The Sacramento Dragons won its own boys basketball tournament, the St. Hope Elite Hoops Classic, by defeating the Bakersfield Drillers 57-44 on Access Sacramento's Hometown Sports Game of the Week. Players of the Game were Tyrone Wallace for the Drillers and Joe Barnes for the Dragons. Will James and Kevin Kelly call the action.

Access Sacramento's Hometown Sports Game of the Week broadcast of doubleheader of boys varsity basketball in the 10th Annual Father Kelly Tribute tournament at Jesuit High School. In game one, the Pleasant Grove Eagles defeated the Berkeley Yellowjackets 57-52. Players of the Game were Justyce Key for the Yellowjackets and Malik Thames, who scored 17 points for the Eagles. Access Sacramento's Hometown Sports Game of the Week broadcast of doubleheader of boys varsity basketball in the 10th Annual Father Kelly Tribute tournament at Jesuit High School. In the Newark Memorial Cougars defeated the Jesuit Marauders 56-50, avenging a one point loss to Jesuit a month previously. Players of the Game were veteran guard Casey Norris for Newark with 25 points and Parker Uu for Jesuit with 18 points. Will James and Kevin Kelly call the action.

Access Sacramento's Hometown Sports Game of the Week kicks off Season 15 with a a powerhouse match-up between the pre-season ranked #2 Nevada Union Miners traveling into Sacramento to meet the #1 ranked Grant Union Pacers. The pundits had it wrong though as Nevada Union's MarquiseCarter-petit ran for 139 yards and the Miners took the lead from the start to defeat the Pacers 37-7. Cross town rivals Franklin High School and Monterey Trail face off on Hometown Sports Game of the Week. The Franklin Wildcats bring an undefeated 9-0 record up against the 5-4 Monterey Trail Mustangs, but the home-standing Mustangs bring added energy from both homecoming and senior-night festivities. Franklin was up 14-0 after one quarter and never looked back defeating Monterey Trail 28-6.

In the opening round of the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section 2012 football playoffs, the Franklin Wildcats defeated the Nevada Union Miners 35-14 to advance to the quarterfinals. Franklin pulled ahead in the second quarter and Nevada Union was never able to catch up. Franklin senior running back Kyran Harris ran for 267 yards to lead all carriers. In a rare same-season rematch, the Elk Grove Thundering Herd defeated the Del Campo Cougars 35-14 in a CIF Sac-Joaquin Section D-II quarterfinal varsity football playoff game broadcast live on Access Sacramento's Hometown Sports Game of the Week. Elk Grove senior running back Robert Frazier rushed 21 times for 227 yards and two TDs and junior running back Wadus Parker carried 19 times for 100 yards and two TDs adding a third score taking quarterback Tommy Arnold's only completed pass of the night for an 82 yard scoring reception. The Elk Grove Thundering Herd advanced to the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division-II finals by defeating the Del Oro Golden Eagles of Loomis, CA 35-32 in one of two semi-finals. Three running backs for the Thundering Herd rushed for more than 100 yards and junior quarterback Tommy Arnold passed for two TD's in earning the victory. This game wraps up Game of the Week football coverage for Season 15.
