A Jump scare in every 3 minutes
ali-248-65942015 May 2017
This film is one of the basic examples of Islamic-folklore horror movies that has recently boomed in Turkey.

There is not much to say about movie because the entire concept is having jump scares followed up with high bass noises in an never ending series. Movie narrates story of a couple being cursed by djinss and landing to a cursed rural town after an horrific car accident.

Film feels a little surreal but I doubt if it was the intention of the director or the script. Filmography and Image directions feels a little off and pretty much all the scenes feels a little disjointed. Film offers absolutely next to nothing for audience to create empathy for the characters. I felt like the scenarist saw a bad dream once and woke up and wrote it right away.

First 2-3 jump scares kinda did the effect on the audience but after a while it starts to feels like being constantly poked. It was annoying and since i had no empathy or any interest for the on going story they were just bothersome.

There are some movies so bad that it makes you feel like you should see it even just for some laughs; Sadly Cin Kuyusu is not one of them.

Turkish horror movies are the best
nerval-114-7505785 November 2015
Turkish culture is keen to jinns and religious evil on horror. In my opinion it's much more realistic because even Islamic holy book mentions about them, and it scares not like horror porn but in a way that it will enter your nightmares.

Cin Kuyusu (Djinn Well) is based on a real story, where a couple can't have kids and goes to for it from "evildoers". Surely, horror begins afterward. They have an adopted girl, and she shees those evil in a village cursed by a women over children.

The village have no children, all children throws themselves into the well; and then become jinns.

If you like these kind of stories, you will love it.
