Did you know
- GoofsAt the beginning of shift, Boden informs Dawson that she must get cleared by Chief Riddle before she can return to duty after her hospital stay. Yet before Dawson goes to Riddle's office at HQ, she is in full bunker gear at a call that Truck 81 responds to. If she's not yet cleared for duty, why is Dawson even going along to calls, let alone wearing full gear? If she's not yet cleared or duty, she shouldn't leave the firehouse.
- Quotes
Chief Ray Riddle: Why isn't Patterson here? Would you go get Captain Patterson for me?
Connie: Yes, Chief.
Chief Ray Riddle: What's with the flower shop in your common room?
Wallace Boden: Family lost their home day of the wedding. I'm offering 51 as an alternate venue.
Chief Ray Riddle: An alternate venue, Wallace? This is a firehouse. It's not the champagne room at the Radisson.
Wallace Boden: I'm aware of that. I know it's a little unorthodox, but I thought I would offer it.
Chief Ray Riddle: Well, then maybe you should pull the plug.
Wallace Boden: That would be a very big blow to the bride. The groom is laid up at Chicago Med.
Dallas Patterson: Sorry, I didn't realize I was expected at this meeting.
Chief Ray Riddle: Come on in, Patterson. We're here to discuss Kelly Severide's lieutenancy. Did you pass your course, Severide?
Kelly Severide: With flying colors, sir. Your office is getting a copy of my final review.
Chief Ray Riddle: Congratulations. Why don't we put your leadership skills to the test? As a reinstated officer, would you support the use of a firehouse for a private event?
Kelly Severide: Depends on the event, sir.
Chief Ray Riddle: Well, I think you know that I'm referring to this specific event, this wedding.
Kelly Severide: If I thought it would help people? I'd support it, sure.
Chief Ray Riddle: Mm-hmm.
Kelly Severide: And I do.
Chief Ray Riddle: I think we'll let Severide stay right where he is for a while. We'll reassess down the road.
Kelly Severide: Wait, what?
Wallace Boden: Kelly.
Kelly Severide: Down the road? No way! I passed your class. I kept my head down. I did my job like you asked. Ask Patterson.
Chief Ray Riddle: You don't think I already have?
Kelly Severide: If he didn't give me a positive review, then he's full of it.
Dallas Patterson: Severide, I'm happy to discuss this with you later.
Kelly Severide: I'm not talking to you!
Wallace Boden: Kelly, that's enough.
Chief Ray Riddle: You know, it's no surprise to me that your people-- Dawson, Severide-- thumb their nose at authority and backtalk their superior officers. I know exactly where they learned that behavior.
Wallace Boden: Riddle, you got a problem with me, don't take it out on my men. The wedding was my call, and I am happy to bring this discussion up before the Commissioner because he is not retired as yet.
Chief Ray Riddle: All right. You do whatever you think's best regarding this wedding, Chief. And as for you, we will review down the road.
