Dumpster Fire

The premise of this movie was good, and the main actress shows relative talent and promise. But the script and every other character's acting abilities were straight up painful.

The joke gets tired.

Enjoyed it for a while but never really understood what the joke was. Take a group of dysfunctional misfits, fill them with booze and drugs, what happens. If that sounds funny to you, then maybe you'll like it. It started well, the primary characters were interesting, but each additional one got weirder and weirder. I didn't watch it all as I got bored with the idea of adults partying like juveniles.

Pointless story written by someone who does not understand "Drinksgiving"
StorieLuver16 November 2018
So here is what "Drinksgiving" actually is: When college kids go away to school, Thanksgiving weekend is usually the first time going back home for most of them. Since they are all staying with their parents but not responsible for the actual Thanksgiving parties the next day, they have nothing to do. Therefore, the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving becomes a sort of unofficial high school reunion, where all the kids from town will either meet up at someone's home or a bar to hang out & catch up. Once you are out of college and living in the real world, this "holiday" no longer exists. Instead, (in theory) all these college grads should have places of their own that need paying for, so they have grown-up jobs. Your grown-up job exhausts you, so the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving is a time to be grateful for the day off from work you have the next day, not a time to party. Now this movie is about some 35 year-old looking woman who still apparently doesn't have her stuff together and thinks she can relive her college days by having a "Drinksgiving" at her house. I could maybe buy this if she looked liked a recent college grad and her place looked like the home of someone just starting out, but neither she or the house seem appropriately cast. Nor do any of the other actors. Most of the women look to be mid-30s to early 40s, while most of the men looked to still be college-aged, yet we're supposed to believe they are all classmates? Watch Holly Hunter in "Home for the Holidays" if you want to know what Thanksgiving is like for adults.

fun take on throwing a party
ksf-214 February 2021
Extra points for the title alone! some great things in this film, but also some weaknesses. there are some hilarious lines in here. great interaction between the gay folks and the straight folks. when the porn actor shows up, there are so many ways they could have gone with that, and they handled it just right. on the down side, they keep showing long guest descriptions that are on screen for 2.5 seconds, then they are gone. they may have been funny, but I only got halfway through each one before it disappeared. but it's a fun storyline... one day in the life of.... it's all over pretty quickly. i don't understand why it's rated so low on imdb. granted, it's only one hundred votes at this point, but it's much better than that. maybe as more people see it, more people will appreciate it. and has anyone else heard of being humdingered? maybe it's a local thing. anyone who has given a party will identify with the host. check it out.

"Drinksgiving" solid production that examines the dynamic between alcohol and fear.

Warning: Spoilers
Thanksgiving is the most wonderful family time of year that we all dread. I had never heard the term "Drinksgiving" before but, it's fitting. Great plot device for the unofficial class reunion / house warming party. Sort of a micro "Big Chill from 1983."

Pamela Mitchell is talented and could have a good future in hollywood's ROM-COM factory. Wonderful portrayal a coming of age twenty-something. The movie covers everything from the stoner turned dealer, clicks that remain, to the classmate you have to invite even though nobody wants to see them. One line I loved " If you bring a dish to pass, bring your own fucking spoon. "
