Women will like this more than men
anniefairfield21 October 2019
Unique thriller with a good concept involving lost memories and an unsolved crime. I think this is a movie that women will like more than men in that it follows a female character, including her conflicted relationship with her sister, and there is also some romance thrown in as well with a good-looking male character. The main character was likeable and relatable.

Not half bad
jackfulton122 January 2019
This wasn't bad but it didn't blow me away. It was a good enough thriller for me to keep it turned on so I could see the ending of it. You definitely need to pay attention when you watch this movie. Don't go messing with your phone or you'll miss key clues and moments that come back around later. I liked the lead female a lot. The bad guys were pretty good looking for being "rough bad guys" but I'm sure the women love that.

Decent Showtime Movie
heartcore917 December 2018
Showtime has a pretty wide selection of films and genres these days from independent films and Sundance movies to big budget blockbusters. That's one of the things I like about the channel. I was just perusing the guide and Last Seen in Idaho was about to start. The title and the description sounded cool so I went for it even though I didn't know any of the actors in it except I recognized one of them. It turned about to be a decent thriller. Maybe I'd classify it more as a mystery because there's a fair amount of sleuthing by the main character in between the occasional chase or fight scene. I liked the lead actress. She was relatable and natural. I really liked the lead male. He was simmering and likeable. All in all it's decent if you like these kinds of mystery-thriller movies.

Garbage + fake reviews, don't waste your time and avoid.
Invalid-User-Id19 May 2018
The movie is amateurish with a ridiculous plot, bad acting and laughable special effects. As expected, IMDb is spammed by bunch of fake review for this piece of garbage. Don't waste your time and avoid.

If you want bad action scenes look no further
deloudelouvain7 May 2018
If you had some decent actors, a decent director and a decent crew maybe you could do something with this story. But the problem is you don't have any of that and that results in something done by amateurs, but in a really bad way. The bad acting was of the charts. I don't think any of the actors ever did an action or fight scene in their lives before. It was so bad it almost became funny. The final scene is just a masterpiece, but in a really bad way then. My wife and I were immediately thinking the same, calling a bunch of our friends and play that final scene over, just for fun and to show we could do a better job. It was just unreal how bad it was. The so-called flashbacks were also terrible. I think it's clear that almost everybody in this movie should find another job because cinema is clearly not for them.

I've tried to think of a movie I've ever seen ... in my life ... that had worse acting and a worse script. I came up empty.

Short & Sweet Review: Skip it-Class C at best
mrdinapoli6 December 2018
Short & Sweet Review: I rarely write reviews, but felt compelled to do so for this. This movie was a waste of time - Class C at best (I'm not sure if it goes lower). Advice: Try to find something else to watch or do - even if this movie is free on TV, and it is cold and overcast outside. I should have tried harder to find something to do, but I was intrigued by some of the other reviews I read so I stuck with it to the bitter end. In summary, the acting is poor, the plot is poor, the special effects are poor, the end is predictable (somewhat) despite other reviews, there are many loose ends, and the story leaves you not caring about what happens to any of the characters.

Too Cartoonish and Too Stupid to really Enjoy.
karlsaville29 April 2018
On the plus side the movie is well shot, there's a nice car in it, and some of the actors are quite good, unfortunately one of these gets killed quite early on. There's also intriguing supernatural subplot that ultimately leads nowhere.

On the down side, the script ranges from requiring behaviours that make you shake your head to suicidal stupidity. Characters creep downstairs when they should be creeping upstairs, then they creep back down again for no reason. They hang out where they know they could be found when bad guys are chasing them. They don't report murders they remember because reasons. They willingly allow themselves to be kidnapped because plot. People get left alive when it only makes sense to kill them, other folks get killed pointlessly and stupidly. The whole thing is a mess.

The lead actress is stiff and wooden with the emotional range of a cheeseboard. There's a convincing psychopath in the gang who I did enjoy, but unfortunately the gang leader is a tattoed muscle-bound joke. A cartoon of a character. A cartoon of a movie. I give it a 4.

Intriguing premise with good storytelling
mycannonball18 June 2018
The movie has an intriguing set up: Woman witnesses crime and in a near death escape ends up in coma only to awaken with special powers. Now this movie mainly stays in the realm of realism. The "special powers" are limited to premonitions that pop up unexpectedly and all relate in some form or other to her upcoming murder. How can she stop it?

I feel like this movie wanted to go deeper with some of the themes that it presented: Can we change our destiny? Are the mistakes of our past destined to haunt us? It dances around those topics, but with so many characters and plotlines in need of development in order to serve the mystery and the suspense, it never fully explores those themes. I wish it would have. That would have elevated the movie to a solid '8' for me.

Good directing. Good writing. Good acting. It's good across the board with suspense, moments that make you jump, tension, and some good action, but it's missing that something that would turn it into a break-out hit. Middle was a touch slow, maybe? Still, I recommend it. It was entertaining.

Heaven help us when a film in theator seems lime a lifetime movie
bluewatercolor-3930310 November 2018
I'm accusing this film of wasting my time. A disaster. Bad acting , script , cinematography, and story. They should have made a cartoon , at least it would have been colorful. The main character , a beautiful blonde was in a hospital bed after waking up from a long coma and she spoke like she had just sat down for ice cream at a bar on vacation. My thought was " where is the rule that beautiful women are not required to act while being paid to star in a feature film.

Twists and Turns - Fun Thriller
ardentayu24 April 2018
Last Seen in Idaho is a fun thriller chock full of twists and turns. Just when you think you have it all figured out, another surprise is thrown into the mix. The premise of the story is that a woman named Summer witnesses a murder and while she's trying to escape the scene, she's pursued by the killers and wrecks her car. Later at the hospital, she can't recall the murder she saw, but now she's having premonitions about her own future murder. So there's a bit of fantastical element to it. Meanwhile, the killers decide that if Summer's memory shows any signs of returning, they will eliminate her.

An indie production, this film seems to have the ambition of larger films. There are some action and suspense scenes throughout the first two acts of the film, but mostly, it relies on tension and mystery that builds through those acts, leading to a massive final act with bigger action and spectacle.

Hallie Shepherd is a believable and relatable as Summer, a heroine who is continually facing down the worst possible news - You're going to be kidnapped... wait no, you're going to die.... Wait no.... She's brave and tough and resourceful. Casper Van Dien is creepy as all get out, as a killer who has no emotions about his murders, just bland curiosity. Wes Ramsey is complex character who uses his charm and good looks to get close to Summer. He shows range in this film, needing to have both likeability and a rough and dark criminal side. Shawn Christian is colorful and eccentric as a cocky bad guy. Alexis Monnie plays Summer's younger sister, a naïve young woman who doesn't seem to have the same street smarts her older sister does. This solid cast also has a variety of supporting characters that add to the overall mystery of "Who is the Big Bad Crime Lord?"

All in all, a really fun thriller! It kept me engaged the entire time, and I didn't see the end coming.

Tense and Suspenseful
mccabegabe29 April 2018
I really wasn't sure what to think of this movie going into it. The poster looks like a blow-em-up action movie. I watched the trailer and that conveyed a thriller with a female lead more than an action film with guns a blazing. I was intrigued enough by the premise of a woman having visions of her murder that hasn't happened yet, so I gave it a go. I was pleasantly surprised. The suspense was well done with a few highly tense sequences, namely one of the early scenes when Summer (the heroine) sees a murder, as well as a few later scenes that I won't spoil. The way that early aforementioned scene was directed and shot felt eerie and claustrophobic.

The reason I rank the movie as a 7 and not an 8 or 9 is because there are quite a lot of characters jampacked into this story. This is necessary on one hand because there is a mystery element to the story where you can suspect any character, but at the same time, I wanted to stay focused on the main characters and their relationships to each other, namely those of Summer and Franco (love interest/or maybe the death of her) and that of Summer and Lance (ex-boyfriend). I will say that I was very surprised by the reveal at the end, so in that regard, it succeeded in keeping me engaged and preventing me from figuring things out. A tense, interesting thriller with a great cast.

It said I was missing.
nogodnomasters29 April 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Idaho (filmed in Washington) and Casper Van Dien is not how I would try to sell an action film. Summer (Hallie Shepherd) works for Dex (Eric Colley) at a garage that gets involved in a political murder because killing the candidate is better than a smear campaign. She witnesses a bunch of stuff and then has a bad accident where she nearly burns to death (no scars afterwards). She awakes with amnesia, but has the ability to see into the future...which will affect her actions.

There was a film that did this future sight thing to the nth degree. This one was done rather mundane. The script was boring. One night time scene was filmed in the rain, although everyone pretended it wasn't raining (rain visible in head lamps.) Made for TV quality.

Guide: F-word. No nudity, near forced sex...what was that scene all about?

Wasted Time
starwriter11098 August 2018
First of all, the title misled me. I expected this film to be about a missing person. Having seen it I now suspect the story was more about a missing movie-goer in Boise. A young woman with a shady past who is trying to get her life together inadvertently witnesses a murder and the murderers are aware that she saw it. They spend the rest of the movie trying to kill her.

I usually realize I'm in trouble when a movie has an entire cast I've never seen before, although occasionally I am happily surprised. Not this time. The male stars were not too bad but the two female leads, Hallie Shepherd and Alexis Monnie, were simply terrible. I've seen better acting in a middle school drama club.

Aside from the bad acting, "Last Seen in Idaho" contained far too much violence for me. A little smidgen of violence with a strong plot and lots of suspense goes a lot further than overkill. Non-stop shoot-em-up and blow-it-up scenes leave me cold and extremely depressed. This was certainly not my kind of film. Next time I'll watch Miss Marple.

When you can't beat 'em shoot 'em.
bkoganbing30 April 2018
Last Seen In Idaho has cool and disinterested contract killer Casper Van Dien shooting down the election opponent of small town mayor Richard Carmen. Just for good measure Van Dien throws in a witness who stumbled upon the shooting which took place in a parking garage.

Later on he brings both bodies to an auto body shop (how appropriate) where the owner does a sideline disappearing human bodies. But that day Hallie Shepherd witnesses these goings on and her boss's killings and flees the scene and gets into a car crash.

After that she's in a coma for 3 months and then wakes up with little memory, but disturbing visions. And she gets a new boyfriend Wes Ramsey giving her the big rush. But Ramsey's got ulterior motives.

A lot of extraneous material gets thrown into this modest thriller which certainly wasn't in theatrical release too long. It has an interesting climax where a whole lot of people get dead and the identity of a mysterious local crime boss is revealed and it's a surprise.

I'm not sure if Casper Van Dien's portrayal of a bad guy who is as cold as an Arctic day in December is disinterest or part of the character. I like him so much better as a hero. For the days of being Tarzan or Johnny Rico.

Avoid...trust me!
angelsbowbhim31 August 2019
This movie is nauseatingly bad. Like, the acting is so bad I don't know whether to laugh or to vomit. Not just the lead actress, either, like everyone in the movie is doing extra and straining to act. Even a veteran actor like Casper Van Dien is pitifully weak in this. So disappointing. It is so slow and the plot is extremely lame and predictable. No twists. No turns. The action sequences are laughable. There are Lifetime movies that are better than this trash. Really, you will want your wasted time back.

Could Not Watch This Movie
felix-rosalez27 December 2019
I watched about an hour of it then just shut it off. After watching some really intense movies like "Uncut Gems," "Good Time," and "The Informer," it's hard to watch movies such as "Last Seen in Idaho." I was waiting for some type of action, that's what this movie is labeled as but there was nothing going on in terms of action. Nuff said. Maybe to some people it's a kick ass movie but to myself, I couldn't take it.

Terrible acting/ decent script
swhitworth-9057929 February 2020
Quite possibly the worst acting I've ever seen. The movie itself was interesting enough for me to watch it, but frequently shaking my head at the horrible acting. Got a decent nap out of the deal though.

exciting plot with interesting ideas
csisinfo27 February 2021
The plot of this film is pretty good as viewers will need to keep guessing who are on the good side. However certain parts do not make sense though. For example, why didn't Summer forward the video to the police once she had found that the video was in her possession. The actors/actresses did a good job. I have found that it is worthwhile to spend the 1.5hrs watching this movie. I would give it a C+ to B- rating.

Horrible Acting
divinechannel4 March 2021
I give this a 3 for the effort and humor. It wasn't supposed to be funny but I was in a fit of laughter during the fight scene at the end. It was hilarious. Tears coming down my eyes, cheeks hurting, you know.

The acting is horrible. I don't know who was worst - the shop owner, the kid who worked in the shop, the sister, the rich guy or the 15 seconds of fame dude with the glasses at the party. Every one else was ok...literally ok and that's too much credit. Please do not believe the fake reviews on this movie. I wouldn't say a 1 but a 3 at best and that's being nice. Maybe a 2 but I like a good laugh so I'll leave it at 3.

Good lord
lovethesun23 September 2021
I streamed this on Peacock because I noticed that a actor, Wes Ramsey, was in it. He is solely the reason that I stopped watching General Hospital because he's such a pathetic actor who loves to crow about the fact that he went to Juilliard acting school (i'm sure they are embarrassed). This movie proves me right. He's not the only one though, absolutely horrific acting by everyone involved. I gutted it out until the end because I don't like to leave reviews unless I've actually seen the whole movie. Just simply horrific.

The book must have been ten x better than the movie (excessive violence)...
ddizoglio14 May 2023
Ugh. Excessive violence (needlessly), thankfully "Last Seen in Idaho" had a happy ending. The lead actress won the Best Lead Actress Award at Gig Harbor Movie Festival and she certainly deserved it. Two most prominent male criminal characters were very convincing as evil dudes. However, I had to mute the audio several times on intense violent scenes and rely on close captions just to be able to continue watch the movie. I only continued watching because I'm very curious and the actors where so good, thus I still had hope there would be a good-decent ending. Directors can learn a lot from watching classic Alfred Hitchcock movies. All this excessive violence is a huge turnoff (it was doubled due to lead actress's gift of foresight), if there was a better script with more subtle violence vs. Overt violence this movie could have been an 8-9 out of ten. Instead it's a barely watchable 5 of ten. This is one of those cases where the book would be ten x better than the movie even for the genre. What on Earth is Hollywood thinking with this much overt violence? We the people want good quality entertainment. ***This movie is NOT suitable for kids in any way, shape or form.****
