As a Cem Yilmaz fan i still can't get over G.O.R.A. but you can enjoy every Cem Yilmaz movie. I enjoyed this one. The acting is really good, every scene you wonder what is gonna happen and characters are lovely.
Keep your expectations low. I know when you heard Cem Yilmaz doing something you're waiting to see it with impatience and you always assume it will be super funny and you gonna laugh until you cry. But follow the story, follow the characters not only lines. I'm not telling this movie is so good or so funny but it's a good production and worth to see. Not a waste of time. When i heard the name of the movie "Ali Baba and the Seven Dwarfs" i thought it will be a fantastic comedy movie. But it turns out an action comedy. Characters of Cem Yilmaz movies are always have drama, you're loving them and you feel sorry for them. You want them to accomplish everything and be happy. The movie warms your heart. That's what i expect from a comedy movie.
If you want to laugh like and elephant then go see cheap productions like Recep İvedik. I'm not saying Recep İvedik is worthless but you can't even compare them. Try to enjoy the movie and don't say people "It's not that funny, i only laughed couple of times" who cares? It's your sense of humor!

I watched the movie today. As a Cem Yilmaz fan, I can easily say that this movie was the worst Cem Yilmaz movie ever. Playing two different character as a Cem Yılmaz is always a good idea. It was the only good thing for this movie. Cem Yilmaz is very clever and creative person. So, we were expecting more creative and funny movie but it was so boring. Some people leaved the theater before the end. I believe that Cem Yilmaz's next movie will be better than Ali Baba ve 7 Cüceler. In summary, I cannot say "you should watch this movie in theater". If you have time and you are a Cem Yilmaz fan like me, you can watch it in theater. Otherwise you may watch it from DVD or something else.

Cem Yılmaz(and his team) is great at synthesizing original works out of clichés. If you focus on short moments you'll be bored but overall it feels different. This movie aligns with that premise. The parts about the struggle of common Turkish people with foreign languages and Europe -Bulgaria in particular- are hilarious. Some impressive cold war era gadgets were on scene. Commercial product placements were smart and not irritating.
Cons: it's nowhere near Yahşi Batı, even the late appearance of Zafer Algöz could not raise the bar. The content was insufficient to justify the movie length, it should end in 90 minutes at most. Overall 6.5/10

The beauty of the film cannot be understood from the trailers, you should watch it.
(Some people say that Cem Yılmaz(CY) asks vote from his fans, I don't believe in that, every film has its own audience. Besides, no one knows who votes from here so CY cannot know if any of his fans vote or not. Actually, I am not a fan of any famous person. If others like a movie but you don't, you can't blame that the ratings here are not real. You don't have to like every movie and cannot judge others' choices.)
I saw the movie last night at the premiere, it was funny even from the start. This film has a more international aspect compared to past films of CY because it is located in Sofia, Bulgaria & has foreign actor/actresses, foreign people (producers, assistant directors, etc) who have worked in the making of the film.
"Ali Baba & the 7 Dwarfs", has references to many Hollywood movies, including Hunger Games, Predator, James Bond. In some scenes, you can hear good Turkish local music (especially Barış Manço's songs) sang by the actors, themselves. İzzet Altınmeşe's son is also in the film starring as his father's youth. There is also reference to a previous film of CY, "Av Mevsimi" with a song, "Hayde Gidelum".
In all his movies, CY is successful reflecting his local values on the screen & interacting them with the foreign ones in a critical way.
It was very well thought to use a character, Boris Mancov who knows many languages including English, German, French, Italien, Arabian, etc.
There are many parts in the film that makes you really amused & these amusements keep your attention, your mood high till the end of the film while making you really laugh a lot at many times. (Ex: "How Şenay help you?")
Just before the scene when Şenay(Cem Yılmaz), İlber (Çetin Altay) & Veronika (Irina Ivkina) come across Kenan Memedov(Zafer Algöz), Kenan Memedov looks around the forest from underground with a periscope. In this scene, Kenan Memedov character reminds the wizard in the forest, Radagast the Brown in the Lord of the Rings Series. Zafer Algöz's Azerbaijan accent is perfect & his manners, the way he tells who he really is, is funny.
With this film, CY has answered again that he doesn't use same actors or actresses in all his films. Çetin Altay, Josi Mizrahi, Irina Ivkina, Can Yılmaz(brother of Cem Yılmaz), and many other new faces are in "Ali Baba & the 7 Dwarfs". In one scene we see Ozan Güven (the actor recently from the film, "Pek Yakında") in a picture that Kenan Memedov shows us. Although this is Irina Ivkina's first acting experience, she is natural & successful. She adds a good image among other characters with her different Turkish accent (but fluent) & with her native Russian. Fahradin Fahradinov & Mariya Anastasyeva who played the roles of Interpol agents were also very well fit in the film.
In summary, I advise you to watch this movie which is in theaters today, if you want to have fun, forget about the stresses of life & if you want to watch characters who have nice wit (=are skilled at using words in a clever and humorous way).
I wish CY, the director, actor & scenarist of "Ali Baba & the 7 Dwarfs" will make another film again soon. Turkish movie needs such brave & intelligent people who can make local values spread internationally & who can introduce Turkish actors, actresses to the world.

To me Cem Yılmaz is the funniest person in Turkey by far! But the film i watched yesterday was not funny that much. Maybe this was because of my high expectation level, maybe it was really not good enough. Although Cem Yılmaz always has positive credits from my perspective, i can easily say that this was his worst film. I know that he has the talent to do much better movies. Because he has a brilliant sense of humour.Although he has great ideas, i can not say the same thing about his direction performance. I think he ought to work with better professionals to convert his great ideas to great movies. Because, compare to his stand- up shows, his movies are really sucks. As a Cmylmz lover i expect better movies from him.
p.s: The Russian girl was really beautiful but her performance was one of the worst performance i have seen recently!

The rating's mostly reason is that he(Cem Yılmaz) is asking vote from his fans :/ i am one of fans of Cem Yılmaz but i cant betray him i watched the movie and i have to tell truth, The movie is absolutely worst Cem Yılmaz movie but there is another point in there, Cem Yılmaz supposes to conceal his unsuccess with ironize to people who criticized his movies or his behaving .. As everyone can see his movies success are getting bad in years but i still love him and still support him but he has to admit that support is not just to say "yeaah you are the best, you are the funniest(that's true) your all movies are the awesome, yeah man! you know the job!" The real support is can say with honesty if his movie or any project is bad.. Cem Yılmaz, I love you but this film is really bad. i hope all best things will be whit you..Please don't get angry or don't get mad with me, and please stop to query people's IQ. Yes you are the funniest guy of the Turkey and we love you. But please immediately check out yourself.. By the way your brother is really so bad at acting.. / I love you Cmylmz :)
If it's a movie by Cem Yilmaz, I'll watch it. Even if it's not good.
This movie is not good.
This movie is not good.

Cem's first films, such as G.O.R.A and A.R.O.G, are a masterpiece for the history of Turkish movies. However, in 2015 and later, we see that the attraction in his films has disappeared. He now produces films for his commercial concern. We can say this by looking at the increase his films in recent years. And their latest films are not as effective as their old movies. I'm not saying anything to his direction or editing, he's above standards. But I think he should do a self criticism as well. I think this film has nothing to distinguish it from other Turkish films. A kind of movie that people can watch when they get bored.
Cem yilmaz is known for its comedy movies. I am a cem yilmaz fan but this movie was awful. The jokes were ordinary.I was very sad for the first time to spent hours in cinema. I do not know i ever i go to movie directed by him. Some sentences are talked by other comedians before. For example Şahan is an example of this comedians. There were lots of swear that a family can not watch together. It is shame of cem yilmaz. I believe that some sort of reviews are written by himself or its colleagues. Also i should point out that watch rating on cinema was not good enough. It is better wait for a few weeks of months and watch it at home. No need to give money
Hello everybody! As a Turkish movie watcher and an occasional IMDb.com reviewer, I feel obligated to write my review for this one. First of all, Cem Yilmaz is a well-known stand-up comedian in Turkey. He is the director and the leading actor in this film. As the screening began only a few days ago, I am least affected by commentaries. Well, the beginning of the movie was awesome, the jokes come one after another. I think Cem Yilmaz has clearly resolved what Turkish people want to see in jokes, various situations created by illiterate people or upstarts and their conversations being garnished with a bunch of f-words. With notoriously increasing censorship in Turkey, his movies will always be among top- rated ones in Turkey. When this movie is screened on TV someday, in my opinion 90 percent of jokes will be censored and we will be watching something different. Therefore, well done Cem for reminding us of our sense of humor and for not being overwhelmed with self-censorship like most comedians. As for criticism, I found the second-half of the movie and the ending a bit too long. The story development could have been better. The old hand, Zafer Algöz, is introduced too late in the movie. The religious-looking guy could have been much better. Last but not least, Irina Ivkina is gorgeous. Thanks Cem for introducing us such a beauty. In my opinion, she is more beautiful than Bond girls. All in all, I believe that this movie will be among the best in comedy genre this year in Turkey.
I'm a big fan of Cem Yilmaz, but this movie is of lower quality than I expected. It could be the worst movie I've ever seen from Cem Yilmaz. We enjoy it from time to time, but this can not be Cem Yilmaz film.
Before I start of how i think about the picture, I would like to emphasize that I am a big fan of Mr. Yilmaz's stand-up comedies as many millions of people in Turkey. However if one must talk about the movies Yilmaz personally wrote and directed, then we come up with a conclusion that he is not as successful as he is as a comedian on the stage. The term of being successful is also too generous for someone to mention that kind of works.
What are the requirements for a work to be called as a movie? That must be the first question for a person whose claim is to write the screenplay and direct a picture. And these requirements are not that simply to obtain as we can already observe form Cem Yilmaz's works.
He has a great potential but have not gone many step forward since he started filming career. In every work he plays, his character acts identical with the character from the previous work. It is much the same person although their names differ from each other.
The main and the biggest problem lies on the screenplay and directing. That are point where Mr. Yilmaz should be criticized. When we watch him as an actor in movies which he only acts and got no effects on directing and screenplay he is much more better. What he should be doing for his next work and what he is gonna make will be so different i am one hundred percent sure of that. Because he is not such kind of a person who evaluates the commentaries in a positive way.

Cem Yilmaz has a great reputation in Turkey. But seems he forgets that great reputation creates great expectations. I think this is the biggest problem Yilmaz faces now.
I have seen Ali Baba and the Seven Dwarfs and I can say that it didn't surprised me at all. I do not mean that its a typical "full of fun" CY movie, unfortunately the opposite way round.
First of all, the story itself is so poor, nothing interesting with screenplay. Its like CY had some jokes in his mind and created a story only to put those jokes in it.
Another problem with characters. I did not understand what some characters really do in the movie, why do they exist, what would be the lose if those characters do not exist etc etc.
Looks like CY found a formula for his movies somethings like:
Find some jokes + Create a simple script (No need to be smart but should contain everything your audiences expect) + Choose correct actors & actresses (The ones who already tested and liked by fans) + Put CY name on it = Collect your money
Simple but unfortunately there are some elements are missing in the formula. Such as, story, creating a character, plot, intelligence of viewers (The worst thing about this movie is that CY does not care about his fan's intelligence. He thinks that everybody is ready to eat whatever CY cooks. Of course, its so wrong.)
CY makes films one after another. Don't know if because he has many things to tell or want to earn as much as possible or ... just don't know. What I know is that CY may go really down if keeps following the same strategy. This would be a shame for a genius, so I hope he wakes up to himself immediately.
As a last word about the movie, its just a simple comedy. If I knew that before then Id not pay for it but wait until its on TV.

I didn't have the opportunity to watch the movie yet. But who cares, it is a Cem Yilmaz movie so it doesn't have any other chance than being a great work. I'll come and edit/rewrite my comment here after watching the movie. And if you ask why i am writing this, the answer is that i want to show you guys, to rate and review a movie you don't have to watch it. Knowing about the previous works of the writer/producer/starring actor would give you enough information about a movie. Here it takes us to the question what is watching a movie is? Is it seeing the every little detail in the movie and watching each frames the movie has? I watched the poster for 114 minutes and i consider myself as i watched it. Yes maybe I'm giving an extreme example but that is only because i want to take your time and stop you and make you think on the definition of "watching a movie". What makes a movie, a movie is everything about that movie. From the poster to the advertisement, every material and literature about that movie. So here i am reviewing it according to all other things except from the movie itself.
Note:For those who are going to read this review and decide to post it or not, do not be deal breakers and let people read this review and smile. Do something nice, once in your live and post this!
SINCERELY!

Whenever I watch Cem YILMAZ and want to laugh, I am disappointed. Its scenario as well as acting is lower than expected.
Cem YILMAZ has two masterpieces: Yahsi Bati and Arog. Apart from these two movies, it is better to watch his stand-up shows, not his movies.
Most of the time, he chooses same players to work with in his movies. This is why he cannot come up with innovation.
