acting in this movie is atrocious. The characters are cardboard cutouts at best, and the plot was so cliché I knew what was going to happen scenes before anything happened

Boring
teddecker1 July 2020
This movie wears like a LifeTime movie that was not released because of not having any interest. The picture on the ad and the name sums up what could only be shown to the ages of 5 years old to 12.

Acting lackluster
shellygoo15 July 2020
Both the character and the actress who plays the mother drags the movie down. The character of the mother is not only weak but doesn't promote female strength. She is left with a ranch after her husband dies but never thought they would eventually run out of money. It begs the question why she didn't get a job to try to support her Daughter and ranch. The actress brings no personality to the role, just a dumb look all the time. The daughter and pastor actors and John Schneider are the only things giving the movie a 4 from me.
