"I Carry Your Heart with Me" is one of the better episodes of this season - not without its fair amount of cringe though. In this week's flash forward we see Damon stop by Alaric (and his kids!) to presumably reunite with his old friend and try to defuse this future crisis that we don't know much about yet. A cool scene nonetheless. Back in present time, Damon finds Oscar dead and has to cancel the trade for Elena's coffin. This has several consequences. Mary Louise and Nora decide to go on a killing spree at a Halloween party which really just leads to awkward heretic drama that we don't really care for at this point. It does however give 'some' character development. Damon, determined to get Elena's coffin back, resurrects Oscar with help from Bonnie and the Phoenix stone. Oscar escapes and goes on a killing spree for more human blood before being captured and returned to Lily. This episode had a rough start but the Damon/Oscar scenes were definitely entertaining to watch. They really brought back the horror aspect of this show and the cliffhanger made me excited to see what happens next. My vote is 8/10

That tour bus scene!

This is the first truly awesome episode of the season that feels like previous seasons and the first episode yoy don't notice the absence of characters, it had one of their annual theme dances, a tour bus full of people which ended up a very dark and bloody moment that was insane, yes I loved the freaking episode.
Halloween dance with the heretics

Damon has to get a dead Oscar alive so Mary Louise and Nora will stop killing a student every 15 minutes. Caroline and Stefan decide to lure the heretics to the Halloween dance. Caroline is shown looking at a poster and Nora takes it from her. Caroline acts like it is exclusive and heretics are not invited. Nora declares they are going and then Caroline walks away and says like they would totally fit in. Don't be self-conscious Caroline adds.
Caroline is forced by Mary Louise to give her an outfit. Caroline comes back to the dorm with a bag and Mary Louise is in one of her red dresses. Mary Louise asks how it looks and Caroline comments under her breath about Mary Louise's hips.
Nora is dressed as an angel and Mary Louise is a devil.
Bonnie revives Oscar with the stone and Damon sends a photo to Stefan as proof for the heretics. Stefan shows the photo to Mary Louise who breathes with a sigh of relief and sits with Stefan talking about her fight with Nora. Stefan injects her and when Nora comes with Stefan threatening to kill Mary Louise, Caroline comes and puts her hands on Nora which burns her. Caroline demands she siphons the spell.
Caroline cracks Nora's neck and runs to Stefan. They have sex now that they can touch each other again without the burn.
