The movie was edited using Final Cut Pro X on a Mac computer.
The dog 'Whisky' just acted naturally and was not trained. All scenes with Whisky were a result of just following her around with a video camera. There were no tricks involved too. The bit where she seems distressed is where she was freaking out at a pizza delivery motorbike that had pulled up outside the house. She loves being filmed as she gets a lot of attention.
Isolation 119 took 2 years to make, mainly because the storyboarding, cinematography and editing was deliberately detailed and compact to make every scene interesting.
The effects were done using a green screen, FCPX and After Effects. Most things FCPX could handle surprisingly, but for the odd thing that the software couldn't handle, AE was used.
The aim of the movie from the beginning was to create a horror movie that stands on its own as being unique for horror fans. Also, to avoid excessive jump scare tactics, which most modern day viewers have now become desensitised to. As well as to create a horror movie that has some intellectual depth to it, rather than just a shallow storyline.
No. For most horror fans who are by now pretty much 'zombied out', rest assured that there are no zombies, werewolves or vampires in the movie. Something refreshingly different awaits in the shadows for horror movie enthusiasts.
Yes, absolutely. Attention to detail and investing time and your heart into a movie project can sometimes dwarf any budget constraints. If you haven't already made that dream movie that is in the depths of your mind, the producer, cast and crew hope that Isolation 119 will in some small way encourage you to grab a video recorder and go for it.
