- A young female is kidnapped by a man and held captive. This is the primary focus of the film.
- The film features a very controlling, Stockholm syndrome-type relationship. Many of the scenes between these two characters are intense.
- There is an overall sense of danger, impending doom and hopelessness throughout the entire movie, as the main character is a young female prostitute surrounded by older, often predatory men. There are very bleak tones which some viewers may find depressing.

- One character's grandmother is shown to be in a coma. The doctors say she may wake up soon, however it is very unlikely that she would be able to walk or communicate ever again. The character tells the doctors to switch off her life support, and she dies off-screen. This may be upsetting to some viewers.
