A Mature Sophisticated Movie

A great film, which should set an example.

The Pakistani film revival is now well and truly in full swing. It's safe to say after watching this. A mature story-line, vastly different from the commercial market in Pakistan, this sets the bar with superb acting, script and story telling.

The tying-in and well thought out cultural references were pulled off superbly. The film did drag a little especially towards the end, as there were a number of times scenes felt like the climax of the movie, but were dragged out longer than anticipated.

This is a wonderful example; to show contemporary film making in Pakistan. However, it is a shame that this probably won't appeal to mass market and therefore won't yield as much money at the box office.

I loved it, and would watch it again, it just worked so well on screen.

A Very Mature Movie

Its kind of a film that we normally expect from Mehreen Jabbar. very mature and strong approach towards story line. very powerful direction, very powerful editing. Such kind of movies are taking Pakistan film industry away from pathetic Indian cinema and putting them close to Hollywood industry. Songs are soothing relaxing and beautifully choreographed. splendid acting by everyone especially Sanam Saeed and Hareem Farooq. Unlike Indian movies where all cast suddenly start dancing and forget the whole story line during the songs; music is embedded like dialogues in the story like the way it should be. Most of all its a family movie. There is not even a kiss in the movie. The drawbacks i observed in the movie that they stretched the ending to complete the ending and that's where everything matters. secondly the movie was too predictable because we have seen too many Hollywood movies on the same story line.

Good Movie

Adeel once again is very convincing with his acting. He is very natural with this character as well like he was in his previous movie Ho Mann Jahan but Hareem Farooq does not live up to the mark. Story is good somewhat I could relate with few experiences in my life. It was a good movie but could have been better.

Excellent master piece

An excellent outclass classical drama movie. Thanks to Mehreen Jabbar and Salman Ansari for bringing such a nice art project for Pakistanis after so much hard work. Superb direction. Marvellous Music by Shiraz Uppal. Great acting by Hero Adeel and Hareem. Ali Kazmi with superb acting. Please show yourself in a solo appearance now. Mr. Rahat Kazmi your son has some guts. Shaz Khan is also a good introduction. Please sign up a solo project to show us your acting skills. Production was fine. I can say now we can compete Hollywood movies. Keep it up the good work. Please next time chose location in Pakistan to represent the beauty and colors of Pakistan. Wardrobe was good.

Major disappointment

I haven't actually submitted any reviews on IMDb ever, but this time i wanted to actually review because I went in with huge expectations which were slammed to pieces when i watched the movie.

Dobara phir se is a story about a guy who (a flirt) falls in love with a girl played by Hareem Farooq. The story is so predictable that i actually wanted the movie to finish early.

Positives: Good cinematography, locations, Adeel Hussain, Ali Kazmi, Hareem Farooq, Sanam Saeed, Tooba Siddique. All of the cast acted alright but Hareem Farooq needs to have some lessons on depicting emotional scenes. It was quite evident in one of the season which was supposed to be a melodramatic one where she was faking. Adeel has been very good. For me the surprise package was Ali Kazmi who came out to be one of the characters you wanted more screen time of.

Negatives: Bad sound quality, Poor pacing of the movie, Script: Okay but poorly told. Movie feels like it has been patched and cropped and cut. Disjointed. Comedy in the movie is very bad. Not even a single laughing scene.

Otherwise it was a good attempt but please next time please have a good coherent movie with good pacing and humor. Only good locations and a good cast doesn't suffice. I hope my rant gives the guys at ARY productions to have some food for thought.

Simply Beautiful!!

Really disappointed with this movie as the story has nothing new to offer.

It can be easily wrap up in an hour but the director seems to be consistent with slow long scenes.

Both lead characters are confuse as they did not know that they want with their life.

The two positive of this movie is acting and cinematography.

Adeel Husain is most impressive of the lot. His acting talent grows immensely.

Sanam Saeed is also good.

As I mention above the cinematography is really good.

What a movie that was and.. Damn! A must watch.

Now a days, our film industry is growing rapidly. They are making bunch of good movies and according to my conclusion, this is the best of 'em because of its maturity and a very sensible story. This movie is a result of hard work and dedication.

Every part of the movie made sense unlike the Bollywood movies. And it was a well crafted masterpiece.

Mehreen Jabbar has impressed me. The people sitting in the cinema were in tears. And I myself can't get it out of my mind.

I can see people saying: It's a waste of talent and time or whatever but Its a worth watch.

Go people watch this movie!

Mehreen Jabbar - Huge Disappointment

Actors did justice to their characters; the only plus point in this movie. otherwise waste of time and money.

Worst cinematography and music. Literally awful. it seems as if the director has used ordinary handy-cam to shoot this movie. This lady has no idea of what does the characters demand! Hip-hop type friends going to a hip-hop cafe in New York and music played is classical Urdu sung in pathetic voice and music. Although singer is modern Desi American, but when she sings, her accent magically transforms into classical Urdu, wow! Overall, it does not look like a movie, it's simply a badly directed long play.

Not recommended at all!

A Good Movie

The movie surely wasn't fast and they did drag some scenes, But, this is exactly what I liked about the movie. The slow pace lets the emotions sink in and you feel connected somehow. The cinematography was also praiseworthy. The songs were not that good but the lyrics were well good. The choreography was also good yet decent compared to Bollywood. Some scenes could have been shortened and there were some issues with the sound too. However, the overall experience was good and it kinda overshadows all the errors. The only error that I couldn't ignore was the predictability of this movie, other than that I really liked it. The cast was great Adeel, Sanam, Shaz, Hareem and Ali Kazmi they all did justice to their roles.

A great movie which really look like a movie.

Now this is called a movie. Finally someone in Pakistan has made such a movie. The filmography was very good as compared to other Pakistani movies. The acting was also very good compared to other Pakistani movies.

I don't want to comment on the story of the movie because the movie is not just all about the story. Just enjoy the movie you will forget that you are watching a Pakistani movie.

Musical drama

An utter waste of time and money

Mediocre script and predictable plot is what makes this film not worth watching. There are lots of confuse characters in this movie. The main female lead (Hareem Farooq), is I don't know why is worried about her son's reaction toward her relationship with lead male (Adeel Hussain), on the other hand her son simple adore Adeel Hussain.

Acting mediocre at times and general execution and direction of this movie is dull. The editing was choppy as well.The only plus point of this move is its cinematography which is really good.

After watching some recent release's that the Pakistan film industry has to offer this effort fell far below to what else is out there.
