An hour and a half I wont be getting back.

If you have absolutely nothing else to do, at all, why not give this movie a try. The acting is pretty good, the ladies are attractive and the men are good looking if you still count Bo as a boy. Other than that, this movie is a waste. Its a first person, found footage type that has been played out for years. I only relay this because I wish I had known it before I started watching. All the reviews I read about this say how bad it is and what a waste of time it is but I tend to not believe critics. I should have where this movie is concerned. You have to wait until there is 15 minutes of the movie left before it gets going. Everything else is buildup, just pointless banter really. Once you get to the point where it can be called a "horror" movie, you barely want to try to finish. I love terrible movies, especially terrible horror movies but this movie is too much of a bad thing.

A 45min idea stretched into a feature length film.

Not... terrible, but just disappointing overall. I'm a huge fan of low budget found footage and I'd heard good things about this one from other fans.

But this just kinda... Well it was just pretty stupid.

The actual altar in the film isn't even the one shown on the promo poster. In the movie, it looks like a damn Halloween prop from Party City. Honestly, as much as I wanted to like this one, it just fell flat on it's face.

All the "scary" bits were laughable and poorly executed. And the climax went over like a fart in the wind.

Pretty standard fare.

Once again friends reunite even though many are annoying people and not all get along. (Perfect set up for a college reunion of camping in the mountainous forest.) Randomness then ensues. Main character appears to be on the autism spectrum and so he constantly carries camera. Viola! Another found footage film. Small element of crazy local, some spiritual altar site in the woods, and after yet more dumb decisions made by the cadre of arrogant and ignorant characters. Evil is unleashed. And cut as the film ends with the abruptness that is now standard for this genre of film. I've stopped watching worse films, but I have enjoyed other films of the same ilk much better.

Other reviews must not have watched the same movie.

98% of movie was traveling to the camping site. I have sat through some really bad movies, but this is beyond anything I have ever seen. I don't know who the other reviews were by, but we must have watched something different. My son and I have a contest to watch the worse movie ever made. This movie is so bad it doesn't even qualify for the contest.

Unwatchable

A true stinker. The found footage genre is a guilty pleasure of mine, and although I know that 90% of these films are going to be trash, I'll go out of my way to watch them when I can in hopes of discovering one of the gems.

This is not one of them. The opening sequence is painful to watch. A newlywed couple in a hotel and the husband for some stupid reason is wearing a head camera fresh out of the shower? (But if he wasn't we wouldn't see the generic crazy man at the room door warning them of the dangers in the woods.) It's pure laziness on film makers part.

The actors are embarrassing to watch as they try to portray emotion and pretend like they care about anything they are saying. I couldn't finish this drivel.

Don't believe the high ratings. They are clearly posted by people associated with the film in some way. Garbage.

Okay this movie sucks you in, and not in a good way. You keep watching hoping it will get better and it doesn't. Beau is such a wimp and whining about everything. Not worth watching.

No redeeming qualities

Bad writing and nothing much in way of a plot at all. Props looked like they were from Spirit Halloween. Not even entertainingly bad.

Gives Blue Lights a bad name....
guestar-4946527 June 2017
Stars: Michael Wainwright, Master Dave Johnson, Deep Rai and Jesse Parr.

Write & Directed by : Matthew Sconce.

Okay, Very Scary this outing was ! Not since 'Game Camera' has this critic been so scared at ….Just found footage features.

The Blue Lights,Err stones, No I think they are lights, But could have been stones…I hated them and there shrill emanations.

Michael Wainwright is amazing – seen in Lamb Feed, Rhonda Rides to Hell,up for lead in Blood Drive feature film and we wrote Nosfera2 to be only cast with him.Wainwright is the 'New' monster star on screen from 2016 on….

Most scenes look cold, Cast was amazing and needs to work more,.

Why isn't TIM PARRISH doing super hero genre flicks ? So, ALTAR is scary and suspenseful and worth a watch, Congrats Matt Sconce & his cast and crew.

This filmmaker has done a masterful job at creating a world to tell a story with as little budget as possible...BUT with the biggest thrills and suspense! Great acting, directing and writing -- well crafted horror. It sucks you right in. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and wanted to leave a message for all who want an experience.
