I wanted to watch/listen to this for the second time this year, because The Boy and the Heron has been on my mind, and it reminded me once again how good Joe Hisaishi's music for Studio Ghibli has been.
You do appreciate it when you hear it within the films, but I like the fact this concert film exists and puts the music front and center. The visuals are in the background here, quite literally - you see a large screen sometimes showing clips from the films, but it's really all about the music.
There's not a lot to say about it beyond "the music is good" and that any fans of Miyazaki/Hisaishi who haven't seen this yet need to. If he ever does another filmed concert post-2023, where he incorporates some The Boy and the Heron tracks, then that'd be even better.
