i knew jessie from about 95-97 in greenville, sc and he was a blast to hang out with. the life of the party, which we would have almost daily somewhere. if not at his house jamming out we would be on some adventure. he was the mysterious kinda guy you would find walking down a dark alley in the middle of the night and be like 'what up dude' and he just be like 'nothing just talking a walk at 3am to nowhere'. as time went by his talent and charisma were evident to me that he would become more that just an inner circle of fellow young partiers and was destined for something big. when he moved to LA that is where this story begins. his fame is not just in his talent but in his soul. he is infectious to the point where you just wanna be around him all the time. i have lost contact with him since 2000 but when i heard the tragic news in Paris was compelled to research and see how he is doing. came across this film and while it is funny as all get out it is sad as well. we both have been through personal tragedies and came out alive and kicking. to see him transcend his tragedies and rise above those that would like to end our lifestyle was inspiring to say the least. if you know jessie or his music this is a must watch. i hope some day we re-connnect. watching this makes me feel like i am back in 96 and hanging out with him. he has not changed a bit in one regard but in yet another he has completed his transformation into a try rock n roller and not just on in training. he is the real deal.
