Laura (Luisa Arraes), a young girl accustomed to the comfortable urban world of an upper middle-class family from Rio de Janeiro, takes a road trip with her friend through the Northeastern wilderness. As the two girls venture themselves into the dark, dry land, a group of renegade bikers running away from the police emerges at a high speed, causing a terrible accident. Lauras friend dies and she lies unconscious, while the gang comes back to rescue her. Those bikers live in the arid outback like nomads, a lifestyle inspired on the old northeastern bandits, the cangaceiros, only modernized with an urban punk look and juiced-up motorbikes. Through Lauras eyes we discover the revolutionary leader Ara (Cauã Reymond) and his gangs real motivation: To bring back the rain to the deserted northern wilderness, through the powers of a sacred Golden Saint.
