"Best and most beautiful things" deals with a young woman who is nearly blind and suffers from Asperger's syndrome and how she tries to lead a "normal" life including relationships and a job.

As you can already see from the description above, the movie chose a quite difficult topic to portray. You get a sense that life with the diseases is neither easy for the protagonist nor for the people around her, however she is a strong personality and fights for her personal choices. What's somehow missing for me is the message. It is indeed interesting to see the portrayal of this young woman and you do learn to be more sensitive towards disabled people, however at the end of the film I can't really say what I should take from it. In parts when she talks about her sexuality and kinks, it felt more like watching reality TV than a documentary dealing with a specific topic.

All in all I think that the editing is not the best and a clear structure would have been of some benefit for the film. Nevertheless it can't be a failure to see the world from different perspectives and gain understanding of the challenges several people have to face each and every day.
