Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • A character lays on the body of a dead whale after almost being eaten by shark. The shark then comes back up and takes a bite out of the whale, killing the character in the process.
  • At the end of the movie a whole bunch of sharks start eating the meg this may be gross for some viewers
  • The megalodon is defeated as a result of Jonas slicing open the megalodon-stomach and stabbing an iron rod into the megs eye.
  • When the megalodon invaded a beach in China, he/she freightened hundreds or thousands of swimmers and bystanders, chomped at rafts, and popped a human hamster ball; no blood was shown, but the humans were horrified.
  • Dead Megaldon gets biten by another meg. Kind of unexpected. A character is eaten in the process. No blood or gore except for the Meg that was already dead.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There's a very scary scene when a second meg emerges from the water, eating a character as it jumps out, and bites the dead body of the first meg. The shark then flips over the boat, flinging the other characters out of the boat. It's a very sudden and tense scene.
  • The final scene concludes as Statham's character kills the Meg, first by driving his submarine's wing thingy into the Meg, then stabbing a rod in it's eye, killing it. The latter is done with no cuts or reductions and is done slowly. Hard to watch.
  • Many scenes include tense situations including one where a giant squid starts attacking a woman in a submarine and begins to squeeze her to death
  • When the megalodon invaded a beach in China, he/she freightened hundreds or thousands of swimmers and bystanders, chomped at rafts, and popped a human hamster ball; no blood was shown, but the humans were horrified.
  • A dog is implied to be eaten by the shark but it ends up safe and sound at the end of the movie.
