Coach Joey Rollings' Sheldon Huskies climbed atop the Delta River League boys varsity basketball standings by defeating the Jesuit Marauders in a game broadcast by Access Sacramento's Hometown Sports Game of the Week. Players of the Game were junior swing Dakari Allen who scored 29 points for Sheldon and veteran guard Kurt Parker who came off the bench with 18 points for Jesuit. The Capital Christian Cougars defeated the Dixon Rams in a Golden Empire League boys varsity basketball game broadcast on Access Sacramento's Hometown Sports Game of the Week. Players of the Game were Dixon senior guard Michael Tomelloso and Capital Christian senior forward Matt Donlan. Announcers were Will James, Randy Routier and Greg Vande Streek.

The Pleasant Grove Eagles girls varsity basketball team defeated the St. Francis Troubadours 68-56 in a Delta River League game broadcast by Access Sacramento's Hometown Sports Game of the Week. One Player of the Game was selected from each team. For the Troubadours, MacKenzie Connarro was selected. For the Eagles, Avonna Lee was named. The Sheldon Huskies defeated the St. Francis Troubadours 54-39 in a Delta River League girls varsity basketball game broadcast on Access Sacramento's Hometown Sports Game of the Week. Players of the Game were senior guard Brianna Burgos who led all scorers with 20 points for the Huskies and senior guard and defensive specialist Gabby Blanchette for the Troubadours. In the first game of a double header for college basketball, the Cosumnes River College Lady Hawks defeated the American River College Lady Beavers 64-46 in a special partnership game with the Television Department at Cosumnes River College. Broadcasters Sachin Sewal and Raymond Williams join Access Sacramento's Will James in calling the action.

As part two of a college basketball doubleheader, the Cosumnes River College Hawks men's team defeated the American River College Beavers 87-77 in a special partnership broadcast with the Television Department at Cosumnes River College. Announcer Raymond Williams interviewed the Players of the Game: Mardell Thompson for the Beavers and Tony Gill for the Hawks. Announcers Sachin Sewal call the action.

Access Sacramento's Hometown Sports Game of the Week kicks off Season 15 with a a powerhouse match-up between the pre-season ranked #2 Nevada Union Miners traveling into Sacramento to meet the #1 ranked Grant Union Pacers. The pundits had it wrong though as Nevada Union's MarquiseCarter-petit ran for 139 yards and the Miners took the lead from the start to defeat the Pacers 37-7. Announcers Will James, Jim Dimino and Davis Xayavong make the call in this live broadcast.

In their first non-playoff meeting ever, the Elk Grove Thundering Herd traveled to Cougar Canyon where they were victorious a non-league boys varsity football game against the Del Campo Cougars 20-16. Game announcers Will James and Jim Dimino called the action with sideline reporting and interviews by Davis Xayavong.

The Jesuit Marauders traveled to Elk Grove's Cosumnes Oaks High School Stadium for a non-league match-up with the Franklin Wildcats in a game televised by Access Sacramento's Hometown Sports Game of the Week. Franklin senior quarterback completed 9 of 17 passes for 101 yards and 1 TD, with two rushing TDs from Trevon Lampley and another by Kyron Haris. In a Metropolitan League varsity football game, the Burbank Titans defeated the Sacramento Dragons 56-12. Franklin tallied 517 yards in total offense and made three interceptions. In a Capital League varsity boys football game, the Antelope Titans were victorious on their homecoming night against the Elk Camino Eagles 35-6 in a game broadcast by Access Sacramento's Hometown Sports Game of the Week. Antelope running back Jonathan Crippes rushed 17 times for 113 yards and one TD, while junior quarterback Tyler McCombs picked up on rushing TD and passed to Tyler Winston for 28-yard TD reception.

The Monterey Trail Mustangs defeated the Laguna Creek Cardinals 26-3 in a Delta Valley League varsity boys football game on Access Sacramento's Hometown Sports Game of the Week. Players of the Game were Isaiah Morrison for Laguna Creek and senior running back C.J. Ramseur of Monterey Trail. Announcers are Will James, Jim Dimino and Davis Xayavong .

The Folsom Bulldogs took a bite out of the Sheldon Huskies 49-13 in a Delta River League varsity boys football game on Access Sacramento's Hometown Sports Game of the Week. The Oak Ridge Trojans defeated the Pleasant Grove Eagles 38-19 in a Delta River League varsity boys basketball game on Access Sacramento's Hometown Sports Game of the Week. Players of the Game were Isaiah Saunders for Pleasant Grove and senior quarterback Jason Samuels for Oak Ridge. Announcers were Will James, Jim Dimino and Davis Xayavong.

Cross town rivals Franklin High School and Monterey Trail face off on Hometown Sports Game of the Week. The Franklin Wildcats bring an undefeated 9-0 record up against the 5-4 Monterey Trail Mustangs, but the home-standing Mustangs bring added energy from both homecoming and senior-night festivities. Franklin was up 14-0 after one quarter and never looked back defeating Monterey Trail 28-6.

In the opening round of the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section 2012 football playoffs, the Franklin Wildcats defeated the Nevada Union Miners 35-14 to advance to the quarterfinals. Franklin pulled ahead in the second quarter and Nevada Union was never able to catch up. Franklin senior running back Kyran Harris ran for 267 yards to lead all carriers. In a rare same-season rematch, the Elk Grove Thundering Herd defeated the Del Campo Cougars 35-14 in a CIF Sac-Joaquin Section D-II quarterfinal varsity football playoff game broadcast live on Access Sacramento's Hometown Sports Game of the Week. Elk Grove senior running back Robert Frazier rushed 21 times for 227 yards and two TDs and junior running back Wadus Parker carried 19 times for 100 yards and two TDs adding a third score taking quarterback Tommy Arnold's only completed pass of the night for an 82 yard scoring reception. Will James, Jim Dimino and Bob Moffitt provide the commentary.

The Elk Grove Thundering Herd advanced to the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division-II finals by defeating the Del Oro Golden Eagles of Loomis, CA 35-32 in one of two semi-finals. Three running backs for the Thundering Herd rushed for more than 100 yards and junior quarterback Tommy Arnold passed for two TD's in earning the victory. This game wraps up Game of the Week football coverage for Season 15.

The Cosumnes River College Hawks defeated the Feather River College Golden Eagles 76-67 in a game created for Access Sacramento's Hometown Sports Game of the Week. This broadcast was produced by a production crew made up almost entirely from students in the Television Department at Cosumnes River College.

In the James Clark Classic basketball tournament for community college men's teams, the Modesto Junior College Pirates defeated the Columbia College Claim Jumpers 80-72 in a game broadcast from the Cosumnes River College main gymnasium. Rick Stewart, Raymond Williams and Gregory Vande Streek provide the commentary and analysis.

The Kennedy Cougars defeated the Burbank Titans 62-59 to advance in the Titan Holiday Hoop Classic boys varsity tournament in a game broadcast by Access Sacramento's Hometown Sports Game of the Week. Will James and Rick Stewart call the action.
