In early June, barely a year after the games release, a lawsuit filed for creative rights forced future DLC to be cancelled indefinitely. This includes Uber Jason and the Grendel map from Jason X (2001), pictures of Pamela when she was young, a pajama clothing pack, and much more.
The game features 4 people who worked on the Friday the 13th films:
- Horror icon Kane Hodder, who played Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th: The New Blood (1988), Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989), Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993) and Jason X (2001) motion-captured Jason's kills for the game.
- Sultan of Splatter Tom Savini, who did the make-up and designed the kills for the original Friday the 13th (1980), designed the kills used in the game.
- Harry Manfredini the composer for Friday the 13th (1980), also did the music for the game.
- Thom Mathews, who played the character of Tommy Jarvis in Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986), reprises his role in the game.
It was rumored that 'Ghost Jason' and Kyle McLeod from the fan film Never Hike Alone (2017) were going to be added to the game after Drew Leighty stated not only was he in the motion-capture studio but was talking to the creators of the game about getting his character added.
On Tommy Jarvis Tape 13, Tommy explains that he was looking for survivor Deputy Rick Cologne to help corroborate his story. But Rick had moved to Ohio and started using his wife's maiden name, Pastori. But before Tommy could talk to him, Rick was murdered by a maniac named Pinker. These events occurred in Shocker (1989). Vincent Guastaferro was in both films.
Players can choose from every Jason from 'Part 2' all the way up to 'Jason Goes to Hell,' each with 3 bloody skins. 'Part V' aka Roy Burns has the option of Blue or Spruce Green Coveralls
