Wolverine Mentored a Surprising MCU Hero, Setting Up the Perfect Marvel Movie Connection
Image
Yelena Belova, Black Widow's "sister," looks up to Wolverine and takes his advice seriously, potentially setting up a connection between the X-Men and the MCU. In the White Widow comic series, Yelena has become an assassin consultant and mentor, using her skills to train the next generation while also fighting against a nefarious corporation. Yelena's strong confidence, support for other women, and snarky personality could potentially tie the X-Men characters to the existing Avengers in future MCU films, especially with Deadpool 3 in production.

For all that Wolverine claims to be a lone wolf, he certainly has been a father figure to a lot of young female characters. In a recent flashback, Marvel revealed a new MCU star who thinks Logan is cool, and took some advice from him seriously: Black Widow's "sister," Yelena Belova. As the MCU pulls the X-Men into its orbit, and Deadpool 3 has marked...

"I'm the Greatest Assassin in the World": McU's Yelena Belova Gets New Title in Character-Defining Upgrade
Image

As Yelena Belova gets her own series in White Widow #1, she faces off with Captain America - and makes sure Steve Rogers knows that she's a serious player in the Marvel Universe. The McU's Yelena Belova Can Be Used To Explore the Red Room
Image
Yelena Belova's intriguing backstory in the Red Room was disappointingly rushed in the Black Widow movie, leaving fans wanting more. A TV show centered around the Red Room, similar to the darker Marvel Netflix shows, could effectively explore the ruthless nature of the organization while making audiences care for the characters. A White Widow TV show would provide closure for MCU fans by delving into the wickedness of the Red Room and giving Yelena Belova a proper backstory, correcting the treatment of female heroes in the MCU.

With a White Widow comic book series making its debut due to Florence Pugh's masterful portrayal of the former Russian assassin, many fans of the MCU have been left to wonder whether Yelena Belova will get the time she deserves in live-action. After her introduction to the MCU in Black Widow, the titular Natasha Romanoff's adoptive little sister, Yelena Belova, won...

Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova Returns as Marvel's White Widow in New Series
Image
Marvel Comics has recently revealed that Yelena Belova, the Russian assassin called the White Widow who is an ally of the Black Widow, will be getting her own solo series. White Widow #1 will launch before the character stars in the upcoming MCU film Thunderbolts, played by the impeccable Florence Pugh.

The upcoming White Widow series — from writer Sarah Gailey and artist Alessandro Miracolo — was first unveiled by The Mary Sue alongside an absolutely gorgeous cover from David Marquez. The series will be a fresh chapter for the complex Yelena Belova, with Marvel describing the antihero as, "Superspy. Rogue agent. Shadow of the Black Widow."

While the comics version of Yelena Belova debuted almost 25 years ago in 1999, her popularity mainly remained within the Black Widow fandom. Florence Pugh brought her to life in the 2021 Black Widow film — and then Hawkeye TV show — boosting the character's popularity and making her a household name.

McU's Thunderbolts Leader Confirmed By Marvel's Kevin Feige
Image
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has confirmed which MCU hero will be taking on the role of leader in the upcoming Thunderbolts movie. Comprised of characters who by no means would consider themselves heroes like the Avengers, the Thunderbolts will be a very different and likely darker team who will soon come together in the MCU. As such, it seems as though Marvel Studios has selected the perfect candidate to lead them.

While talking about Thunderbolts in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Feige confirmed the former Winter Soldier Bucky Barnes (played by Sebastian Stan) will serve as the "de facto leader" of the new team:

"We've got a lot of things that start shooting relatively soon. What's fun about that, and I sort of said this at D23, is that they are barely heroes. None of them would consider themselves heroes. When your de facto leader is Bucky Barnes, that's...
