Wasted time....
rosecalifornia11 July 2020
No idea what is going on with films the past 10 years but this is a total waste of time. Maybe because you can now rent film equipment cheaply or get funding from friends in the industry, who knows.

Not a single moment in the film makes an ounce of sense, it is disjointed and poorly made.

There is no storyline, no script....just total nonsense. Not even marginally watchable.

Utter waste of film
DebraIonaVogel30 September 2020
You're looking through titles, trying to choose something you haven't already seen and isn't foreign. I'm just not in the mood for sub-titles sometimes...

This movie is in English, there's that.

Poorly, and I mean poooooorly, acted. The story is predictable, yet you'll be surprised about how bad it gets and wonder why you're still watching.

Even if it took you twenty minutes to finally choose something, and you land on this, start over. Keep looking.

It's lame, not interesting, terrible music, shot and edited like a C- film student trying for the first time. Horrible story.

It's a no.

Frailty Wanna Be

Trying to copy the storytelling, lighting and mood of Frailty and Identity with a boring and predictable story. 72 minutes felt like 2 hours, and might have been good if it was told as a short, in 30 minutes.

What even happened?
JannetS10 June 2020
This movie was almost unwatchable, but I pulled through because I like supporting local cinema... but this movie is utter trash. The editing is repetitive, cutting to the same exact shots again, and again, and again. There is no momentum in the story it just drags along at iceberg pace. The dialog seems like it was written by a high school student. There is hardly a story to speak of. And it's overall just an ugly movie to look at. It's de-saturated to the point that it looks like it was unintentional and happened at the very last moment before it was uploaded. SKIP THIS MOVIE

What just happened lol?

Plot synopsis (what plot btw?).. but anyway, plot summary says a shocking discovery of the hitcher's identity is revealed toward the end of the movie.

For one thing, has anyone ever made it to the end of the movie.. and for another thing, does anyone truly care about his identity after having sat through this concoction of garbage and boredom.

If this film was supposed to be deep, thought provoking, and brooding .. I would have to say it failed miserably on all three counts.

The acting by the hitchiker wasn't too bad in itself unlike that of the driver.. but it just didn't cut it well enough to do any good in salvaging this train wreck.

A complete waste of time is my general takeaway.

A Suspenseful Psychological Thriller executed by Superb Actors!
suzanne-474730 June 2020
As night ensues and the weather deteriorates, a man drives along a winding, lonely road. He seems distracted and tired, almost in a 'trance-like' state, when suddenly a hitchhiker appears from the shadows. The loquacious newcomer, vibrant and animated, commences to tell the driver tale after tale; each becoming more mysterious and enigmatic. The sepia-like lighting from the dark and rain plus the close proximity of the pair in the car causes a complex, rather intimate relationship to unfold. The stranger's mesmerizing spiels begin having a dramatic impact on the driver as their chemistry becomes prominent. The emotional range of the driver, played by Jeffrey Arrington, is masterful - mutating from friendly to nervous and scared, confused, angry then formidable, frightening, and disquieting. Actor Brian Sutherland is commanding in his role as the zealous stranger, as he continues to torment, taunt, and antagonize the driver mile after mile. It is crucial to carefully observe the facial expressions and mannerisms of the driver in response: his body language, changes of mood, vocal intonations, and even how he sits while driving. It is fascinating to witness these harrowing feeling states as the trip progresses. Of note: few bizarre behaviors arise in a vacuum as there is almost always a past. As an earthquake emerges from a very old fault line, one's personality can also crack and split from events that may have occurred in childhood or even before 'conscious' memory. This film has an intricate, convoluted narrative which does become clear at the end of the trail. If you like psychological thrillers and suspense performed by exceptional actors, I highly recommend this compelling film - trust me, you will not be leaving your seat for refreshments. Excellent acting from both actors

Aldous is nerve wrackingly scary and the driver is tormented during this little trip. If you dont like confined to one space films you shouldnt watch this but if you enjoy great acting it makes the film very decent and could even feel like a waking nightmare or fever dream.

Awesome, Dark and Mysterious.

Awesome, Dark and Mysterious/ The kind of story written and inspired by someone who has traveled those backroads and encountered strangers on a lonesome highway.
