Good one.

Anime with painful events, that's when you know it's well done. You should have given a twist in the ending part.

A great watch but rushed way too much. Almost similar to Inuyasha & Naruto.

It was a good watch although it was rushed nearly half of the series. Generic main character (Ushio) - A crybaby high school student with many female interests. The dynamic between Tora and Ushio reminded me of Naruto with Kurama.

A huge fan of yokai or monster hunting. This was good as it is full of yokai that I'm mostly familiar with and packed with actions and adventures.

The animation style was okay, great performances by the voice actors. The opening song reminded me of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.

The second half of this series was extremely rushed. Everything moves forward with little to no time to get into the storyline. Maybe it was cancelled for more seasons. Not a fan of the character's progression.

The world-building was awful but I did enjoy the fighting. Tbh, this reminded me too much of Inuyasha.

Ngl, the sad moments hit hard, mostly thanks to the amazing instrumentals and compelling voice castings. Some unexpected twists that caught me off guard. Few horrifying scenes. Recommended.

Fight and Monsters

Classic Anime in which you see monsters on the loose, a protagonist with a demon that must control and give each other a lot of blows. Zero originality but the fights are gorgeous to watch.

A good shonen anime from a once very famous manga
paolozavatta28 February 2019
Ushio and Tora is a shonen manga with elements of supernatural, action, comedy and tragedy. Ushio and Tora new anime series deserve more recognition. The story is pretty good, it has a good balance of light moments and sad ones and it explains all the main mystery of the plot, with some interesting twist you wouldn't guess at the start of the serie. The serie cover all the main plot from the manga (even if some side stories and secondary characters are left out for pacing and length reasons). The characters are all decents: for example the main love interest is not, for once, only a cardboard cutout, but has a personality of her own. The combats are not dragged on too much and are often resolved in interesting ways. The animation is decent. So if you like shonen anime, i would give Ushio and Tora a try.

One of the most underrated anime series you'll ever see
wrjones-068313 February 2022
First things first, for all these "it's not original" sanctimonious nerds out there, this anime is based off a Manga that came out before most of you were born or were still in diapers, it was telling the story before the story became a basic template. It also does a FAR better job with it than just about anything that has come after it, besides something doesn't always have to be original to appreciate it for what it is. Anyway, the anime is incredible! Expertly balanced with light hearted moments, touching moments, and of course awesome action while keeping a dark and serious undertone. Watching the bond between Ushio and Tora grow is always entertaining, and the art style, monsters, and surprisingly deep detailed story are all top notch. I can't say enough good things about this series, if you enjoy anime then do yourself a favor and watch it, don't listen to any of the whiny hater reviews, you won't be disappointed.

Toru: "Life's never boring with Ushio around".

Warning: Spoilers
Absolutely great show. Mixed with Ushio's normal serious attitude, Toru's strength and hilarious humor at all things modern (as he was pinned to a wall for 500 years by the Beast Spear). Then you have the girls. Can't have a good Japanese anime with a male protagonist that doesn't have a harem of girls that he is completely clueless about. He stands up for all of them all the time and that's why they all love him, but not the love Asuka feels for him. That's different. Everyone sees it but Ushio and surprisingly Asuka herself until halfway through the show.
