It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia looks like it could become the longest-running live-action comedy series after FX revealed it was in “active talks” for more seasons.
The comedy tied with ABC’s The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet for longest-running live-action comedy series by seasons with its 14th run.
FX Networks and FX Productions Chairman John Landgraf and FX Entertainment President Eric Schrier told Deadline that they are discussing with the core team of creator Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton and Charlie Day.
“We hope [it will continue], said Schrier. “We’re actively talking to them about more,” added Landgraf.
Landgraf previously told Deadline that he couldn’t believe that it still exists after 14 years. “If [Rob] wanted to make it 15th or 16th season, we would absolutely do it. The show is still good; it’s as good as it’s ever been.”
This comes 24 hours after McElhenney reassured fans that the launch...

This week’s “Saturday Night Live” marked Scarlett Johansson’s sixth time in the hosting position. Yes, over the hump of five times and engaged to one of the head writers, Colin Jost, Johansson came to Studio 8H on top of the world, ready to play anyone and anything. Except maybe not a tree.
Also: There was another dog sketch this week.
Host: Scarlett Johansson
Beck Bennett says it best during this bit: “No, you need me! Who’s gonna play the dumb idiot?!?” Wait, no — not that part (which is really good). This part: “It doesn’t seem super topical, right? Is this like a back-up monologue from the last time you hosted or something?” The fact that it’s not super topical — in addition to the fact that they lampshade that — is what makes the monologue funnier. The war between Nick Cannon and Eminem continues. The 39-year-old TV star has dropped another diss track targeted at the 47-year-old rapper. Cannon teamed up with The Black Squad's Charlie Clips, Hitman Holla, Conceited and Prince Eazy for the song. The tune, called "Pray for Him," debuted on World Star Hip Hop on Tuesday. Just like in the last song, the track threw shade at Eminem. For instance, there's a verse that takes a shot at his age. "Look, that double entendre, kinda heavily/Damn, Em/What? You like five minutes from 70?/Oops! I meant 47/Send him to Hell if he's bored of Heaven/ Strappin' the dynamite/Word to Florida Evans," Charlie Clips...

Noah Baumbach’s divorce comedy has hit Netflix, polarising viewers into those who back Adam Driver’s Charlie and those who support Scarlett Johansson’s Nicole
Much of the debate concerning Noah Baumbach’s latest film has not concerned how good it is: this divorce drama has unified critics and audiences like few others this season. Its debut on the small screen has not come with the disappointment, even anger, that accompanied the Netflix drop of Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman – though that was a film whose length and visuals make it much less suited to the telly.
Rather, the debate has largely been tribal: do you side with Nicole or with Charlie? Or do you take a higher moral ground and contend that such reductiveness is antithetical to the spirit of art and demeans all those who indulge in it?...

Charlie’s Angels director Elizabeth Banks is facing a social media backlash from comments she made about moviegoing audiences’ predilections towards action blockbusters featuring women.
In an interview last week, she stated that “if this movie doesn’t make money it reinforces a stereotype in Hollywood that men don’t go see women do action movies,” in response to the pre-emptive suggestion that the film was destined to bomb due to it being a female-led action pic. She also stated that the success of the likes of Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel is down to comic book films being a “male genre” and that “even though those are movies about women, they put them in the context of feeding the larger comic book world.”
The comments are now being brought up due to the box office of Charlie’s Angels’ opening weekend falling short of projections, placing it third behind Ford...

There's more to a movie than its box office success. Just a few days ago, a new Charlie's Angels movie hit theatres everywhere. And while the cast included big names like Kristen Stewart, the flick only made $8.6 million on opening weekend. On Monday morning, the film's writer and director Elizabeth Banks reacted to the news by sharing a message on Twitter. "Well, if you're going to have a flop, make sure your name is on it at least 4X," she wrote to her followers. "I'm proud of #CharliesAngels and happy it's in the world." Before the movie even hit theaters, Elizabeth faced her fair share of critics who didn't think another chapter in the Charlie's...

It's been a while since three angels bid Charlie good morning, but the Townsend Agency is back and sporting a whole new look! The new trailer for the highly anticipated relaunch of Charlie's Angels is here and fans get a good look at the new elite crime-fighting team, ready to kick ass and save the world.
Featuring an incredibly catchy jam by Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, and Lana Del Rey, the action-packed footage introduces fans to the wild Sabina Wilson (played by a surprisingly humorous Kristen Stewart), former spy Jane Kano (played by big-screen newcomer Ella Balinska), and young systems engineer Elena Houghlin (Aladdin's Naomi Scott). While the three don't start out as a badass team of ass-kickers - in fact, Sabina and Jane are assigned to work on a case involving Elena - they're thwarting evil villains in the badass fashion we expect from Charlie's Angels in no time.

The latest reboot of Charlie's Angels shares plenty of similarities with the '70s TV show and the two early 2000s movies that came before it. The Townsend Agency is back, though now it has expanded internationally. Bosley is back, except now there are several of them recruiting new spies all over the world. The Angels are back, except now we have three new kickass recruits. And of course, the titular Charlie Townsend is back, and he is once again faceless - but the 2019 reboot also provides a small twist. This time around, Charlie is a woman. But who exactly is she?
Near the end of the movie, viewers are taken into Charlie's office, where it's revealed that an unseen woman is using a voice-changing device to sound like a man. You're even given a glimpse of Charlie - or rather, Charlie's hand - earlier in the movie, and though it's clearly a woman's hand,...

Now the longest-running TV sitcom of all time, the cast of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia ponders the show’s longevity and future.
“Charlie Work” is one of television’s dirtiest jobs. It’s shorthand for the custodial duties inside Paddy’s Pub: urinal cleaning, basic slimes and sludges, the occasional blood stuff, and a potluck of basement activity. Charlie Kelly doesn’t begrudge the title. He loves the dark, being naked, slippery things, and the smell and taste of bleach. To the uninitiated, dispatching vile fluids would be a daily hurdle. Charlie sees it as something more; he moves filth and squalor around the bar like an artist spreads paint on an open canvas.
Actor Charlie Day is overjoyed to be the master behind this craft. Finding consistent acting work on TV is a chore all to itself, and he’s as surprised as anyone...

We take a look at how the Bumblebee soundtrack informs the film and its characters.
This article contains Bumblebee spoilers.
It's been a week since I saw Bumblebee, and frankly I'm still a bit in shock. Whereas the previous entries in the Transformers franchise have felt overblown, if not just aggressively stupid, director Travis Knight's prequel does some much-needed course correcting by delivering instantly likable characters and a story that has some genuinely touching moments.
With the film wisely being set in the 1980s -- the decade in which the robots in disguise first came to prominence -- the movie is peppered with familiar songs for anyone who came of age in the era.
But let's get one thing perfectly clear, despite the radio/Spotify friendly tracks that dominate the film's official soundtrack (including star Hailee Steinfeld's own "Back to Life"), Bumblebee's best-utilized songs are...

How about that? Fox’s off-cycle multi-camera comedy pilot The Cool Kids (fka Cool Kids), from the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia team, rode its late momentum all the way to a series pickup. It is one of two new series orders at Fox today, along with the Danny Strong-produced legal drama Proven Innocent. Both come from Fox sibling 20th Century Fox TV.
