If I could give this 0 stars, I would but well IMDb limits me so here's my review. This show is like a bunch of women got very very bored at Mediacorp HQ and decided to gossip over every single little thing that could ever happen and that has happened in their lives and a writer sits behind taking down every word they say, eats it and defecates it out and we get the plot of this abomination of a TV show. At the time of this writing, there have already been 441 episodes of this show. Let me do the math for you since 2015, we have 220.5 hours of this show so far and I don't see any signs of stopping. Yes, this may be personal hate for making my grandparents waste 30 minutes of their lives watching a gossip TV show from Monday to Friday every week while I try to work/game.
I'll justify my hate by actually reviewing the show now. Story wise, it's entirely predictable, I can tell who is going to break up, who is going to be in trouble, who is leaving the show without watching every single episode. For the sake of keeping conversation with my grandparents at times about the shows they watch, I watch one episode per week and yes it's that predictable. They basically took a love story, multiplied it by 10 to make sure everyone has a love affair, add betrayal to make it a tad bit interesting, and stretch the story of a 10 episode TV show and stretched it into 4 seasons of 100 episodes each season. Yes, people may argue of character development but seeing the same faces for 2 years can get annoying and that their lives either progress too fast or too slow for viewers to catch. Its cringy and punny to the point of forced humour also do note that everyone in the show is easily offended by everything you do. For all you know, breathing can cause widespread panic in the near future at the rate this show is going.
That was the story. Now the scenes the show plays out. We get the same 5 or 6 sets, the occasional coffee shop, school and office building shot with no windows. That's it. I'm not kidding here, if you ever have the time, go watch all the episodes and see for yourself. You would expect the scenery to change every once in a while but nope, we see the same places and people over and over again. To think about it, I can draw in details the layout of every location in the show and walk blindfolded the set. Even the shop based there isn't real. I would expect a show with 400 episodes to take the set seriously and rent a real location to shoot rather than using a cardboard set.
Now, the music..... I can forgive a poorly created set but I simply cannot forgive using the same some over and over and over and over again for 441 episodes. Intro, nothing changed since day one. Sad moments, same music since day one. Forgiving scenes, same music since day one. Worried scenes, same music Well you get the idea of how repetitive this has become. Is Mediacorp that poor to not invest even $1000 or host some competition to compose some new music to their "star" TV programme. Frankly, I'm waiting for them to pull the plug and invest in something else. Reinvent Phua Chu Kang please or Point of Entry or something. If the same people that made the best comedy shows of our time and arguably the best show about the police of Singapore. You can't sink soo low as to produce this this "show" anymore
