Seriously one of the best episode in The Flash Season 2 "Escape from Earth-2" rocks
ivo-cobra824 February 2018
"Escape from Earth 2" is seriously one of the best episode in The Flash Season 2. "Escape from Earth-2" rocks. I love the old show and I love this show equally. Seriously I never thought this show will become one of my favorites. This episode is about rescuing Barry Allen/The Flash and Jesse (Harrison Wells daughter) from Zoom who captured them. This is a rescue mission for Harrison Wells, Cisco Ramon, Iris West and Bartholomew Allen both from Earth-2 to finding Zoom's hideout and to save Barry Allen/The Flash and Jesse with the help of Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker ).

Great acting from Grant Gustin, Danielle Panabaker, Violett Beane, Carlos Valdes and Tom Cavanagh they all do great job at acting wise. In here we also have Killer Frost the first episode since actress Danielle Panabaker portrayed the character in two parts. I love that the cast are in other dimension Earth-2. I love the science fiction in this episode and mostly I love the Flash in Earth II two part. The creators and writers were really imaginative and creative enough for writing a story for this episode. Mostly I love the escape from Zoom. The second half of Season 2 is much more stronger and more better than the first half was.

Season 1 and 2 of The Flash are really wonderful and creativity to watch. I can't wait till I compete second season. On the end of the episode Grant Gustin portrayed excellent Barry Allen/The Flash and the same time Bartholomew Allen from Earth-2 his doppelganger. The episode left us a cliffhanger on the end in which Jay Garrick was swapped away by Zoom back in the portal Earth-2 before he close the portal. Great acting from Teddy Sears as Jay Garrick who try's to stop Adam Fells / Geomancer from destroying Central City with Caitlin's help by giving him Velocity 9 to get his speed back and stop Adam Fells / Geomancer for good by hurting anyone else. 10/10

Flash - S02E14 Escape From Earth-2
j_forbesy17 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Like last week, this episode was fantastic. I've really loved everything they have done on Earth 2. On top of that, the Earth 1 story line has been really good too. There are so many things to talk about for this episode.

First of all, by far my favourite aspect of this episode was the dark tone surrounding Zoom and his Lair. The man with the mask was fantastic yet really creepy. I loved the scene where Barry and Jessie worked together to work out what he was tapping on the glass. The clue he gave of 'Jay' meaning Jay Garrick put together with the masked mans reaction to what Barry was saying about Jay being alive really gives more clue to who Zoom really is. For me this adds to Hunter Zolomon being Zoom, as Hunter is Jay's Earth 2 double.

Another major plot point that was developed during this episode was the creation of Velocity 9, something that the series has been hinting to throughout the season. With Velocity 9 we are closer to more speedsters such as Wally West into Kid Flash and Jessie Wells into Jessie Quick.

The pep talk between the Barrys was really great too. Even though they are from different Earths, you still felt as though it was the Barry telling himself that he has faith in himself. The pep talked well ended up working and Barry ended up fazing out of the chamber. That was a really great moment in the episode.

Killer Frost was again fantastic in this episode. We got to see her human side and see her more in tune with Earth 1 Caitlin. We get to see her team up with Team Flash and help them rescue Jessie and Barry. In the end we assume she did not make it but her character was great.

The end of this episode was so unexpected. I really didn't expect that both Wells and Jessie were going to come back to Earth 1. On top of that, I didn't think that this episode would end in the potential death of Jay Garrick. When I saw him standing in front of the breach I got the feeling that something bad was going to happen, but before that, I never thought it would be an outcome.

Coming out of this episode there is 2 major questions. The first is who is the man in the mask? I really hope that he is not forgotten and he plays and major role in the outcome of this season. The second is where does the season go from here. Zoom will continue to feature, this can not be the end of Zoom, but I want to see how they will continue to travel between the 2 Earths with no more breaches remaining. I really hope there is no cheesy explanation to how they can go back. The only possibility I can see is that Barry will have to recreate the events of season 1 and recreate the breaches.

How it feels to live in Earth 2..
tabraham4416 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
The first couple minutes of this episode already start off purely terrifying and genius, we finally get a glimpse of the horror that Zoom can bring to Earth 2. With Wells on the run at the beginning, we get to experience the anxiety right with him and Cisco. It makes the episode a much better experience when a villain can captivate the screen like Zoom can, from the first few minutes we realized this episode was going to be a crazy one and it was great, but not quite perfect.

When Barry is trapped in Zoom's lair, even though he is the flash is it tough to imagine him being able to get out on his own. That says something in itself, and whenever Zoom returns the feeling of escape slips right away again. That guy with the mask who was trying to help them out gave me a really ominous vibe, an almost concerning amount, but it was an extremely nice touch to add to the frightening essence of Zoom. (Btw, I think it's gotta be Diggle's brother from Earth 2 under that mask, well maybe not, but I don't have time to go into that now) All hope seemed lost at a certain point, which is what made this episode shine. It was an intense race against time, and rarely fell flat for me in the episode.

"I'm Just Barry Allen, and You're the Flash"
SpoodermanDerp17 February 2016
"Welcome to Earth 2" and "Escape from Earth 2" is the needed exposition for the new world in which we're introduced in which is Earth II. Although this episode does a great job in showing the vast and rich mythology and variety this show had to offer, the show kind of falls when it comes to executing some certain aspects of the episode.

The two parter sure is exciting once you read the general premise of it. Granted, it was exciting and had its thrilling moments with the help of visual effects and the set design of the show. However, this episode needed a riveting plot, not just an intriguing premise. When you think about it, did they really execute a great plot to compensate for in this two parter? The main point was to save Harrison Well's daughter but the first part had to introduce us first to Earth II and their dopplegangers. Even though the two parter made an effort to go sidetrack a little bit in Earth One, it feels as if it was uncalled for and it brought no intensity to the general storyline whatsoever. Undoubtedly the best part of this two parter was Zoom and the mystery that was shadowed upon him, yet he's incredibly inconsistent and underpowered at certain times which is really rather convenient for the screenwriters at the end of the day. It feels as if the episode didn't take risks that could've been done and could particularly have potential in providing a much more exciting episode. Granted, the episode isn't all that bad and the two parter really isn't boring, it's just that it could've been improved more especially when everything felt so ridiculously CONVENIENT and ridiculously illogical. The Barry and Barry from Earth II stuff was good and the dynamic from the team still feels pretty intact and developed. The visual effects kind of seemed iffy in Earth II (hopefully not a sign of quality reduction) but other than that Zoom and the Flash still look pretty great. The twists and subtle hints in the episode were already rather noticeable and predictable, even the final shocker was quite frankly predictable.

In the end, Earth II Two parter was decent at best, but not as much as it could've lived up to its great premise.

Verdict: 8.0/10

Earth-2 is a World of Wonder
cobi-8062017 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Last year's two-parters (episode 13 "The Nuclear Man" and episode 14 "Fallout") were some of the best episodes last season. This year's two-parters, EVEN BETTER. From the many doppelgangers to the marvelous easter eggs and the suspenseful Zoom moments. These two episodes put themselves on top of the list of my favourite episodes of season 2, Welcome to Earth-2 being number one.

"Welcome to Earth-2" had so much to give. Future Green Arrow, 90's Flash, Supergirl, Jonah Hex and a Legion ring just in the very first 5 minutes as they travel through the breach. Then we meet doppelganger after doppelganger and it's just like an adventure where we get to explore this unfamiliar world. We follow Barry as he learns about his doppelgangers life and he even gets to talk to his mother from Earth-2 which was heartbreaking. Barry wasn't all too bright but I'm going to give him a pass, what happens in this world is all unpredictable. Before watching I wouldn't have thought Earth-2 Cisco would be an evil Vibe. Reverb was the highlight of the doppelgangers, he served as a great way to show us and Cisco what he's capable of. Killer Frost was very good as well, hopefully we won't lose her so soon like we lost Reverb and Deathstorm. I find it funny how they manage to kill Ronnie twice in the same season. Zoom killing them like flies proves that he's the top predator of this show. Geomancer is probably at the bottom of that list, cool powers but a total joke as a person. The Earth-1 scenes didn't fit into this Earth-2 adventure but at least Jay got to be helpful for a while.

"Escape from Earth-2" opens right up where we have Zoom terrorizing Central City and he almost resembles Batman for a moment. These first minutes were really intense and suspenseful as Zoom is merely footsteps away from be able to breath on our heroes. Interesting how Harry had an identical Time Vault-room, had he built that before going to Earth-1? Does that mean he invented the technology that Eobard Thawne brings with him from the future?! That would make a lot of sense because Barry said Earth-2 was far ahead technology wise and that is really cool if it were true. That Earth-2 Harrison Wells introduces the technology that Eobard Thawne uses to take over the identity of Earth-1 Harrison Wells. The idea is mind boggling but I love it. Doppelgangers and easter eggs aside, what Earth-2 does best is giving us more mystery over Zoom's and now TMITIM's (The Man In The Iron Mask) identity. He was spelling Jay. Is he Jay? Is Zoom Jay? What about Jay?? All I know is that I saw "Jay" walk up to the breach and Zoom pulling him into it while Zoom's arm was phasing through his chest. Very obvious ending but maybe he intended to get pulled in? We don't know, hence the theories!

In conclusion, the trip to Earth-2 did a fantastic job of getting the viewers entertained and spark interest for the rest of the season.

a wimp with wingtips
edyngrn24 February 2016
It is an awesome show, but this episode needed to be changed. What if we did meet our doppelgangers? I thought they would have made Barry as a PhD or a MD, education teacher, janitor, not some wimp. If they want him to be a wimp, at least make it a different profession rather than the one he has in Earth 1. The writers changed all the characters on Earth 2, except Barry. They changed his attitude. Good episode, but Barry could have been better. One would think that our doppelganger would be different, better or worse, not the same job and a wimp. Both Barrys are smart, so why not a different job? All the characters are really different, except Barry.

Badass Wells
fennec-3919218 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I found the work on the character of killer frost really great.the fact that she is stopped zoom to save everyone was great.the character in the prison of zoom who knows jay is intriguing.the work on the characters of Barry as well as the discussion of Barry of earth 2 with the one of earth 1 was excellent. Barry discovers a new ability. On the other side the reunion with wells and jesse. Wells still as badass with his gun,I liked that he was one of the only ones to have hurt zoom quickly. Then on the other side jay garrick becomes flash again and saves people from geomancer. Everyone went through the rift but through the rift zoom killed jay unfortunately.

Top 10 Flash Episodes: 9. 2x13 Escape From Earth-2
lbramson9 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
At number 9 we have Escape from Earth-2, which I prefer over Welcome...sorry not sorry. Season 2 as a whole is the best one, but this episode in particular rules! In this episode, Barry and Jesse must crack a code to Escape Earth-2. Meanwhile, Cisco and Harry team up with Earth-2 characters to save them both. For starters, the action in this episode is top notch! So many action sequences had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Zoom was also at his best here. The scene where he runs on top a building over a fire was cold as heck! I love exploring Earth-2 and this, of course, was absolutely no exception. This episode rocks and rolls at #9, being even better than Infantino Street (#10 Spot).

Bring Me Wells
ThomasDrufke16 February 2016
After what was one of the best episodes the series has had, 'Escape from Earth 2' ended up being a bit let down for me. It was another opportunity for the writers to dive deep into Zoom's psyche with an episode centered entirely around him, but I felt as though a lot of the so called 'big' moments from tonight's episode were botched and quite frankly predictably telegraphed, in a bad way. It's unfortunate because after last week I was so stoked for the potential of this episode and further trips to Earth 2, but everything just kind of fell flat for me.

The episode opened to some pretty haunting images of the phrase 'bring me wells' all around Central City. It certainly sent the episode in the right direction but the rest of the episode never really reached the heights that those first few minutes gave us. I liked the sense of urgency on both earths that were set forth with Barry and Jesse trying to figure out the mysterious helmeted person's message, Cisco and Wells trying to rescue Barry, and Caitlin and Jay trying to take down Geomancer. To me it sure seems like it's either Jay or Barry's father underneath the helmet? The fact that his message spelled Jay presented an interesting prospect. Between Zoom and the guy under the mask, Henry Allen and Jay Garrick/Hunter Zolomon are the best guesses, but I guess don't leave Wally completely out of the question.

The Earth 2 crew worked with Iris and the other Barry in hopes of rescuing Flash in what seemed like a comedic endeavor, but it never really took off the way I had hoped. Although, I do think it's funny just how more advanced earth 2 is in terms of technology, especially considering Cisco was even impressed. I also thought the addition of Killer Frost to the journey didn't do much either. How did she somehow alert Zoom that she brought them all to his lair? I thought the whole double crossing/redemption aspect to Frosts' arc this week was a pretty big let down. I never really believed she cared either way and so both left turns she made didn't mean much to me. I also thought the CGI/green screen version of Zoom's lair looked pretty awful.

Back on earth 1 it was up to Caitlin and Jay to stop Geomancer, again. Why was there a need to have that story line? It didn't do much at all other than completely rehash last week's arc for Jay. I know the writers wanted you to care more about Jay and get you to feel for him when Zoom took him at the end, but I just wasn't interested in anything involving Caitlin and Jay tonight. I found myself laughing at some of the lines Geomancer was giving. That shouldn't be happening in a pivotal episode like this.

It's unfortunate because last week was probably the most entertaining episode The Flash had ever had, and to follow it up with a lackluster episode was disappointing. A highlight I guess was hearing that Iris and Barry from earth 2 are apparently going to visit 'family' in Atlantis. Cool easter egg, but then why wasn't Arthur Curry on his speed dial last episode? With Frost having unclear intentions, a missed opportunity for Zoom to step it up, and Geomancer dominating the earth 1 subplots, 'Escape from Earth 2' is a weak episode for Flash. Plus, could Jay not made it more obvious he was going to sucked back into earth 2/Zoom would grab him? How close do you want to stand to the breach? Stupid.

+Haunting Zoom opening

+Eerie moments with the masked man

+Sense of urgency

-Botched big moments

-Jay being stupid

-Horrible CGI/green screen looking lair

-Logic issues

Less is more =/= The Flash
imakk200118 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Too many Talks That Turned the Tide with too much standing around by too many people just watching despite the perpetually imminent danger hanging over them.

Barry needing yet another pep talk only served to remind viewers he's about as inept as E2Barry.

The writers can't fridge Caitlin so they keep killing her love interests instead. Just make her Killer Frost on E1 already. They can get a lot of drama whenever she teeters towards the cold side.

If they had Cisco and Caitlin on screen interacting as friends before this ep, this would have been more effective. As it is, Cisco/KF Talk felt shoehorned in even though it was set up for her arc.

As with Zoom, nothing to say about the Masked Man because why bother? Went through this last season when it was fresh/new, not feeling it this season.

Writers half-@ssed E2 Iris/Barry. They are 0 and infinity when it comes to romantic relationships. Don't know why they bother.

Jesse's ordeal is finally over. Great! Another person on a show with already too many characters. Meh.

Score: 6.5
