I agree with the reviewer who said "The series does seem to be struggling a bit." We now have several conflicting sub-plots which seem to be creating havoc.

There's the relationship of T with his mom. Annelies' relationship with T. As well as what she believes is a secret relationship with Daan. That and more is going on while a weekly main story is being carried out.

IMHO, this series worked better in the beginning when the emphasis on complexity resided in solving cases. The screenwriter has watered down what originally made this series great by shifting the emphasis towards solving relationships.

To wit, the sexual relationship between Annelies and Dann REALLY compromises the show. They come off as two love-smitten teenagers rather than professional police officers. It's hard to respect those characters when they're acting like idiots. For example: Everyone in the office knows what's going on. So, in comparison to the rest of the office, they're stupid.

Also, there's a major flaw in this series. Germ theory is just that - a theory. Most people have fallen for the medical propaganda. But someone as intellectually accomplished as Professor T would focus on the maintenance of immune system integrity rather than avoiding germs.
