Filmed primarily on a Sony Handycam HDR-XR160 Full HD camera. Scenes from early days of the band, including the first interview, were filmed on an iPad Mini.
Post-production was halted when Gavin Al-Asif's mother sued Tyler Wright for filming on her property without her written consent. She later canceled the charges before a court date was announced and has since released an apology.
Although advertised on websites like Rate Your Music, Facebook, YouTube, and Sputnikmusic, C.O.T.E. never released an EP of any sort. A compilation album with all of their home-recorded rehearsal takes were released as a bootleg CD in November of 2015.
C.O.T.E changed their name to 'Verily Insane' in the fall of 2015.
In early 2016, Todd Tanzosh demanded to be the keyboardist, an instrument the band did not need. Because of this, his role significantly decreased in musicianship. Later that year, he was fired for altering the band's official website and Facebook page by changing the genres to "deathcore, djent, melodic deathcore, technical death metal" which got the band kicked out of an 80's thrash metal revival-themed concert. After being fired, Todd still showed up to band practice as if nothing happened, which resulted in 'Tyler Wright' finally explaining to him that he was no longer in the band and that he did not need to show up to band practice anymore. The following day, Tanzosh released a lengthy rant on his Facebook page in which he belittled the band and its members for multiple things, mainly that progressive metal is "a boring genre" and "not heavy enough to be cool" and the band would never go anywhere. He also claimed that Gavin and Sowders were having a secret homosexual relationship, that Nathan Haley was abusing and sexually assaulting his girlfriend. He deleted the post after being confronted, but also unfriended all and blocked all band members from his Facebook page and blocked all of their numbers from his phone. He has not talked to the band since, and he soon later moved to Noble, Oklahoma.
