Adapted from a novel by noted author Setoguchi Torao, this contemporary musical/drama film stars the great Misora Hibari, along with a strong supporting cast that includes Usami Jun and another mega-star Takakura Ken. Hibari Misora was a Japanese singer, a gifted actress and cultural icon. She received a Medal of Honour for her contributions to music and for improving the welfare of the public, and was the first woman to receive the People's Honour Award which was conferred posthumously for giving the public hope and encouragement after World War II.

She shines brightly in this delightful film, a tale of youth, family, friendship and romance.

Two sailors reunite when their ship arrives in port and both have eyes for Hibari, can love/friendship survive the hardships of a sailor's life, the power of a large shipping company comes into play adding a dramatic tone , Filled with wonderful music and quality songs, a Highly Entertaining Treat.
